I (unfortunately) have had the need for Physical Therapy many times in my life, but have never experienced the expertise and knowledge and level of success that I have encountered with Access Physical Therapy in Bedford, New York. They are a wonderful group of dedicated people led by Sean Altman, who is nothing short of amazing. I have osteoarthritis in several parts of my body, and my last series of visits were for my right knee. I have been going to Access Physical therapy for several months and the improvement in my knee is fantastic. When I first went to see them I was unable to walk with out a knee brace, and very often found myself in excruciating pain. Sean and his team created personally tailored programs for me with success that has exceeded my hopes and expectations. Sean has devised some very innovative methods incuding the use of tape, a sink plunger, ultrasound, and very specific muscle building exercises that have lead me to where I am today. I am back on my treadmill, walking my dog, and doing moderate work outs again. I have learned skills that I can use to help myself and have been given an exercise program to continue to build strength in my legs and to aid in my over all improvement. I will still probably need a knee replacement some day, but thanks to the wonderful people at Access- that day is not today. I would be remiss if I did not also mention that going to Physical Therapy has actually been fun. The atmosphere is friendly, compassionate, and informal. Erika and Margo at the front desk are both kind and try very hard to be accommodating. I have referred my brother in law, my sister, and both nieces to Access, and they are all very happy that I did.

Originally misdiagnosed by my manhattan orthopedic surgeon, my physical therapist team which included Priyanka and Steve at Access after a few weeks of therapy strongly recommend that I get an MIR. My manhattan doctor said I did not have a torn rotator cuff and reluctantly gave me a prescription for PT even though I said I was in pain. After only a few weeks with Access they strongly recommended i have an MRI and to see my surgeon. I asked for a recommendation as I did not want to return to the manhattan surgeon and they recommended Dr. Khabie from Mt Kisco. Dr. Khabie read my MRI and said I had a severe tear. Thankfully with help from Access I as properly diagnosed and introduced to a fabulous surgeon. I worked with Steve post surgery to get my range of motion back over the summer. I had a rare instance where I had not only a severe tear in my cuff but I also had frozen shoulder. I highly recommend the staff at Access. They are very competent, kind and pro-active. I would often share exercises I found on the web with Steve and if appropriate we would incorporate them into my homework routine. I also appreciate that there are several offices in my area which makes it very convenient. The offices open early on weekdays and are open on Saturdays so it is very easy to schedule an appt.

Last year, I went to Access for physical therapy after heart surgery. I was fortunate to be assigned to work with Sean. Over the past year he has helped me to recover from the surgery, as well as helping with some back pain, and occasional hand discomfort. Sean is always upbeat, asks the right questions, and is sensitive to my needs. He has helped me with exercises, which I have done on a regular basis both at Access and at the gym. Even though he works with a number of clients, he carefully keeps track of each appointment and develops a personalized treatment approach. Access Physical Therapy is also well-managed with always pleasant people that schedule appointments and greet you when you arrive. One thing I really appreciate is that I have never waited more than a few minutes after my arrival for the session to start. I always feel welcomed and comfortable the minute I walk in the door at Access. They also provide email and text reminders of all appointment, which is helpful.

I recently had the pleasure to have my physical therapy with Neil after a second major orthopedic surgery. Neil is very professional and very knowledgeable. He doesnt rush you out of his office or dismiss your symptoms. The diagnosis and suggestions always go above and beyond just basic treatment. Neil has a very upbeat personality. He is very compassionate and communicates very well. As he is going through the treatment he explains what he is doing, why he is doing it and how it will benefit you. Neil is an excellent motivator, giving me an abundance of support that allowed me to have a positive outlook with my injury. No one looks forward to surgery, but it was extremely comforting to know that Neil would be taking care of me. He has also treated my husband and son on several occasions. We consider him family.

I recently "graduated" from physical therapy with Steve after a severe ankle sprain. I knew Steve as he had treated two of my children and felt confident in his expertise. He was personable, positive, knowledgeable, and always explaining what he was doing and why he was doing it. I never felt like he was rushing and always felt someone was keeping a close eye on whatever I was doing to ensure proper technique and body mechanics for successful recovery. He listened and probed for any concerns at each visit. I happily recommend him to anyone I know who has been injured or is recovering from surgery. The entire staff is friendly and professional. I never once doubted that I was in excellent hands. Thanks Steve and Access!

Just finished Access PT in Bedford. You cant find a better place. The therapists are excellent and very knowledgeable. I used Steve. He is absolutely terrific, very devoted to his patients needs. All the therapists work well together. Sean did 2 of my sessions when Steve was not available and was just as great. He knew what was going on with me and treated me as if Id been seeing him all along. Although run very professionally, everyone is extremely friendly. The women at the front desk, Chris & Erica are terrific...very accommodating. I highly recommend Access. Ive been to other PT places and Access is by far superior. I would never consider going any place else.

I went to Access PT for an acute back problem and have had the extreme pleasure of meeting and working with Sean, who is above and beyond the best PT I have ever worked with (and Ive been to quite a few). He is a terrific hands-on therapist, who is really knows his stuff; he is smart, compassionate and treats his patients as a whole person ..not just a back or shoulder or knee! He is not only addressing my acute problem, but some longstanding issues I have from previous sports injuries and is actually really HELPING resolve my chronic pain. The staff is friendly and helpful. I recommend Access PT highly!

Spent 6 months in Access recovering from ACL reconstructive surgery and now Im just about ready to get to playing again, thanks to Steve and co. They were the best physical therapists anyone could ask for, they were welcoming and willing to push me just the right amount to help me reach my goals. Never an awkward moment because they are always ready for conversation about anything. They made PT enjoyable to say the least. Without them I would not be back to my normal health I cannot thank them enough for helping me
