I am in health care. I know all about being busy. I sprained my entire foot, or that is what I was told. I never got to see the x-rays. RED FLAG...!!! Doctor told me, verbatim , " we will give you something for pain, a boot for your foot, and crutches." I had to beg for something for pain. I had to beg for crutches, and the nurse was very rude and non compassionate at all. My foot is bruised and swollen all over.. I never got the boot and was give Tylenol...WHAT!!! I went to the hospital bc elevating, wrapping, ice and Tylenol was what I did at home. Why would anyone waist of time and go through all that nonsense, to be told and given the same thing I was doing at home. And had to sit there elevating my foot by actually holding it. Was never given a pillow to help with elevation. NOTHING!!! It is confusing and just unreasonable for the whole entire stress of going to er, waiting and waiting. Hurting beyond words. I have a leasing on my liver that was just detected. And Tylenol is what my real Dr told me I definaltly did not need to take. The doctor was arrogant no sympathy at all. And the nurse could have helped get my point across and try and talk to him. But no.. it actually made me feel shamed.. I am no drug seeker. But when I hurt, Im not playing. And all I want is not not be in throbbing continual excruceiating pain.. idk know whats the problem with that. Seems pretty reasonable to me. I understand the ones that only want pills and all that, but EVERYONE is put under the same umbrella. That is just wrong. And when you take the time to go to the hospital, when your doing more for yourself at home, and nothing works and you end up with less and unprofessional help at the hospital? This is just wrong, in every way possible. I am extremely unbelievably disappointed and makes my trust in the entire health care system, something no one can really depend on when it is there so the ones that are hurt can trust and believe in, that they will completely help and depend on. Things have changed for the worse, and makes no one trust they will get the care we as human beings deserve and pay for. Maybe this review will help, I doubt it bc the way I feel parkway feels about a human being, and the way I was completely uncared for today is double noted and received.. IT IS JUST A SHAME!!!!!!! I was pregnant and went to see the OBGYN staff. I was considered high risk considering I had a previous preterm delivery. Not only did they refuse an ultrasound that I had requested, they also never even let me see an actual OBGYN. The staff knew my hcg level numbers and they did not do further investigation on them. They did not put forth any effort to make me feel positive I was having a healthy pregnancy. I personally had to call and ask and investigate my numbers on my own. I went on to Madison emergency room because as a mother, and just my gut feeling, I knew something was wrong. Also, I had told them i had been bleeding, not that they were concerned. I went to the ER and found out I had miscarried. Parkway did not offer to do any preterm/miscarriage prevention for me. I am not blaming them for losing my unborn baby, but I am blaming them for the lack of medical treatment and compassion. I will never EVER step foot in parkway again besides the follow up appointment I have to go to. Only because it is now solely for my health, and not for my baby and I. This place will forever be at the bottom of my list. Please .. if you are pregnant and want the best care for you and your unborn, do not consider this one of the places, if at all optional. I think they need more educated and caring staff at this facility.

Wont go back. Will drive to Madison, Athens or Huntsville for care...basically anywhere but here. My father-in-law passed away in this ER. Doctors should have asked for transport to Huntsville as soon as he came in, but he passed away during transport hours later. As for my own experience, I was there 6 hours one time just to get rehydrated from a stomach bug. The doctor was slow as Christmas and he thought he was being funny/smart and he wasnt. Another time, I came in and the doctor on call never said a word to me about my condition and then it was shift change and another doctor came in and didnt tell me anything either. The nurses filled me in. Ridiculous. The two doctors I did see looked as if they came out of retirement to work as they both appeared to be in their late 60s-70s and totally out of touch. This hospital was ranked #23 in the 50 most expensive hospitals in Alabama in 2015. I can believe it as they nickel and dime everything and yet they arent ranked as one of the better hospitals in Alabama so they have no valid excuse for their price increases. If you want quality care with doctors that will take their time and explain things, go to Madison Hospital or Crestwood.

I went to the ER with agonizing pain in my right side. I sat in a wheelchair in a room with no need for over an hour. Then I was moved to a room with a bed. The nurse came in and asked what was wrong. The Dr only came in 1 time never touched me. He told me I had a severe kidney infection based on blood/urine. He had already ordered a shot for pain/nausea meds but no IV. Do after he came in he asked do you want another shot. I said please Im really hurting. He ordered the shot along with writing me some rxs one for pain and the other for antibiotic. The ignorant nurse came in to discharge me and gabby given me the shot yet. So she went back out and 30mins later came back with shot. Then she said you have to stay for 10mins. I understood cauz I dont think they wanted me to react but it was the same shot as before. Then 30mins later my husband went and asked if I could go home. The nurse said I was just coming to get her. She let me lay there almost long enough for my pain shot to wear off. I saw Dr Reddy and he was excellent. My previous experiences with Dr Putnam were horrendous. If they could get some good nurses I think theyd be better cauz I dont think Putnam is there anymore.

Awful ER doctor. I went because I had what I thought was seizures. Had an episode in the room with the nurse. Doctor comes in ignoring the episode, wouldnt let my husband speak (I couldnt form words) and kept asking me why my eyes were dilated. I dont know, thats what I was there for. Doctor kept looking at my tattoos and immediately wanted a urine sample and blood work done. Treated me as a drug addict. Everything came back normal. But the doctor not once asked about the symptoms I experienced, didnt ask about any of that. Just looked into my eyes, listened to my chest and said it was a headache. He wouldnt ask anything other than what is the level of headache do you have. Not once asked about my possible seizure, not once talked to my husband who experienced me having one. The nurse never mentioned to us or the doctor about the episode I had in the actual room with her. Nothing was done but blood work and urine sample. I went in for possible seizures and left without anything but a diagnosis of a headache. What a bunch of crap. Ive had another episode yesterday but I will not go back to this place.
