Our family has been going to Blue Ridge for years. Dr Brooks is one of the kindest people who cares so much about her patients and their families as well as all of her staff does too. They always try to give you options of different treatments that may help your pet to try to save as much money for you as possible. This does not mean they are trying to not do the best for you and your pet , they try to offer a alternative that may give the same benefit as something more expensive. With the addition of Dr Busbee who shares the same values as Dr Brooks, you never have to worry that your pet is not being given the best care. Elizabeth has been there for a long time, if you are not able to speak directly to the Vet, she will do her best to answer any questions and go and make sure your question is answered. She is very knowledgable and knows so much about all the ends and outs of the practice and about just about any problem your pet my have. The entire staff provides kindness and concern and wants nothing for the best for your pet and you. Dont allow some of the reviews that are quick to judge by a single visit or by not taking the time to think that there could have been something else going on that day or with that person before you post negative and hurtful information. Post carefully, this is someones livelihood and not to mention it can really hurt someones feelings and also shed a bad light on this place and people , without trying it yourself. They are busy but that is because of their quality of work and dedication! DC

I have had numerous animals who were all patients of Dr Brooks...for over 10 years. Excellent care, excellent service, excellent Dr. Recently a feral kitten showed up on my property that was obviously in distress, trouble breathing, discharge in eyes. It would not eat or drink and appeared listless. I immediately called the clinic and asked to speak to the office manager. She called me back and I asked if the kitten could be seen and could I please be billed as funds are short right now. I was immediately told "no, we dont bill." Apparently 10 years of loyal patronage with numerous pets count for nothing. Excellent care, excellent service, excellent Dr...but dont let anything happen to your pet while funds are low because apparently you will be turned away. Did this change my opinion of this clinic? You betcha. Will I be looking for another veterinarian whose concern for the health of the animal override the monetary moment? Absolutely. (As an aside, I want to include that I understand that veterinarians work for pay..my point is that a client with numerous animals was turned away when they (me) were ashamedly up front about not being able to pay "that" day and was refused) Shame on the office staff of Blue Ridge, and shame on you Dr Brooks for showing no mercy to your loyal customers.

Although the staff is friendly, the prices are great, and they are willing to let you come in without an appointment, there is one major issue that has occurred. We adopted daisy from Elmore county shelter in novembef of 2012 when she was a puppy. She was incorrectly labeled as a chow collie mix. As she has gotten older, its a little more obvious that she is a golden border collie mix. Someone at blue ridge thought she looked like a nova Scotia duck trolling retriever, and apparently took it upon themselves to change her breed in her file. Fast forward to a month ago when I had to get a blood test done for an overseas move. Not only did they write in her vet records the wrong breed, but they put it on the paperwork for the blood test. Now I have the same dog listed under three different breeds with time sensitive paperwork which may not even be valid

I will definitely be looking for a new veterinarian in the future, because my last two experiences with them has been less than satisfactory. I took my kitten to Dr. Brooks, and while the techs were cleaning his ears, they somehow managed to fracture his hip. Though I was given free services for his injury after that, it has scarred him for life and he is now terrified of anyone he does not know. The last time I took him, Dr. Elizabeth was working in place of Brooks and she had the worst attitude for a vet. She did not seem to care about the animals, but rather about how much money I could provide her with right then and there. While Dr. Brooks seems to care for the animals, the other staff is reckless and unprofessional, and I will never put any of my animals back in that facility for treatment.

Found our puppy not being able to put any pressure on her back, right leg. My wife called and the lady told her they didnt have any appointments for that day but we could bring the dog up there and they would put her in a cage and "try" to work her in. My wife asked if she could wait with her in the lobby and the lady said "no" because you dont have an appointment. The dog doesnt have a cold, it cant walk. We called other vets who told us to bring the dog in, we can wait with her, and the would get her today. We were a client of Blue Ridge for 2 years, well, not anymore. I highly recommend going elsewhere. Poor customer service., bottom line. Our dog is a member of our family but she is just a number to Blue Ridge.

I took my animals to see Dr. Brooks (I hade an appointment for check up as well as one of my animals was pregnant and I needed a little more definitive information on the pregnancy). I left my animals there all day. I had to call them to see if my animals were ready to be picked up. When I picked my animals up, the bill was almost $200.00 (which I didnt mind). However, when you pay this kind of money and are not offered the opportunity to speak with the physician. (My animals were just handed to me) I find this very offensive. This should be a standard practice that each and every pet owner should have consultation time with Dr. Brooks. I will NOT be a customer in the future.

Weve been using Blue Ridge for over 10 years, they truly care about not only the animals, but their owners as well. Dr. Brooks (now retired) was wonderful, and Dr. Busby is super awesome, we wont take our animals anywhere else. I kinda have a problem with the negative reviews on here, it seems that some people arent getting their butts smooched enough by the staff. Guess what? Theyre BUSY. Theyve always worked us in when we had a problem, and yes, weve had to drop a pet off if we dont have an appointment (oh, THE HORROR!). Thats what happens sometimes....but they have always taken care of our pets as if they were their own, and they really do care about every pet that comes through.

Ive taking my dogs to Blue Ridge Animal clinic since 10 years ago. I added two more dogs five years ago. They are very helpful and responsible. They go the extra mile to help you with your pets. Even if they are busy, they will work your pet in. Caring vet and staff, so helpful to accommodate the medical needs of my pets and emergency situations too. It was Dr. Brooks first and now is Dr. Busby, and the manager Elizabeth, who has been there for many years. I am very satisfied and I would not take my pets anywhere else.
