Im giving them a 1 star because I believe this place is very unprofessional, inexperienced and I believe they just want to make money off of you. when the exam started all the hygienist did was measure my teeth with one of their instruments, and after the hygienist was done with that she told me I have a "pretty bad" infection going on in my gums and that my jaw bone holding my teeth in had deteriorated some and that we had to treat the infection with a prescribed toothbrush and a medical wash or more bone would deteriorate. I thought this was weird because ive never had discomfort in my mouth in a very long time. but I brushed it off because they are suppose to be the professionals right? well we continued the exam with the dentists saidI had a very small cavity and was told to "just monitor it for now". I thought that was weird as well. so when the exam is done I was expecting a cleaning and was told (just like i overheard them tell another patient before me) that they do not do cleanings on the first appointment, but I know I was very clear when I made the appointment that i asked if I would get a cleaning as well and was told I would. And I assume the patient before was told the same because she left very upset after being told she wouldnt get a cleaning on the same day. so now when I finally went to be discharged and to make another appointment they was still trying to get my insurance to go through, and they was no problem except that when I was phoning my insurance company to get information for them if was taking a littler longer than expected and during the wait the "finance manager" told me I better hope I can get the information soon cause they close in 15 minutes at 1pm and that she may just have to tell me to come back another day to do this. I thought that was kind of rude. then a little later after that I asked her if they close at 1 everyday and she said that they close for lunch and then she just started ranting about how people just dont understand that her staff needs a lunch break, and I sensed that she was indirectly fussing at me as well. very unprofessional to me. then after we got the insurance figured out I asked about the cleaning appointment and she told me that since I needed a special wash that I was going to have to make a payment of $189 (thats the price after insurance) before I can have a cleaning done with them. and in the middle of all this the dentist out of nowhere comes and change my paperwork to say I have gingivitis. he didnt talk to me about any of that at all. (at this point Im a little sketched out with this place. so while Im leaving I called my insurance to make sure I am covered for another appointment to go get a second opinion because I have always taken great care of my teeth so hearing all this stuff they said was wrong with my mouth didnt sit right with me at all. so I just got back from the appointment I made at the second dentist for a second opinion and they didnt find any issues of the sort from what aspen dental told me they saw, the small cavity I do have is getting filled tomorrow. I was told to "just monitor it" they even did a cleaning before the exam every even started. I do not recommend aspen dental to anyone at all and I think they should be reevaluated to make sure they know what they are doing.

As I sit in the waiting room at aspen now, at 1035 my appointment was at 1000. Finally get back at 1044. Was informed I was having periodanical work done on top of my crowns which I have never been told this, I was told we would do the crowns let me get back from my training for the military in august and we could do the rest. I also have another job that I run 6 different businesses in 3 states and travel so now Im here. Needing to catch a flight out of Birmingham which is an hour away by 230 to travel to Dallas for a conference for tomorrow and they are telling me I may not make it. The only thing I agreed to was having my crowns and bridge installed today and would return. This place will change your appointments without notice (which I could post 4 emails for same day at 4 different times). They seem to want to tAlk to each other than getting their job done. In my business I would release everyone apart of that from my employment and find professional personnel. The hygienist is awesome I told her I needed to catch a flight out she slam, bam got me done. Now Im sitting in the dentist chair listening to everyone else talk about their weekend plans as my time to catch this flight is quickly approaching. I couldve went to the VA and got better treatment than this and their treatment sucks. Im so disappointed Ive literally gave them $3420.00 cash up front plus $1666 discount from being a ppo insurance and another $1444 from my insurance all paid in full. I will never come here again after this for dental work. Smile makers said they would have matched the price and had it done all in one day I had to wait almost a month to get my teeth back to be installed and now Ive been sitting in the dentist chair no one has spoke to me in 20 min so I dont know whats going on. This is just an all around terrible experience and in my 32 years this is the worst. carrier and another 14

I am the granddaughter of Mildred. I called and asked Several questions before I brought my 95 year old grandmother to the Aspen clinic. She is in a wheelchair and has dementia. We needed to get her another top plate for her dentures. The person who was seeing her was very short with us and upset because she could not stand to get X-rays. (why is the clinic not handicapped accessible?!?!) They got her into a dental chair looked at her and then wanted us to go back into the waiting room because they needed the chair. The chairs on either side of us were empty. Then - it blew my mind because they wanted us to bring her back another day to do the impressions. My Uncle was with me and he had to have a discussion with the manager to get the impressions- so they finally did the impression on that visit. We got to the clinic at 8:30, 15 minutes before appointment as instructed and we didnt leave until almost 11. As I stated above I asked questions to make sure this was something that could be done quickly as it is hard to get her from the nursing home to the dentist or Dr. The staff was not helpful- the only person who was helpful was the receptionist. I am not excited to have to take her back a minimum of at least 2 more times. Stay tuned for the second appointment- I will be reviewing that- it will be on Wednesday.
