My first visit to Bethany Animal Hospital was a good one. This animal care hospital was recommended to me by a mobile vet that I had asked to come to my home. They examined by Great Dane, and continued with the prescriptions that the mobile vet had already recommended. When I picked up my prescription at a local pharmacy, I was surprised when given the price of the prescription. I was given a enough of a popular pain medication to last for over a year. I simply paid what was asked for the medication, and didnt think about it. I just guessed that maybe it was okay for vets to prescribe in larger amounts, or that perhaps the pharmacy tech had made a mistake. Then, the BAH office called me, and said something about a mistake. I wasnt concerned because I hadnt planned on giving my dog any overdoses, and didnt want him addicted any more than I want to be addicted. It has been over a year since this prescription was filled, and I still have some pills left, about 20 or so. The monsoon season is upon us, and both my dog and myself are in pain. The heavier air is hard on arthritic joints. I called BAH, and asked for a refill on what they prescribed for Peaches. They said I would need to bring in my dog. I cant do that at this time because he wont be able to hop up into the car, and as I am a 75-year-old female, I cant lift my 165 pound dog. I also have arthritis. Going anywhere even to buy a few groceries is painful during monsoon season. They refused to even prescribe enough medication to get through the rainy season. They went on about legal restrictions. They spoke like the automated voice you hear when your waiting your turn to get through to just about any business these days. I said I would be happy to bring in my dog after the rainy season was over, as he would probably be able to get in my car at that time. In a measured tone, the receptionist, named at first Paris, and now Shana, continued with the same remarks she had already made. She also said that an examination at this point would cost over $200. dollars, and that was no where near what I paid for my first visit. I feel that perhaps this lack of compassion on the part of BAH occurred not because of any legal restrictions on drug prescriptions, but because of the mistake that was made in prescribing the amount of pain medication given to me by the pharmacist. BAH could have helped, but chose not to. Now, my dog and I (I suffer because I have to watch him suffer) suffer because of a mistake they made. I think this is just cause for complaint.

My dog, "Suzy" had an impacted tooth that needed extracting. During the intitial examination by the veterianary aide, I was given the approximate cost of $80.00 to pay for the office visit, and the 15 day supply of antibiotics; which I thought was reasonable. But after the vet examined Suzy and concurred with my own assessment that the tooth would need to be extracted, I was handed a cost estimate of between $350.00 to $550.00, plus the cost for two additional visits - I was shocked! HERES THE KEMPER: She then handed me the bill for that day, which was $83.50. I told her that I only had $80.00 and that I would bring the $3.50 by later in the day. She informed me that that would be a problem. I then reminded her that Ive been a customer there for the last 11 years!!! So, instead of allowing me to pay the few dollars later in the day - she took one of the antibiotic pills out of Suzys pill bottle. and stated that the pills were $3.00 each; and she told me that I could pay the fifty cents on my next appointment. A CLASSLESS ACT!!! VERY VERY FICKLE!!! A LOUSY THREE BUCKS - AND THEY TAKE IT OUT OF MY DOGS PILL BOTTLE!!! THAT WAS THE MOST EXPENSIVE THREE BUCKS THEY EVER MADE!!!

Worst service ever. I took my dog to get neutered last week and my visit before that was to get all the shots and blood work done so my dog could get neutered. I get there and the lady at the front desk stated that my dog needs blood work and that the surgeon may not be comfortable doing the surgery without doing the blood work and I may have to reschedule. I told the lady that my last visit was supposed to have had the blood work and shots done so he could be neutered. She stated that she did not see any blood work in their system and that she was not there so she did not know what happened. I asked her why didnt you guys call me ahead of time and tell me that my dog needed blood work? She replied again I wasnt there so I didnt know what was going on. I asked her why would you guys schedule a dog to be neutered without doing the blood work? Does not make any sense. She left and went to her desk and was on the phone which was very unprofessional. I took my dog and left to take him back home so I can go to work. Thanks to Bethany Animal Hospital I was late to work for the first time.

My pack of 6 have been coming to Bethany Animal Hospital to see Dr. Andre for years. Shes fantastic with them and consistently offers them the absolute best in healthcare. She is definitely in the right profession, because all of the dogs and cats LOVE her. The staff is caring and helpful and the service is always top notch. Prices are very reasonable, too! On the rare occasion that I have to wait, its always ok - because the lobby usually has other patients waiting to see the doctors and great conversations about our dogs always seem to pass the time. With so many vets to choose from, its hard to find the right fit sometimes. I went through several that always seemed to run multiple tests costing hundreds of dollars before a true diagnosis was found for what was wrong, but Bethany Animal Hospital has consistently been very upfront about costs and what is absolutely necessary - compared to what isnt. From a multiple dog owners perspective, there really isnt a better choice in the Phoenix area than Bethany Animal Hospital.

This place may not look like much from the outside, but you will never find a more compassionate veterinary office anywhere in town. Ive been a pet owner for over 30 years, and have had my share of vet visits. During this time, Ive seen the best and the worst. From exorbitant fees, to sub-standard care at other places. I was so fortunate to have stumbled on to Bethany Animal Hospital! The prices are reasonable, the staff kind and compassionate, and the doctors take the time to thoroughly examine your pet and answer all your questions. They even call to ask how the recovery is going a few days later. I love this place, and have recommended it to all my friends. If youre unhappy at your current place, please give Bethany Animal Hospital a try. Youll be so glad you did.

My experience here was horrible. I brought in 2 stray cats, but they werent really stray. They were abandoned by someone in the apartment complex and I had brought them into my home. I needed to get them fixed and was offered it done for free. Well, one of the cats passed away, why I do not know. However, their treatment when we went to pick them up was horrible. They wanted $189 to return the ashes to me, but irregardless, I was responsible for disposal of the cat at a cost. I drove home with a dead cat in my car and in tears from this heartless staff.
