After taking our kitty for a routine spay performed by Dr. Neville at VCA Veterinary clinic --here is our horror story i pray nobody else has to go through..... First of all he called it a successful surgery this worries me because.. how is taking our baby to the ER, undergoing 2 surgeries, being put under anesthesia twice, pain medicine twice, in less than 24 hours a success? Poor kitty has horrible bruising, and was lethargic for a few days with a terrible scar. The VCA HOSPITAL give you a paper after the surgery that says "if you notice any discharge call us immediately". Well after seeing blood from the incision we did call, they said it was normal. Then the bleeding got worse so we didnt call we just took kitty back in. They took kitty into the back, came back in 5 minutes & said "we dont want to do anything to irritate the wound" we asked them to put more liquid bandaid on it or something! Anything! and they said the vet puts liquid banage on it after surgery, so they refused and turned us away. And ACTUALLY referred us to another vet! (this was Friday night right before closing and we got the vibe they just wanted to go home). After calling other vet hospitals they said it was absolutely not normal and to get our kitty to the 24 hour emergency hospital immediately At that point our poor kitty was soaking through a bath towel of blood. our kitty had to undergo yet another surgery and put under anesthesia yet again. because the two staff members that looked at her just wanted to go home on Friday night and didnt handle her bleeding like they should have and as it happens they never even called the vet who did the surgery and alerted him to the situation. after speaking with the vet who did the surgery the next day, (Dr. Neville) he at first validated our concerns and claimed full responsibility. but was overly concerned that the ER threw him under the bus (didnt want to hurt his precious reputation) But at the follow up a week later he actually called the surgery a success, then wants to charge us for what happened at VCA Hospital. So now we have 2 staff members who DID NOT do their job and could have prevented this whole thing if they had done their job instead of wanting to go home on Friday. and a Vet who thinks he should be paid $309.00 for nearly killing our cat! 3 people at that hospital with no compassion for the trauma & emotional distress it caused us thinking our cat may die, and staying up all night with no sleep just to watch her after the second surgery. Missing 2 days of work to care for her, hours spent panicking, worrying & crying in the waiting room at the pet ER til very late at late at night(Who informed us there was no sign of liquid bandage on the incision at all and the incision did not look as if it was closed properly & missing a stitch) And The physical pain our poor kitty went through! And she had to wear a cone around her head and be crated up for far too long. The staff at VCA showed no care or concern. They advertise profusely on their website how they put owner and pet and first. But it is obvious they could not care less and their interests are all about the money. the butcher who did the surgery -who by the way is head of the medical staff at VCA (Frightening thought) actually asked if we woukd take down the bad review. Which means he is trying to hide what he did. So he can do it to another animal, how many pets has he done it to I wonder? Well Dr. Neville has proven to be a horrible vet, and risked the life of our cat, doesnt want others to know what he did. So youll unknowingly take your beloved pet there, and no matter what he or his hospital staff do, they may very well neglect your pet to the point of almost killing it & they will most certainly charge you for it. Do not take your pet here. They do not claim full responsibility as they originally claim. And they do not take care of your babies. Their interests are putting themselves first not you or your pet. they are very unprofessional, and whats worse to have to take your pet to a butcher and pay for it!

I brought my pocket pet here recently to be euthanized, and the whole experience went beautifully. I had never brought my pet in before, but they were very accommodating and even had the vet talk to me before hand to ensure euthanization was the right thing to do. The facility itself was very clean and did not smell of animals or urine, which was surprising. The exam rooms were also very clean, and the front desk staff pleasant. I was most impressed by the way I was handled- putting your pet down is always a difficult time, and the tone through the procedure was just right. I specifically chose this place because they did a two-step method which is very humane versus another nearby vet office I had inquired about. Only downside? They are very expensive- cost was $25-50 higher than other clinics I had called, but I feel I got the best experience here. Recommended.

Arrived at the Taylorsville VCA Animal Hospital on the worst day possible. Too many customers for this VCA to handle. All other Veterinary Clinics had been closed on the 24th of July so this was my only option. Regardless of the lack of staff on this particular day, I was greeted with sincerity. I did not seem like a burden, even though I knew this had been the case. After being brought back to a waiting room, I knew it would be a long wait. I didnt mind since I knew all other clinics were closed. While waiting patiently, I was checked up on by both the Veterinarians assistant and the Veterinarian himself more than once. Dr. Neville kept me assured through the whole visit, even during the wait. Salem, my cat, has been to a few different Clinics and this tops the others. Gladly would return to the VCA in Taylorsville.

If I could give anyone a warning about this place its not to go. My girlfriend brought her cat in to be spayed. After the operation the cat continued to bleed from the incision. My girlfriend then came back to the vet to times to see if they could stop the bleeding the vet refused to be bothered with checking the site. She then took the cat to another vet office at which point all of the linen inside of the carrier was soaked in blood and the cat was cat had to be rushed into the operating room. The initial report said that the previous of that I used any skin glue and didnt use enough sutures. By doing so it put the cats life at risk for bleeding out. So if I can warn anyone I would say never go to this location

Please, if you have an emergency, go somewhere else. We had a very sick dog and we brought him here. After spending well over $700 at this place and we actually got no diagnosis because key people werent there to look at x-rays or give our dog any relief at all. They werent open on new years day and our dog spent all night and day howling in pain. We ended up taking him to Banfield to be euthanized. We got a phone call from VCA days later to find out how our dog was. If we hadnt had him euthanized he still would have been dead by then. Turns out he had some intestinal blockage (our original suspicion since an infant toy was in pieces in his bed) and this could have been remedied with a simple surgery.
