We took our dog there for about 3 years after we moved to CG and they were ok but after the experience we had with our dog, we never went back again. Our then 7 year old black lab was limping so we took him in to see what was wrong. They gave us some meds and shortly after, he started getting blisters all over himself. We at first thought maybe he was biting himself but it soon spread...ALL OVER..there must of been over a hundred blisters on him head to tall. We took him in and they had to shave him and discovered he had it everywhere. Theyd never seen anything like it before & even called all the dr and nurse in to see him. They gave him steroid med to help it but instead of helping, it made things worst...too much to go into detail but to sum it up, our dog lost control of his bladder, he started blistering and bleeding and within a week, we had to make the decision to take him in everyday for a shot which would cost like $100+ and do more tests or put him down and out of his pain. We decided well do what we can on tests, etc but cant spend more than $1000 (hate to put a price on a family pet but we hadnt expect this to happen). They did a biopsy on him and even though the Dr wont come out and say it, the conclusion was that it could of been a reaction of the medication they gave him but they cant say for sure. THATS WHAT IT WAS. I could tell the dr felt guilty as he would call to see how he was doing and saying for us to take him in few times that week but never offering to help or discount on the cost as it would be $XXX for the shot each day. It was the hardest thing hubby had to do but after a few short days after the biopsy results came in & his reaction to the meds, he was in the worst condition ever. We had to put a tshirt on him but it would soak up from the popped blisters and blood. We had to keep him in the bathroom as he couldnt control his bladder and by morning, he would be soaked with his own urine. You could tell our poor dog was sad and didnt want to leave the bathroom knowing he would make a mess. Within less than 2 weeks, we had to finally make the hard decision and put him down out of his misery. He knew, you could tell as if he was saying, its ok. It was the hardest thing hubby had to do as it was his first pet. We never went back to them since. Found out others had similar problems with the steriod prescribed and lost their dogs same way when we started googling online with our experience. This was quite a few years ago but I havent forgotten and wanted to put in my review.

Back in 2010 Dr. Brown performed some amazing surgery on a rescued cat I had who got herself stuck in the moving fan of a semi truck. In 2012 we started taking our beloved dog there. This past Feb we took her elsewhere and they not only didnt fix her ear infection, they spread the infection until she was so riddled with it we had no choice but to put her to sleep. Dr Carlson helped us as best she could and was so incredibly personable and caring. She worked with us right up until the end. A few months ago we brought our new puppy in for his first well-check. Dr Kramer did some weird voodoo, holistic thing with him, told us he has a bad hip, completely ignored the issues with the pups front legs, told us he needed shots every month and left the room. We rescued another dog; uncontrollably anxious Valentine, and took her in for a wellness check. After he checked her I asked if there was something he could do to help me settle her, to lower her anxiety for just a few days until I could get her attention and begin some kind of training on her. The level of stress this dog was putting on me was too much and it was a do or die moment there. Either he needed to help me or she was going back to the shelter. Dr. Kramer told me he doesnt believe in drugging dogs. HE doesnt believe? (His assistant said the same thing) as they walked out te door, leaving us hanging. Who cares what he BELIEVES??? Guess where Valentine went? I took her back to the shelter where her anxiety pulled my shoulder out, only to be told that if I had put her on low-dose trazadone for a couple weeks, I could have worked her out of this. I could have kept that awesome dog who just needed help! So we lost not one, but two dogs in 5 months. Imagine how my sons heart must feel. My elderly father in law takes in feral cats, built them a little hotel even. 2 weeks ago he took one of them in for ear mites and $300 and 2 needless shots, and 3 medications later....he was broke and had to ask for help just to survive November. This is crazy. The people next door to me took their pup there for tooth issues and were quoted $3000, they took the pup home to Minnesota and had that work plus anesthesia administered for just over $300. I just cant see me taking another pet to this clinic. They just dont care about anything but money up there any more. Janet Lopas

My experience with this hospital has been a very positive one. I live in maricopa where we were taking my rescue dogs to a vet in maricopa. I called that vet because one of my dogs got sick from shots he received. I was told to go to her preferred emergency animal hospital in Tempe because she wouldnt see us. I called around and found the casa grange hospital and was told to bring him in right away. Now I had never been there but they made the time to see us. Fast forward they became my new vet. I have had to put three of my dogs down because of unfixable issues. Old age, valley fever, cancer and they were the most caring staff that I have ever experienced. I have recommended them to my friends and colleagues because of the level of caring they give. My dog China is a prime example. China who on a Saturday started having issues with bloody urine. I called and again they got me in immediately. They ran testing that came back that she needed surgery. Not having the amount of money I was faced with the decision of possibly putting her down as well. They worked with me and also gave me information about a program that gave me pre-approval the cost of her surgery. She since is back to normal actually is better than she was before. She also is a rescue but is a part of our family and they cared about that. They have never tried to upsell me when I come in there like several other places have done. The vets and vet techs there are caring people they respected our feelings when we were faced with hard decisions. They even sent out a thoughtful card after we lost Ashton to cancer. Today is Sat the 4th of July holiday. Every vet in maricopa is closed until Tuesday. I call today and casa grand animal hospital is open this weekend. That is very comforting to know because all the issues we have ever had with our rescued animals always has happed on a weekend or a holiday. Casa grande hospital has never let us down. So I want to say thank you to you and your staff for caring and for the sacrifices you do to make sure our animals are cared for in our time of need. You have a customer for life. Georgia O.
