At first we worked with Home Instead once a week for a three hour shift for my mom for some companion care. She had recently lost her husband and her anxiety had increased and she wasnt going out as much. Home Instead was really great about doing their best to keep the caregiver consistent. The caregiver would take my mom out and run errands, go shopping for clothing and shoes or help her prepare a meal. Eventually we grew into having a caregiver take my mom to Drs appointments when I could not go. They could help my mom organize her list of questions for her dr and they could also take notes in the appointment. Then my mom fell and dislocated her hip. After that she required 24 hour care. Home Instead was with us every step of the way throughout all that. The day my mom fell she had scheduled for a caregiver to be there at 9am because she had not been feeling well. The caregiver arrived and my mom didnt answer the door. They quickly called my husband who gave them the garage entry number. They went inside my moms house and found her on the floor and were able to call 911 right away. I was out of town, my husband met my mom at the hospital. The caregiver went with her to the hospital and stayed there. During her stay in the hospital, we had Home Instead caregivers there at night to help her get to the bathroom and have dinner with her. And be there to help with her anxiety. I highly recommend this for elderly who need to be hospitalized. Whenever I had a question about my moms needs after discharge, Home Instead was there to help me process and plan. They were there to help have the conversation about not driving. They helped me understand how to manage the home nursing care that also coming to her home. They also helped be a sounding board for me when I was trying to assess my moms mental decline. I really felt like I had a partner in this process. I felt really comfortable in knowing that they had been through this before and could guide me when I needed it. I never felt like my questions were too much. There was always a prompt return of my call or text. Their caregivers are all trained in how to attend to the needs of the elderly but also have special training in how to attend to the needs of a person with dementia or Alzheimers. All of the caregivers were incredibly caring, competent, and professional. My mom was hospitalized again and again Home Instead was there with her and us throughout the entire ordeal. My mom was discharged to home and shortly afterwards we got her connected with home hospice. Home Instead stayed with us through that too. So we went through the entire gamut from companion care once a week to 24 hour care to end of life care. During this time I was able to learn how much support Home Instead provides its caregivers. For example, whenever there was a new caregiver, it is their policy for one of the managers to go with the new caregiver to the home to introduce the client to the caregiver. Also if the caregivers need anything or have a question at any time during their shift, they can call the office and talk to someone. If needed the person at the office will come out to help out or bring more paperwork or whatever is needed. The caregivers have a communication notebook in which they all write about their shift. Each of the caregivers were diligent about writing notes and then reading them sometime in the beginning of their shift so they could know what had happened the shift before. There were a few times we needed to have a different caregiver. Home Instead was increadibly respectful to both the caregiver and to my mom. Really professional all the way around. I HIGHLY recommend Home Instead.

Dear Scott, As I was working on the survey earlier in the week and had to take a break along the way, moving from my computer and survey. While I hadnt gotten far, they apparently had it timed and took what I had done up to that point. While Ive done that survey before, I know it went far longer than allowed this time, and did not allow me the opportunity to render my final comments on my Caregivers. Please, allow me to give those to you here, at this time. Please, make certain that written copies go into the personal file of each respective caregiver, appropriately - Thank you: ======================================== Back in June of this year, I put the following Kudo forward on Frank S. Today was September 21st(the day I did the survey), the last day of Summer. I’ve had Frank now, for over a year, and STILL, I need to reiterate the following Kudo on him. Please re-read it, and make proper application!! From June & Still applies: Frank S., who is my primary 5 day a week daily Care Giver, is an outstanding, hard working, very efficient, caring, overseeing, & sensitive individual who truly takes his job & responsibilities in a very personal way for my personal well being! He always arrives 5 minutes earlier than his scheduled time, and is the most flexible individual with his availability of going beyond the original schedule of need. When the demand is there, so is Frank!! He is without question, a major credit to the company, and deserves to have this Kudo put into his personal written file . . . please do so!! I would also give Kudos to both Bob D. and Conor S. They too, are always here on time and meet my needs. While the demands on them dont come anywhere as much as they do for Frank, they too, tho, would receive the aforementioned Kudos that Id said. I should also add how fantastic the office staff is to work with.Theyre efficient, warm, courteous and amiable! Its always been top-notch interaction from their top management Evie right on down the line, 24/7!! Ive always had them considering our extremely challenged circumstances, as best as can be, thank you!!

I am a new hire at Home Instead! My husband has been employed for 12 years and he has always spoken very highly of the staff and the clients he has served! He has been after me to join the team and now that I am in my first week of training, I am truly seeing the CARE that shines through EVERY staff member! I look forward to each day of training. Tormay makes each lesson personal for us, and we discuss sample scenarios which really helps me feel so confident upon meeting and serving my first client! The entire staff is friendly and truly cares for us "newbies"! My husband and I celebrated our 25th Anniversary today, and the staff (thanks, Deanna) actually went out of the way to help us celebrate our special day with cake! I can not wait to begin my experience as a caregiver! Thank you Staff of Home Instead, for making all of us new folks feel so very welcome!

“To be fully human one must serve” -Ernest Boyer Professionalism: From the moment I initially contacted Home Instead, I knew there was a difference! The administrator was caring, courteous, and unrushed. She talked about the mission of Home Instead and the personal care our mother would receive. I was immediately impressed and began to feel a sense of peace. It is often not beneficial to compare companies; however, in this case, it is necessary to state we had previously employed another agency that did not view our mother’s care as a top priority. Service as Compassion and Kindness: We referred to them as the A TEAM or THE ANGELS!! They were of different ages and experience levels, but their overriding similarity was the devotion and love they gave to our mother.
