My Brightstar home healthcare provider, Elizabeth Davis, is absolutely phenomenal! She has become my link to the outside world. Approximately three years ago my health became so bad that I became housebound. With difficulty taking care of myself and multiple doctors’ appointments per month, I had become a burden to my family and friends. In May 2016, I realized that I desperately needed outside help. I really dreaded having strangers come to my house and giving me showers and other personal attention, but I knew I just couldn’t do it by myself. But in walked Liz Davis, quiet and unassuming, yet packed with experience, personality and charm. Liz and I worked together to set up a reasonable schedule to take care of my health, welfare and comfort needs, followed by any light housekeeping and laundry tasks she needed to do to keep my home safe and clean. I don’t even have to tell her what needs to be done. She looks around and finds ways to make my life easier. I haven’t felt better since before I got sick. Liz has been a Godsend to me. If all of the caregivers are like Liz, then you can’t go wrong. She has become an essential part of my life. My Brightstar traveling nurse, Regina, has also proved to be a great help to me. She did my initial visit to develop my at-home plan of action. She now visits every couple of months to evaluate my physical status and to determine if my medical program needs to be adjusted. She is also my coordinator with the Veterans Administration. So far she has been able to obtain a wheelchair, a ramp and a gait belt for me from the VA. She has been a great advocate for me with the Veterans Administration. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Brightstar itself. When I decided to get home health care, I called three agencies to determine how much it would cost. I thought I would have to pay for it myself. Only Brightstar asked if I was a VA patient and talked to me about the process of applying for help through the VA system. I did exactly what Brightstar said. Brightstar also contacted the VA, and together we started my home healthcare program. From beginning to end, it was a professional and caring process. Brightstar will help you through the first hurdles. If you need home healthcare, you just can’t go wrong with Brighstar! I promised my parents that I would never put them in a retirement home. When my mom recently had her hip replaced, the doctor wanted to discharge her from the hospital to a senior living facility for rehab. I had heard about BrightStar and gave them a call. Allyn Nock (one of the owners) himself showed up at the hospital and talked with the doctor. My mom was released to the comfort of her own home (and her husband). Allyn, Michelle and the BrightStar team were incredible! They arranged for both skilled and unskilled care, coordinated the in home physical therapy, and even did all the insurance paperwork! I would have gladly paid whatever they billed us, and even that was a nice surprise. It was about half of what I expected! One of the caregivers even baked a cake for my parents. I have gotten to know Allyn and Michelle Nock since. They are the best folks. They are passionate about what they do, involved in our community, and run a great organization. As you can tell, I am a loyal fan and will recommend them highly! As my parents get a little older, I rest a little easier knowing that BrightStar serves our community.

Shelby Toseland is an outstanding caregiver. She works extremely well with my brother and directly because of her efforts my brother is progressing better than expected and doing things I know he would not have attempted if not encouraged by Shelby. She provides daily updates (notes) on his progress and recommends activities/exercise for him to try on days she is not here. Would highly recommend anyone needing in home PT/OT/S care ask for Shelby. You will be extremely pleased.

Ive worked with different home health companies and bright star definitely has taken the lead. My cnas and care givers are vary caring and professional I would highly recommend bright star to anyone . The office trys to accommodate you request as best they can with in reason. As a potential employee, the office staff are unprofessional, uneducated and untrained. Depending on who you deal with, you are told a different hiring policy. They hire you regardless of experiance and put you on the schedule to care for a client before running a complete background check.
