My dog came home after staying with my family in pain. Yelping upon the slightest touch, unable to eat or drink, unable to walk more than a few feet without sitting... I thought she might have something SERIOUSLY wrong... my family pointed out 100s of things that she might have gotten into or that happened... I was terrified. I called several vets including our long-time Dr. who could see her NEXT week. Get this, one vet clinic wanted me drop her off to start running xrays and labs...MINIMUM Cost? $240.00. Well, that sounds like a lot when youre eating Condensed soup 5 nights/week... so, you can imagine my frustration... then, I called Pleasant Valley (PV) Vet. Clinic: I went, and now I must tell everyone! Same day appointments with SPEEDY service: I phoned at 10am, they had an opening at 1:30pm. Upon arriving and completing less than 30 seconds of new patient forms, I was seeing the veterinarian! From car to waiting room to exam room... less than 10min! Love of animals and skill as Veterinarian SUPERB: Dr. Hamilton ran a thorough exam and was focused on the comfort of my animal. He was calm and personable. [*Note: Reading other comments, I agree: No, he is not chatty, but who needs chatty? When you think your cherished pet is seriously ill, you dont want banter... you want focus and a quick diagnosis/treatment!] Dr. Hamilton showed compassion and calmed my pet... quick exam causes less stress for the pup and gives me quicker answers... everyone is happy! So, my dog is well, I am happy, I still have my afternoon and it only took 30 min of my day (including drive) and it cost me less than $50.00... youd be a fool to go see anyone else... Im a Pleasant Valley Vet. client for life, now...

I took my dog to see Dr. Brent Koonce for a checkup. My dog vomited the day before. Dr. Koonce took his temperature and said that the dog looked fine. He then said that he was going to give my dog a shot for nausea. I wondered why my dog needed a shot if he was fine. Dr. Koonce insisted on giving the dog the shot, so I agreed. For taking his temperature, looking at the dog, and administering a possibly unnecessary shot, I was charged 83 dollars. I was charged 38 for the visit and 45 for the shot. I am fine with paying to make sure that my pet is healthy, but 83 dollars should be stretched further than this. Every vet I have ever been to has informed me of the cost of treatment before treating my pets. Dr. Brent Koonce did not. This is the second time Dr. Brent Koonce has pushed unnecessary charges on me without informing me first. In sum, if money isnt a concern to you, then you wont mind Dr. Brent Koonce. He and the staff have been friendly with me. If money is a concern, then do not take your pet to Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic. Based on my experiences, Dr. Brent Koonce is misleading and neither thorough nor informative. There are more thorough, informative, and cost effective options than this clinic for your pet that are worth the extra drive. I will not be returning to Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic.

My family had been taking our pets to Dr. Hamilton for 7 years. Dr. Hamilton has always been kind and caring towards our pets. Ive understood that some of his staff can be a little rash at times, although I havent ever experienced that problem. His pricing is reasonable for someone on a budget. For those seven years we thought he was wonderful, until we found out our cat had diabetes which he had overlooked for what could have been several years. Here is the story: We, unfortunately, had to get rid of our cats due to my fathers major allergy towards them. When we took our cats to the no-kill shelter we found out that one of our cats had diabetes. We were shocked by this. We had noticed for a while that the cat was not feeling her best, and we took her in to Dr. Hamilton at the Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic several times, all of which he had told us that she was fine. There is no way you should miss something as obvious as diabetes. If we had known she had been misdiagnosed several times, then we would have gone elsewhere. Bottom line, I will not go there any more for any of my pets and I would not recommend this vet to anyone.

Incredible staff and service. I have used this vet for my dogs (even Guinea pigs) for over 20 years and I have nothing but praise for them. When my 12 year old lab was diagnosed with cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) his overall outlook was not good. Other vets told me there was nothing they would/could do. Dr. Koonce administered the best treatment possible and he lived 4 times past the life expectancy for that particular cancer. Also exceeded the odds of what his everyday health would be. With my small dog and a new lab puppy, they continue to provide excellent care and service for them. The staff is always friendly and go out of their way to make my dogs feel welcome and safe. As far as price, it is relatively the same as what friends have told me they pay in vet bills. In some ways, less costly and more service. I highly recommend this clinic. You will not regret it.

I have been at Pleasant Valley Vet Clinic for 12 years and my poodles received the best care whether Dr. Hamilton or with the new Vets. Dr. Allison or Brent Knooce. Their staff have always been pleasant and accommodating. The kindness and professionalism I received when both of my toy poodles lost their lives in the same week in Jan 2014 (one I put down because of heart disease and one died from complications to diabetes) showed they cared about my poodles and myself. Both Drs kept in close communication while my poodles went through the process of leaving this world. They allowed me to use a room to hold my first poodle and to say goodbye and the other one died in the night. I wanted to publically thank them and the staff. I will be back in the Spring when I get two new dogs.

This place needs an employee (except Sara) makeover. Im a single dog mom with 2 girls and its unfortunate this place is all I can afford. They keep trying to get rid of me by sending us to a different vet clinic. I called to ask for a wellness blood profile workup on my old dog, and was told "The doc will decide if IT needs one"! WHAT? REALLY? No compassion from ALL those guys over there. Dont ask questions, youll feel like youre taking their time and they have NO time for you. The doc is ok, kinda mumbles and doesnt communicate well. Im sure its because hes also very old with failing eyesite. Bottom line: For meds and shots that dont require much attention or compassion this is your place. If you beloved pet is sick..DO NOT COME HERE :(

Absolutely not. I took my cat there for ear mites and had a fine enough experience. Though the vet isnt the warmest, he was incredibly fast and the price was fantastic. For my latest adventure, I was told I would receive a reminder phone call for my appointment. This did not happen I was late. I was very apologetic about being ridiculously late (totally my fault) but there was absolutely no excuse for how the receptionist and other two staff members at the front treated me. They were just flat out rude, unprofessional and condescending and there is no way I am going to frequent a place that treats customers this way. Am now going to Bellevue and they are spectacular. Apparently, with Pleasant Valleys affordable prices they cant afford manners.
