Wow, people on this Google review page seem to have a lot of hostility, and that seems unfair because I really like the services weve received with Dr. Lopez and his staff. I feel compelled to share our own positive experiences. We first came here when we adopted our dachshund puppy, to have all his initial shots and checkup. Dr. Lopez and his staff were friendly, courteous, professional, and above all else, they showed lots of tenderness and care to our puppy! They handled him so well, and because of their great service weve never had a desire to bring our dog anywhere else. That was seven years ago. Since then, weve adopted another puppy (a morkie = maltese + Yorkie), and Dr. Lopez now takes fantastic care of both of them. Weve also used their pet boarding service, for the times when weve gone out of town; weve used this service perhaps four times and have been very happy with them. Other services that Dr. Lopez offers that weve had for our dogs include: neuter and spay; microchip implants; grooming; dental/teeth cleaning; and certificates of good health for airlines that require that kind of paperwork for animal travel. One thing I like to see is that whenever Dr. Lopez and his staff lean down to pick up our little ones, our dogs stand up into their arms -- they are quite comfortable being held by the staff members here; they dont wiggle around or try to get away; instead, they allow themselves to be carried and held, and thats very reassuring for me to see. I highly recommend Brookhurst Animal Medical Centre. They have been continuously improving their facilities over the years, including updating their signage and their interior as well. Dr. Lopez cares about his business, and he shows this every time he takes excellent care of our dogs. If youre looking for a place with friendly staff and great service, then try Brookhust Animal. Weve trusted them with our little ones for seven years, and were extremely happy with them! Note: if youd like to see other positive reviews, I saw other happy customers on Yelp and Insider Pages. Check them out, and judge for yourself. It would be terrible to let a few unhappy peoples opinions overshadow those of happy customers (who may not be social media-savvy, or feel the need to leave positive reviews on these kinds of sites). All I can say is that if I were to have let these few negative reviews deter me, then I would have missed out on some very nice people and great service for our dogs.

Dr. Lopez, who runs this hospital, has been the best vet I have had since our other vet retired. He knows what he is doing and does not take advantage of the love of a pet and try to make money for himself. As for the cleanliness, this hospital has been there for a very long time and as a building gets older; it is harder to make things look new again. His experience and compassion for animals, even at the end of their life is sincere and obvious to us who know him. I prefer the feel of a small town veterinarian like his hospital rather than the newness of the monstrosity of the state of our own healthcare hospitals. If you want your pet to be cared for with compassion and skill, this is the place for you. My dog is four years old and he has been his only caregiver. And always will be. I was referred to him by word of mouth by someone who adopts and cares for animals and lives in the neighborhood where he is located. And everyone I have SPOKEN to has only good things to say about him. Anyone can write a bad review online, but when it comes to real time, effort and a good reputation here in Anaheim, Dr Lopez is your best choice. And he comes with the enviable skill of being certified to give healthcare to animals besides dogs and cats. You know iguanas, birds and lizards. So don’t make bad reviews because you are unhappy with his very reasonable prices, in my opinion. I imagine you are paying way more and getting way less now that you have to go somewhere else. Not everything is what it seems using only the senses of your eyes. In my heart (the sense I count on) I know he is the best vet for me and has done well by me, my dog Duke (who he tried to save but did not try to charge me more for unnecessary treatments when it was obvious Duke was at the end of his life) and my current dog Turbo who is thriving because of his knowledge of different breeds and most important, his experience! We love and count on you Dr. Lopez!

Our little dachshund mix Django was experiencing frequent vomiting and was not able to keep food down. We took him to Katella Animal Clinic, where we had been going for years, and they dismissed it as a flu after a hasty and unthorough exam (literally just took his temp) and sent us out the door with two different flu medicines and a $45 hole in our pocket for the exam alone, or lack there of. After a couple days, Django was still unable to keep food or medicine down and vomiting bile in the morning. We rushed him to Katella, where we signed in and sat without acknowledgement from any of the three staff members behind the desk. Frustrated, I called Brookhurst Animal Medical Center and was immediately connected to Dr. Lopez, who told me to come see him in an hour. We left Katella and arrived at Brookhurst, where Dr. Lopez promptly took Django to the exam room and thoroughly checked him, asking many questions and sharing possible diagnoses of Djangos condition. He x-rayed him and found irregular blockage in his intestines and advised we leave him in his care so he can monitor him and get him on an IV. For the next couple of days he nursed Django at his clinic (unfortunately no one was there overnight), texting us updates throughout the stay, and concluded the issue was an infection caused by a gastric disorder in which our little guy has trouble passing food. After 2 nights he sent us Django home with medication and instruction for how to continue him in the road to recovery. I shudder to think what condition our pooch would be in right now if it wasnt for Dr. Lopezs expertise and genuine dedication to finding the cause of his ailment. Thank you so much for treating our little guy like a member of your own pack! Sincerely, Anna, Cory, and Django
