Just the best! Personable. Very very Bright! Extremely conscientious and if there is any doubt as to a problem with your eyes, he will get you to a Top other professional for a second opinion. His staff is superb and the office luscious to visit. I have been in Ca for many years, and no matter the cost, I will always travel those extra miles over the hill to Dr. Jays office and will pay out of pocket for services which my insurance may not accommodate. Hes just terrific. Bonus are the free parking...and oh, yes, the chocolate bar upon leaving.

Dr. Schlanger is an outstanding doctor! Not only is he brilliant and very detailed in his work, he really takes his time with each patient. He explains everything thoroughly and there is no guess work as to what is best for you. Even my ophthalmologist says hes the best! The atmosphere in his office is positive and happy--which, of course, comes from the top down. I would not drive all the way from Montebello to Encino for anybody else.

I was referred to Dr. Schlanger by a friend in 1983. Ive been with him ever since. The other reviews are absolutely correct - he loves his job, has a wonderful, friendly staff, easy parking, the latest/greatest equipment and vision techniques, sends out family newsletters, and is an all around nice guy. Weve even been exchanging favorite mystery books for years. Do yourself a favor and give him a try. Your eyes will thank you.

Dr. Schlanger and everyone at his office are very professional and know what theyre doing. I like that Dr. Jay ensures that his exams include regular photos of the backs of his patients eyes to track changes in eye health that may not be immediately seen in vision changes. It gives me confidence that my eyes are well taken care of.

Dr Jay is a skilled Optometrist. He has the most up to date equipment and still loves what he does. It shows in his work. His Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They are always ready to help with Insurance and appointments. It is one of the few offices in my experience that validate your parking! Terrific service - Always!
