My grandmother died a terrible death due to the incompetent care here. Enough said. Oh wait, my grandmother in law almost died here too. Ill go into detail for those who dont believe me. Take all these one-star reviews, go back into your car or force the ambulance to turn around, and find yourself and DIFFERENT, LARGER HOSPITAL. My grandmother started at the FVR in the Emergency Department. Numbness and pain in her feet. She dealt with end stage renal failure for 14+ years, dialysis and all. Shes a tough lady. They admitted her under the pretense of scheduling her for an angiogram in the cath lab. I have a sneaking suspicion they didnt even consider her for the cath lab because she was 80+ years old. One day later... two days later - the Cath lab is still "mysteriously" full and they cannot get her in. They never once recommended transferring her because a potential blood clot is serious business. Had I known better, I would have transferred her to another hospital asap. She then developed fluid in her lungs, the Philipina surgical nurses were rude and not helpful. The vascular surgeon, Dr. Duy Nguyen was the most rude doctor/surgeon I have ever met. She is then transferred to the surgical ICU where she develops and infection and later dies. The nurses in the ICU do a better job in taking care of her, but they act "entitled, snooty, and cold" to any visiting family members. When all hope was lost at Fountain Valley Regional and the threat of double leg amputation surfaced, we transferred her to a local nursing home under hospice care. She dies a horrible and painful death two days later despite regular dosages of Roxanol (morphine) for pain and Adivan (lorazepam) a general relaxant. The only helpful person I met at the FVR was a Japanese pharmacist. She was the only person who could confidently and concisely describe my grandmothers condition and options of treatment. When my grandmother was moved to the East Tower of the Hospital - one (and only one) young nurse was nice. In addition, my grandmother-in-law was treated for her heart condition here - approximately six years ago and received similar (terrible) treatment. She also developed fluid in her lungs and almost died. Had I known that this was the same hospital, I would have moved my grandmother out instantly. Yes, my grandmother was old and ill. But the terrible attitudes of 99% of the staff, treatment, care, explanation of her condition(s) were inexcusable. I cant tell you how many times doctors told me, "Well, she is very old" when I asked about her treatment options. The entire staff has obviously lost all hope in helping patients feel better. Ive contacted several departments at the hospital numerous times to file complaints but I have never received a call or email in return. RUN, DONT WALK! I URGE YOU TO GO TO A DIFFERENT HOSPITAL!!

The WORST HOSPITAL with The WORST SERVICE. Do yourself or your loved one a favor, find another Hospital if possible you needed. The rooms are disgusting and very dirty. The stuff are very rude and unprofessional. Fountain Valley Hospital and specially the ER room has the worse staff and including incompetent prejudice doctors. Each doctors mocks the other doctors for services given to a certain patient. I myself was advised by one of the doctors their that i have been given dangerous medications by the other doctors working in the ER and he was surprised that they would give me such meds. To my understanding, what he is trying to tell me is that the other two Doctors that Ive been dealing with for the past few months are incompetent and are putting my life at risk. Is this something I have to hear from a doctor working in the same ER? Other problems with the Hospital, Doctors at the ER dont even check you. They ask you few questions and send you home with pills. The only other way they keep you is when they want to make money of of you or your insurance. You go in for a headache, they run so many tests on you in order to bill the insurance and make themselves money. Bottom line, Fountain Valley Hospital is a joke. Please stay away from such a hell hole. Most of the doctors are incompetent and dont know what they are doing. They are there to do their 8 hour shift and go home. They dont care about their patients and never treat them with respect. I myself have suffered due to their malpractice and i will be pursuing legal action against them soon. Serious negligence and detrimental malpractice. Fountain Valley Hospital is Horrible. The ER nurses need to poke you 3 to 4 times in order to pull blood. They dont even know how to withdraw blood from the first time. Ask me... I have many bad experiences their. My experience with an emergency room visit ensured I would avoid this hospital at all costs. Again very unprofessional stuff. Dirty Facility and Doctors that are incompetent.

Fountain Valley has the worse customer service and billing practices around. The front desk person doesnt even understand basic medical/health terminology. I was sent here to get a Methotrexate shot due to a possible ectopic because my OB was out of town on that day. I scheduled my appt. online so I could minimize the wait. Once I got checked in, the ER Doctor came and asked me what I needed. Once I told him he said that they dont give Methotrexate shots at their hospital so I was discharged. The ER Doctor called my Dr. and told him that so my OB Doctor sent me over to Orange Coast Memorial to have it done. It was half the cost there versus FV. Even though no services were rendered FV Hospital was still charging me $1904.70 and my portion was $380.94. Once I called the insurance they returned what they took from the insurance and still wanted me to pay my portion. They want me to pay when nothing was done and I had to go to another hospital to get it done. This shows how incompetent this hospital to schedule a procedure or something at their hospital that they cant even do and then charge the patient when none of the services were rendered. They wasted 2.5 hours of my time on Good Friday and then still think they have the right to charge me for a procedure they cant even do. Patients beware. I called to dispute this the first time on May 27, 2014 and I am still getting invoices today in September. I called back to try and resolve this and the rep Nathan was argumentative and just decided to hang up on me. Instead of trying to help he was argumentative and told me I have to pay this bill. I would never recommend anyone to use this hospitals service. Tiffany Thao Nguyen

I have Multiple Sclerosis and so when Im sick my M.S. symptoms intensify greatly, so when I was vomiting for a week and couldnt eat anything my body was in excruciating pain. I went to the emergency room and they had half of the E.R. rooms closed for construction, which I was being very understanding too. But then they put me in a hallway bed and were so full and busy I had no privacy, still trying to be patient I just wanted to see a doctor. I was there for 5 hrs and only had pain meds twice, the nurses were rude and I was in tears. I kept asking the nurses for help over and over. They sent me for cat scan and ultrasound and asked me why was I still crying? I told them I was in so much pain and they told me I had a gastrointestinal infection and cyst in my ovaries that are leaking and causing the pain but they were busy so I would have to wait until they can get to asking the Dr for more meds. And it would be easier and faster to take meds at home and just go?! I was shocked and pissed! But still crying from the pain, I asked for my paperwork and they gave me a prescription for a antibiotic and still with my M.S. going crazy and I was having problems walking, the nurse said you can hold my arm Ill walk you out so you can wait for your family outside. We need the bed!! My primary and neurologist are associated with this hospital and the are pretty good Drs. But I will never ever go back there or refer anyone there in my life! Worst experience ever!
