I wanted to wait a few months too cool off before I left my review. This veterinary clinic would have let my dog die in front of me had I not taken him out of their care!!! Do not go to this veterinary clinic. My spaniel was a patient of the Doctor for the last 2 years or so. One day my wife cam home from work to find him passed out on the floor with vomit all around him. He was grey and cold. She rushed him to harbor pines vet clinic for urgent care. She arrived an hour before they were set to close on a Friday afternoon. My wife called me 30min later to tell me to get to the clinic. When I arrived the doctor on duty told me my dog was sick but nothing life threatening I told the doctor my dog is dying (extremely pale white gums, grey skin/cold to touch, heavy sunk in dehydrated empty eyes) in front of me and she told me he was not dying but should be watched throughout the night and that he was good to go home. I asked if any fluids to help stabilize him had been given and she said "we would have but we close in 30 minutes and it would take more than 30 minutes to administer an IV and bag of fluids". So because the doctor wanted to go home on time my dog did not receive the attention and life saving fluids he should have. Pure Neglect!!! I took my dog away from them at this point and rushed and I do mean rushed... to Access Emergency animal hospital in Torrance. When I arrived they immediately took my dog in and started Emergency care, prep and stabilization for emergency surgery. The following day my dog had emergency life saving surgery to repair a torn lower intestine that had been spilling intestine juices into his body cavity. Access hospital told me he was septic when they got him and was within minutes of dying when I arrived at their facility. All in all I paid the other hospital $8,000 to save my dogs life and they did. He is happy and healthy today!!! After all this harbor pines veterinary clinic still charged me $900 for the 30 minutes of care (or lack of care/ neglect would be a better word). This charge included some medications that Access specialty/emergency hospital said was the wrong medications for this situation. The harbor pines charges also included x rays of my dog. The doctor at Access hospital told me the x rays harbor pines took were completely unusable and blurred and as a result Access hospital had to take more x rays. So harbor pines was going to let my dog die all because they wanted $900. Had my dog passed away this would be a lawsuit not just a bad review. BEWARE!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS VETERINARY CLINIC!!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR DOG ONLY MONEY!!!

Incredible how kind and helpful this place is compared to the big chains that have been buying up all the vet businesses lately. They did something no other vet has done for me- Submitted all the bills to my insurance and advocated on my behalf to get the deductions applied before I even had to pay. (Usually you have to pay the vet in full on the spot, and then make a claim to the insurance, hoping they will eventually give you something, with a lot of follow-up and phone calls needed) The doctor even came to my house on two occasions. His help saved me so much headache, the slight increase in cost was more than worth it. This was the first vet that my 15 year old dog actually liked. I hope vets like this stay around into the future, but so far this might be the only independent place left in the area.

Dr. White is truly a caring and compassionate doctor. The staff is friendly and my dogs receive wonderful care. Prices are fair and I did not feel they pushed unnecessary treatments or testing when my Dog Kai needed treatment for an undiagnosed condition. Dr. White and staff held my hand through the whole ordeal and gave me constant updates and he even provided me with his cell phone number to contact him if I had concerns or questions. Un heard of, I was so grateful. Humans should receive this level or care and service. I highly recommend this practice.

Terrible. 100% Terrible. Staff and Doctors are nice. However, going here was one of my worst experiences. Brought my dog in for 5 months. Our total was around $3,000 and my dog had NO recovery. The Vet thought he had an enlarged heart. The Vet was so focused on this that he didnt see the Cancer until it was to late. It felt like more of a money making place, than a place that cares about your pets. The Doctor never helped my dog,we had to put him down. But he helped us get rid of $3,000.

I first met Dr. White when he came to my sisters home to put her old sick cat to sleep. He was so caring. I was so impressed that when he opened his office I started taking my cats (Lancelot and Gweniviere) to him for care. Last year my precious Gweniviere had gotten sick and needed to be put to sleep. ( She was 20 years old ) Everyone of the staff helped me get through loosing her. I recommend if you really love your pet you will take them to see Dr. White.

Same old story...perform office examination, recommend tests, render tests inconclusive, recommend more tests, make speculative diagnosis, prescribe expensive medication, suggest recheck and more tests later. This was basically my experience when I took my sick pet in, waste of money.

Dr White is compassionate and knowledgeable. I have a cat that needed antibiotics every few months for urinary infections, which several other vets had tried to treat. Dr White put her on special food and shes 100% better. I highly recommend Dr White for any pets needs.
