I inherited issues with my teeth. Therefore, my entire life I have had to go to the dentist with problems or pain. The feeling of dread, anxiety, and down-right panic have been feelings I associate with the word "dentist." As an adult, I have correlated mental health with dental health and so I have forced myself to go to the dentist so that my teeth and breath are not disgusting. This all changed a few years ago when I changed jobs and had new insurance. A colleague referred me to her dentist - Dr. Alyson Emery. I made an appointment with doctor Alysons office and thus, my entire perspective of "the dentist experience" has changed. There is nothing that would make me ever go to another dentist again. I actually lived in Texas for 2 years and made bi-annual appointments to come back to Long Beach for cleanings. I have had fillings, implant work, veneers, cleanings, crowns, whitening, guards, etc. ... If they cant do the work there, they refer you to a couple of people to choose from and let you decide. For a while I didnt have insurance, so they let me make payments. One year I broke my front tooth on New Years Eve and Dr. Alyson met me at the office within a couple of hours to fix it temporarily so I could go to work and not look like a hillbilly. I absolutely love the entire office. Sue at the front desk is one of the nicest people youll ever meet. I see her maybe every six months or so, and she remembers my face and what I am doing with my life from years ago. The hygienists are extremely friendly as well. I am very particular and generally have a million questions. Most people get annoyed because they have tight schedules to keep. Not here. Kaylin and Sue are the Hygienists that I schedule appointments with, and they happily answer every question I have. They seem pleased that I want to learn more and want to better educate myself on my dental health. The office seems to run smoothly and efficiently. I rarely ever have had to wait more than five minutes past my appointment time if at all. I have traveled extensively for work, so I need to be flexible with my appointments. Once, I called on a Monday to schedule a cleaning. Unfortunately, my favorite hygienists didnt have any openings for 2 months! But Sue mentioned that she could add my name to the cancelation list. Two days later, I received a call offering me 3 different times over the next few days with open appointments from cancelations. I refer as many people as I can, and I truly cannot say enough. The place is truly incredible! I highly recommend!

Ive been a patient of Drs. Doug and Alyson Emery for over 15 years, and cant say enough positive things about them. They are caring, professional, on-time, generous (theyve helped some of my friends in need), and available in an emergency. Just this past Saturday, Dr. Doug met me at the office to fix a crown that had fallen off. I could have made it until Monday, but he was going in to help one other patient in need, so, I was blessed to get it fixed right away, and on a weekend. If you are looking for a dental practice that will feel like youve also met new family or friends, I suggest that you look no further.

Dr. Alyson has guided me through a lot. While Ive never had a cavity in my more than 70 years, she has supervised the removal of two teeth and a more important issue, capped my four upper teeth. That had previously been done - badly - by a former dentist. I was NOT happy with the original procedure, and when that dentist said there was nothing he could do, it was Dr. Alyson to the rescue! I have been very happy with all the treatment and experiences Ive had with all the staff here. A great place for dental work!

This is the ONLY dental office to consider ! You are always seen at your exact appointment time which shows that your time is valued. Even though my regular hygienist is out of the office for a while, I still had complete confidence in the new person cleaning my teeth. Emery and Emery only hires the best people from the front desk receptionist to each hygienist and dentist. They TRULY care about each patient and it shows.
