Dr. Jackman and her team (Carissa, Christina, and Shannon) provide the best optometry service, hands down. They take it upon themselves to thoroughly care for and educate their patients. Here are just few of the things I appreciate about this wonderful practice: *Dr. Jackman invests in the latest and greatest tools and methods to ensure that her patients receive the best care possible. She is able to test for early signs of glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eyes, surrounding muscle health... you name it she can do it! *Dr. Jackman deeply cares about her patients and it comes through in the way that she treats and talks with them--with compassion and respect. *Dr. Jackman and team take it upon themselves to show me how my stats compare to last years exam--even more so that my beloved primary care doctors (I just had my annual physical before visiting Dr. Jackman for my annual vision checkup, and who told me about how my blood pressure tracked over the past 3 years? Dr. Jackmans team (not my very good primary care physician whom I had visited the day prior). *Dr. Jackmans team goes above and beyond normal service duties. They inspect my glasses and check on warranties if they notice any scrapes. They also always check to see if my current glasses need any adjustments and do them on the spot. *I never feel rushed at Dr. Jackmans, only cared for. Dr. Jackman and team even happily help customers pick out glasses (if any are needed). What eye doctor does that?? None of my other very good eye doctors have! * On top of ALL of that, Dr. Jackman also follows up with her patients by sending them via email secure, personalized wellness reports, retinal photos, a list of foods that support eye health and good vision, as well as software that helps protect our retinas from blue light from our computers. She also shares with her patients useful and practical information as it comes to light throughout the year. If a patient happens to be taking supplements, they take it upon themselves to check in about how its going--what a team! I have had several eye doctors in my life--all which have been good, but none compare to Dr. Jackman. I love her services so much that even though I moved over 200 miles away last year, I still keep regular appointments with her. If youre looking for the best care, whether youre younger, older, in poor or decent vision, she will take fantastic care of you and your eyes!!

Here is my complaint that I sent to my Vision Insurance Provider. I would NOT recommend this office. The Optometrist was completely and utterly rude to me. First, the eye exam was well over an hour. Then she tried to charge me for a contact eye exam rather than the eye exam for glasses that I wanted. She never asked me what I was there for, I simply told her (while wearing glasses) that I needed a new prescription for glasses. She asked me if I wore contacts, which I do, so I told her yes. So she begins giving me the eye exam and has me do all these things I have never had to do before, such as looking at all these pictures and telling her what I see. It seemed that she performed unnecessary tests as I had already had an eye exam within the last 7 months, and she knew this. An eye exam that runs close to 70 minutes goes beyond ridiculous. After she leaves me for 10 minutes to write up the bill, she comes back and tells me I owe $85.00. I told her I was here for an eye exam for new glasses and I was not going to pay that. So she leaves me for another 6 minutes to "rewrite" the bill and when I go to pay the $10 copay, she begins chastising me in a condescending manner for not telling her beforehand what I wanted. I informed her within the first 5 minutes upon arrival that I was there to get a new prescription for glasses. She snidely tells me: "Well dont expect to get new contacts and have them call me when you make the order because I will not give it to them!" No matter what, I am a customer and the customer is always right, correct? The tone of voice she took with me was inexcusable and unacceptable. After the 5-6 minute lecture and argument I had with her, I had to actually ask her if she was going to give me the prescription for glasses. She replies: "Yeah, well that is going to take a while, I need to type it up." So I calmly take a seat and wait another 5-6 minutes for her to type up 3 words. I would like other customers to have the option to be able to make an educated decision about this doctor before going in and getting treated this way. If I had known beforehand the audacity that this woman had, I would have saved myself the trouble and avoided her all together.

During one night game, I was playing in the outfield and I was having trouble seeing the ball come off the bat. Also, when the ball approached me it seemed to be “knuckling” or shaking. It was honestly the first time I have ever been afraid of the ball hitting me in the face while in the outfield. This happened throughout the game and for the next week as well. Soon after I had my eyes checked by an optometrist who prescribed soft contact lens; this fixed the problem of vision but presented a new problem, dryness and severe eye irritation, especially when in places like Arizona and Nevada. Four years passed, during which I used gallons of eye drops and fought with the soft lens every morning, and then I met Dr Janice Jackman. She told me about Ortho-K; I gave it a shot. I was very skeptical but to my surprise, after the very first night using Ortho-K lens I could see 20/15 again. Without contacts that next day I saw better than my wife did with her contacts in. Before when I would wake up I would have to squint to see the time on the clock, but now from the very moment I open my eyes in the morning I can see everything. Dr. Jackman perfected my lens and I have been using Ortho-K now for over 2 months. Currently I do not wear contacts or glasses during the day at all and my vision is perfect all day long! My baseball games are much more enjoyable and my long rides with my cycle group are better as well. Now the wind is a non-issue. I would recommend Dr Jackman and Ortho-K with great confidence, especially to baseball players and triathletes. They would greatly benefit from being contact free. Thanks Dr. Jackman

This was my first time dealing with Dr. Jackman and Jackman Optometry. I selected her office randomly from my VSP doctors list through my employee site. I am extremely happy that I did. I hadnt had such a pleasant experience at an optometrist office in quite some time. I cant remember the name of the very pleasant young lady that helped me out to begin with and gave me my initial tests but they went by very quickly due to her pleasant and outgoing attitude. After I had completed the initial tests I met Dr. Jackman. She also had a very welcoming and pleasing attitude. She made me feel at home in her office. I received a very throuough exam seeing how it was my first visit to the office which also went by very quickly. We chatted and I got to know her on a more personal as well as professional level. I really enjoyed the time I spent in the office. After my exams were all complete Dr. Jackman helped me to pick out frames for my new glasses. It had been years since I had a new pair of frames so I had no idea what to search for. She took the time to help find frames that would actually fit my tiny head and narrowed down my selection. After we did that Chris helped me along with narrowing the results to one pair and then went over all of my costs and insurance coverages. Overall the experience was delightful and I will continue to reccomend my friends and family that are in the local area. Thank you to Dr. Jackman and her amazing staff
