I booked an appointment several months ago and had my eyes examined for contacts. I met the Dr and did not like her from the get go. I felt rushed and she over talked and interrupted me every time I attempted to speak. After getting fitted I then went to the front desk and paid my balance in full. The remainder was going to be billed to the Insurance. I received a call a week later from one of the employee there explaining that she made a mistake when giving me the balance of my copay. She admitted that she did not understand my Insurance and she quoted me the incorrect amount. STEPHANIE said before I picked up my contacts I needed to pay an additional $41.50 dollars. I became upset only because she admitted several times during our phone conversation that it was their error. I called and attempted to speak with the Dr, however the staff there said that the Dr, does not take calls in reference to complaints. After going back and fourth with the Office Manager I got no where with her besides her bad attitude and big ego. I attempted to send the Dr. an email explaining the situation because I felt like she would be concerned with the way her staff handled this situation. I never heard back from the Dr but did here back from the Office Manager again saying that my contacts would not be released until I paid this amount. Needless to say it was been several months and I decided to give in and pay the $41.50 so I can just get my contacts. I called to make sure that they were available for pick up and the the Office Manager Stephanie gets on the phone and says because I have waited 3 months to pick them up I must also pay the $10.00 shipping fees they incurred when they had to ship them back. So lets see here!>? You mean to tell me you havent called me to see when I planned on picking them up so you send them back and you want me to pay after everything your office has made me deal with? Well after asking her if she felt like if charging me $10.00 was a good business move she said " she would waive it as a courtesy. Point of my story I would not reccomend anyone to this practice, I figure if the Dr doesnt care then why should her staff, and believe me they dont! This place is overpriced and unworthy of peoples hard earned money!

Let me preface this by saying I had seen Dr. Patel as a patient prior to the experience I am about detail here. I found Dr. Patel to be highly competent physician. She spent a good amount of time reviewing my test results and explaining the findings to me. In November 2013 I returned for my annual eye exam. My Rx has changed slightly (Dr. Patels words). I chose to get my new frames and glasses from Vision City. I received the new lens approximately 2 weeks after Id chosen my frames. I was feeling some eye discomfort with the new lens and difficulty focusing properly. Initially I chalked this up to my eyes adjusting to the Rx. However, when I was still experiencing these issues after 3 weeks at Dr. Patels suggestion I went back in to be reexamined. After the 2nd exam I was told that my Rx was correct, as was the positioning of the alignment of the lens. The explanation given to me by the staff member I spoke to was to continue to wear the glasses. My ‘brain needed to be trained’ to become accustomed to the new Rx. When I told her I hadn’t experienced this problem with the glasses I wore prior to purchasing at Vision City I was told by the same staff member that those lens were probably from a ‘private label’, therefore they couldn’t tell me why I had no problem with them. Also, that my previous lens where ‘probably a higher quality’ than the new ones. Interesting, as when I was selecting these lens I was told the quality of my selection was something I would not find from a ‘big box’ provider. Also curious because the lens I had were purchased from a ‘big box’ provider, Eye Masters (now VisionWorks). I was offered the option to have Vision City rework my lens at an additional expense to me. I declined as I had no faith the issue would be corrected the second time around. It is now January 2014, I am still having headaches and cannot properly focus with the ‘higher quality’ lens I purchased from Vision City. I am going back to VisionWorks and have their lab rework the lens properly.

I have changed my rating since last week. After leaving a 1 star rating, I received a call from Dr. PateI. She listened to the issues and followed up with the Healthcare provider to clear up my options on how I may use my benefits. Also, she explained to me that they could not continue to offer a 15% discount but would honor it this time only. Also, she gave me a complimentary 30 day supply of daily contacts for the inconvenience. I agreed to edit my initial review because customer service is EVERYTHING! I can understand policies or anything else, but when there is no one on the other end listening, problem solving and working to keep me as a valued customer I get enraged! Now, if you can coach your staff to extend the same courtesy. Thank you Dr. Patel for saving a customer! We need more of this in the Dallas metroplex. Ive been coming here for my contacts for 3 years. I discovered last year after reviewing my benefits that I was not getting the 15% discount provided to me for the contact purchase. I had to bring it to their attention and even then they only gave me a credit for the amount. This year I reviewed my benefits and discovered I could use my $130 benefit amount towards the $81 fitting fee. Also, I done some research to find the daily wear contacts which was Dr. Patel only recommendation was $25 less expensive per 90 pack elsewhere. When I brought all of this to the front desk clerks attention, she got short with me and said if I didnt like the prices I could go somewhere else. She never checked the system to see if perhaps the prices dropped... she never offered to call to verify insurance benefits. Her response... you can only use your benefits towards contact lenses. She cut me off while I was calmly trying to explain myself and transferred me to The Office Manager which seemed very unconcerned with my dilemma. With this type of customer service, you all will not last!!

I went for adjustment to my rimless glasses after daughter crawled on them, and the lady who was trying to fix it BROKE my glasses and then said, we are not responsible for the breakage..I was like WHAT THE F***, you broke my $600 pair and now you are not taking ownership of it?? Anyways, I had to get another pair made without any compensation for my broken pair. Now, I was was left with no choice, but to use my insurance and get another pair made, for which they charged another $250, AFTER insurance and AFTER breaking my $600 pair. After I purchased the frame, I found them online for less than half of what I paid AFTER using my insurance deductible. Holy Crap! This place sucks the money out of you. Sorry Dr. Patel, I am not coming back and not recommending Vision City to another...It was a complete RIP-OFF. Its very disappointing to find doctors like this, when they should be taking responsibility for what happened because I came there because I trusted that place. Not anymore. You were my family doctor, but sorry you lost your business and reputation...Folks, go somewhere else...and dont buy any frame from that place, you will find the same one online (and genuine) for less than half the price.
