Ive been a patient with Preferred dental since 2008 and ever since I have to say, the staff has been very professional. Like many, I have spent at least a few grand$$ out of my pocket to cover for my procedures. However, one thing we need to understand is that that at least 90% of dental insurances only cover for metal crowns and basic procedures, and if one wants to have ceramic crowns or a combination of both, among other cosmetic work- those procedures run at a premium (dental work is expensive and there is basically no way around it). However, all these procedures were necessary, as thru my previous dentist I had spent insignificant amounts of cash but the issues were not treated, and yeah they were cheap but so was the work and the materials they used. When you get to this place, right away you get to see their equipment (high-end) and you quickly identify how up to date they are with technology. They have the most sophisticated tools and digital equipment to determine what a patient has and needs. When I began with Preferred dental, I was told that I needed work done; a kind and very professional lady by the name of Guille explained my options which made it easier for me, as I was not planning to spend my life savings. She told me about "Flex spending," and explained how that worked; in the end I ended using that option thru my employer. All my work was done in a few sessions and since then Ive only been in for routine cleanings as scheduled. Later, Guille moved to another place and another lady by the name of Alma (again very kind) continued to help me with my other procedures and paperwork. In regards to the service, I wanted to add the attentiveness of their staff. In one occasion when one of my crowns was replaced one of the dental assistants gave me a call after I got home just to check up on me and see how I was doing, and another call a few days later just to make sure things were going well and I wasnt experiencing any pain. Who does this, really? Anyway, it was a very nice gesture and proved to me that they really care for their patients. They usually call me to keep me posted on my next appointment, and they even have cool electronic system that sends a text message along with an email a few days before your appointment to ensure you dont forget. Lastly, I wanted to close by saying that...if your experience with other dentists has been great and has cost you pennies on the dollar, perhaps Preferred Dental isnt for you. As your expectations for service may be lower and you may be surprised by some of their high prices for premium cosmetic work (I must emphasize this), just know that they offer better materials, better service, and thats just how things work. (Its basically like drinking a glass of House Vodka and comparing it to a glass of GreyGoose, they are both Vodkas but Greygoose will be softer to the taste and as a benefit wont give you a hangover- you get what you pay for.) The bad reviews Ive seen here are pretty much in regards to price, and truly I disagree to base a one star rating because of price, what about service, attentiveness, work, everything else. Honestly, to give an opinion on any subject one has to be informed before we can truly give a point of view that is both concise and realistic so that it can add value to the reader. Anyway, this is starting to sound like one of the many papers I wrote in college so I should end it now. I hope this was helpful, as for me I will continue to use Preferred Dental as the place of choice for all my dental needs. Regards, Alejandro

My first impression was excellent, the latest equipment, digital cameras for closeups of each tooth, electronic X-Ray film, etc., HOWEVER I had two root canals at their affiliate which were performed to my 100% satisfaction, and when I returned to have caps installed, their office manager Guille informed me that what I wanted were CapTek brand name caps, not a covered benfit under my plan $850.00 ea. cash out of pocket When I asked for the covered porcelain fused to high noble metal crown, Guille showed me to the door, no temporary fillings, no protection of any sort. I did my homework and after several calls to my insurer, Delta Dental I discovered that CapTek are indeed now covered, $180.00 co-pay. Guille refused time and again even after weekly many, many, many phone calls from myself and Delta Dental representatives, documentation directly from Delta identifying CapTek by name as a covered benefit, meaning that Preferred Dental is CONTRACTUALY OBLIGATED to provide CapTek at the patients request for the specified co-pay, period. Guille continued to refuse, then delay under the pretext that Preferred had not received the "official documentation" from Delta even after Delta faxed and mailed as specified in their contract repeatedly. In the end, I lost BOTH teeth. I recommend to one and all to never, ever do any business with Preferred Dental. The only place they will ever see me again is in court. James Dolan

3/18/10 I went to this office because they give NEW patient special $29.95 for x-rays, exam, consultation, oral cancer screening & routine teeth cleaning. I had one missing front tooth need consultation, had couple X-rays there & recement the bridge back to the front tooth after the consulted with Dr. Yue (who claim NO involve with office admin.) However, after the service, the office collect the fee total $248.00 to cover recement including $29.99 special for x-ray, exam & consultation. The staff told me theyll refund me the overpayment after claim paid by my insurance for recement. Later, I got the explanation of benefit from insurance company that $51.60 is my portion to the service. I called this office regarding refund of $196.40 but the receiptist was rude with yelling voice, said office manager will call me back. There is no one calling me back regarding this issue, I have to call several time with no response. After couple of weeks, I got office manager call back however, the office manager said she need to claim more on my insurance... and dont agree with what was allowed by insurance company fees standard... I had Aetna Dental PPO. Please be aware their fee standard. Its not like what I had with my regular dentist who agree my plan is good.

They have the latest equipment, but they always overcharged me. Everytime I went I had to deal with the secretaries because they always said that my insurance did not cover even if it did. On January of 2010 they had told me that I needed gum surgery, so I went to Orange Hill Dental for a second opinion. There the only thing that they recommended me was to go to get a routine teeth cleaning every 3 months. Yesterday I went for my routine teeth cleaning at Orange Hill Dental and they told me that my gums are healthy. Please avoid Preferred Dental Care as they overcharge patients and invent treatments that are not needed.

My visits have been great. We have been treated with the utmost respect from Dentists and staff. They go out of their way to make us comfortable. My husband at one time got a second opinion and it was spot on. I have also talked to our insurance company and once again spot on. I love my personal dentist here...Naresh Dialani, D.D.S. Awesome!
