I went to Positive Energy and saw Lenae on the recommendation of my doctor. If you are really serious about healing and getting stronger, I highly recommend Positive Energy. Ive been to other PT offices and the therapists at those places always have multiple patients they are working with. So they just setup you up on an exercise and then leave you alone to do them. When you are done with that exercise, they come back and move you onto the next exercise. Positive Energy isnt like that at all. Lenae was one-on-one working with me and making sure that I was doing the exercises correctly. She was more like a personal trainer than your typical therapist. The name of this place is very fitting for the vibe you get there. There really is a lot of positive energy floating around. The therapists there are all very into fitness and I was really inspired to get in shape. I weighed 185 lbs when I started going there and Im only 5 5"... so I was quite a bit over-weight. As I worked out there, I got more inspired to exercise more. I started walking everyday for about 3 months, but then that was taking to long to burn any real calories. I wanted to start running but was afraid that my back couldnt handle it. Lenae told me that there are techniques to running where you wont hurt your back. They have a treadmill setup with multiple cameras to analyze your running style. She helped me adjust my running technique so that I wont injure myself running. I started off by just running 2-3 miles and that was really tough. But after only 2 months of working with Lenae and adjusting my running style, I actually was able to run more than 13 miles! It wasnt that I got stronger, it was the running technique that she taught me. I completely credit her with helping me increase my distance. She taught me to run with my glutes instead of my calves. This made all the difference. Running became effortless and I started to really enjoy it. After three months of running, I lost 20 lbs. I was down to 165 lbs! (I use Endomondo to track my runs. I posted pics of my first run and then my longest run. They are only about 2 months apart.) Its been about an year since I finished therapy with them. Ive been doing remodel at my house for the last year and havent had time to keep running. I put back on some weight and my back is starting to hurt again. Im planning to see my doctor soon and probably will start PT again with them. My remodel is almost done so its time to get back into shape!

Positive Energy: Physical Therapy is amazing! I could write a novel about how they helped me & continue to support me. As former college athlete, I have spent a lot of time in training rooms rehabbing injuries. The best people are the ones that care. That is what Positive Energy does best. THEY CARE ABOUT YOU! Their entire team is awesome but Lenae Cain-Sexton is the absolute best. For the past few years, I bounced around doctors office and PT places working on chronic knee pain that prevented me from being active. Lenae analyzed my running & walking movements. She created a plan and encouraged me every step of the way. If I hit a roadblock then she found a way around it or a way through it. In the past year, I am back to running, playing Volleyball, running around when coaching youth lacrosse and surfing. I couldnt have done it without her help.

I originally chose Positive Energy for my PT due to location (right down the street) after my ACL surgery ... and I am glad I did. Overall, it is a small yet effective location and everyone there is great. I got Matt as my therapist and couldnt be happier. He is an awesome therapist, extremely knowledgeable about the human body and very energetic. He knows literally hundreds and hundreds of different exercises and stretches that cover the entire body. We worked our way thru my post surgical knee with basic stretches and then worked up thru strengthening exercises and running. Anytime I had a problem or concern, he was very attentive and worked with me to fix it. I come away from each session felling stronger and better. I would recommend him (and Positive Energy) absolutely.

The staff here is very friendly. The physical therapist gives you undivided attention the entire 40-50 minute session. They allow me to come in 15 minutes before my session starts to warm up and use equipment, and they can write workouts for me if I want to stay late. All the therapists know every client, not just their own and its a warming feeling. My therapist even made me coffee one day. Ive been to 5 other physical therapy locations and none of them have been this loyal to my success as an athlete! Its a small venue but they make up for it in creativity! My therapist and I will be outside sometimes. They all love the South Bay, and if you do too I highly recommend this place!

Positive Energy is definitely worth a great review. Therapists work one on one with patients the entire appointment, Ora and the front desk staff make every effort to acommodate appointment schedules. My 12 year old suffered major rotator cuff injury while swinging a bat. He had surgery to repair the torn tendon back in September of last year. Matt did an awesome job gradually adjusting the exercise program based on progress. After working with Matt for 3 short months, my son was able to go back to playing travel baseball and hitting harder than before. Id definitely recommend this place to any athlete willing to work hard to make a full recovery.

I could not have more positive things to say about the trainers at Positive Energy. I am an injury-prone college athlete and have seen dozens of doctors, trainers, and specialists, but these folks by far have been the most personal, understanding of individual differences (whether thats fitness goals, ability, or even financial situation), and professional (without being unapproachable!). I have never felt as healthy and strong as I have working with them and can always count on them to support me through my training even when I am not in town anymore. They really are more like coaches than trainers.

If you want to get back to an active life after injury or surgery, or just want to make your athletic experience stronger, Positive Energy is the place. They have brought me back from an almost two year injury. We are working towards longer distances after competing in some shorter distances. Its a great team to be involved with, I highly recommend Positive Energy!!
