Place is outdated, needs a remodel, beginning with Staff. Took my dog for what I thought was a simple, quick in and out Rabies shot to renew license. Waited at counter for a minimum of 20 minutes before a employee came to ask if I needed help??? That should of been a sign for me to turn around and walk out the door, however I bit my tongue and waited it out (since Ive been taking my two dogs here for years). After she filled out my paperwork we were called in to a room within 5 minutes (max) and vet assistant gave my lil Maggie her shot ( shes a Chihuahua). We were told to wait in waiting area for our receipt and shot certificate. We waited for another 45 minutes minimum before we were called up to pay and get our paperwork. Wow I have never experienced this kind of horrible customer service in the last 12 years of coming to Dr. Butchkos. The Doctor is very good, however he isnt around much lately ( or at least the last few times Ive been here before he was not in) i dont know what his status is, but despite the horrible customer service and long wait that seems to be the norm there, it seems that hes always busy. I live close by and drive by his clinic often and see people standing outside waiting in line to get their pets needs taken care of. I was very very disappointed with this last visit, and will probably thinks twice next time I need to have my pets looked at to come here. He built a brand new big beautiful new clinic next to the existing one however its been sitting there for the last few years empty, ???? So after approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes later , my lil Maggie , my 5 yr old son, and I were walking out the door with our Rabies Certificate. Wow what an experience, I hope I dont deter anyone from coming to Butchkos, like I said hes a top notch Vet and knows his animals, but he needs to do something with his customer service, and hire more help....

There is a reason people wait hours to be seen here. The vets are the best at what they do, they dont try to charge you for things that are not needed and their prices cant be beat. My typical wait time from start to finish is usually around 3-4 hours on Saturdays. I drive over an hour to have my bulldogs seen here after a local vet told me my girl had congenital heart failure. Came here for a second opinion and found out that the noise the 1st vet heard was just from her soft pallet (which we already knew about) and that her heart was fine. If you have never been here before let me explain the process. After checking in at the front counter you will be put in 1 of 2 categories. The 1st is for pets who just need to see a vet tech for simple things like shots. This wait is usually the quicker one so dont start yelling at the staff because someone who came in after you was seen before you. They are probably in this group. The 2nd is for the pets who need to see the vet. This is usually the longest wait. Both the vet techs and vets are on a 1st come 1st serve basis. Once you get called back, the vet arrives within minutes. Once your visit with the vet or vet tech is complete, you will be asked to go back to the waiting room. This gives them time to get your RX filled, paperwork complete or get anything else you needed. You may need to wait about half an hour or more at this point because the staff may be busy an unable to check you out immediately. Keep in mind, 1st time patients must pay in cash. A couple of tips; 1: If you go on a Saturday get there before they open and bring a chair. 2: If your pet is having an urgent health issue, go somewhere else if you dont want to wait. 3: Bring something to occupy your time and to entertain your pet (it may be a while). 4: Patience is a virtue and this place is worth the wait so relax and wait for your turn.

Had the worst time of my life, my dog has heart problems, previous doctor, charged 300, to take an ex ray. She told me to buy medicine in Target is cheaper. She was nice... I paid 40.00 in target for 3 Months, Try to get a refill, the new doctor, treat me very bad, treat me, saying that he would not prescribe any medicine and send me to heart specialist, I told him I am unemployed. the dog is 18 years old, I do not have money to go to heart specialist. I paid 52 dollars came home with 6 pills, went back, after 4 days, to get the prescription, and the first doctor was not there again He saw the dog is doing fine, but said he wants blood test, to give me the same prescription. blood test 135.00 I told him I do not have the money, they made me wait an hour, no prescription, when I asked , they said the doctor was not going to give me a prescription, e offer one month of medicine from their pharmacy for 187.00, I bought 3 Months at target for 40.00 They refused, unless I paid for 135.00 of blood test, that first doctor never asked for that. When I said it is to expensive, they took 20 minutes and came back with pills for 6 days for 50 dollars. I was very upset. because they did everything to make very hard for me. I had a discussion, Finally I said I will pay for the blood test., But the bad doctor came and said, we are closed now, you cannot pay for anything. and I complained., they asked to live or they would call the police. Came home, without medicine for a dog that he needs for his heart problem. In my view this was a attitude of a monster.. I told him that as I left.

My bulldog had passed during surgery. She had complications from her cesarean. We had take her previously to another vet and she didnt get better. Dr. Butchko did they best they could. Her pups were only 3 mos. old and one got Parvo a couple of days later. Dr. Butchko didnt charge for the surgery when our bully expired and he even paid for the cremation. To top it off, they split the cost of the Parvo cost. Id say they saved me a couple of grand. What other vet would do that? We would NEVER go anywhere else. We will be life long customers. Its always worth the wait.

My Puppy Was Perfectly Fine Until I Took Her To Dr Butchkos . She Had Came Home With Parvo... The Place Is Very Dirty! Unsanitary. Just Filthy. If They Had Kept The Place Clean, She Probably Wouldnt Have Gotten Sick. This Lady That Was Working There Made Rude Comments When My Dog Threw Up. My 4 Month Puppy Was Always So Happy & Playful & She Was Part Of Our Family. The Day I Took Her There Was The Day She Got Sick. I Wouldnt Recommend Dr Butchko To Nobody. Sadly She Passed Away 3 Days Later... RIP BABY GIRL.

Highly recommend this facility. The entire staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and they are very efficient. We have a Shar-Pei and have had horribble experiences with vets out in the South Bay Area, we were referred to Dr Butchko by a friend and will never take our fur baby anywhere else. Word to the wise it is a first come first serve facility so get up, check in when they open and wait your turn. We have never had to wait an excessive amount of time by coming in early plus they are worth the wait.
