My cats and I are treated very well by PHoNP. Ive been coming there for 15 years with my cats, some of which have been rescues. I know some of the vet techs by name and several of them have won my respect and appreciation. Alex seems to read my mind as to what I might need in preparation for an upcoming appointment or an outside prescription order and will always follow through with what she says she will do. Kevin is a god-send in his expertise with handling the cats and has helped train me on giving medications by a daily visit with my less-than-cooperative cat to have Kevin give her the medicine with me observing. Now both she and I are very well trained ! Lavonna loves the cats and is a very experienced and educated vet tech, as are Kevin and Alex. There are others there newer to this pet hospital, that I have been impressed with as well but have not learned their names. The newish doctor, Dr. Constantino, is gaining my respect and appreciation with his abilities and caring. My cat had an abscess for which she needed surgery to stitch and drain. The sooner the better to get her out of pain and infection, and get healing. He fit her into the busy schedule the next day. I was very pleased with the result. Hobo healed up very well and is running around now two weeks later , happy to have her e-collar OFF. I would have to say that these vets have been willing to work with me at my level of finances--sometimes I cant afford something and I say so--there is no judgement; sometimes Dr. Osawa provides a discount. And they discuss with me each case as it comes, without second guessing me as to what I might agree to. That has made all the difference. Dr. O has given me his cell number for the serious situations also. Dr. Osawa is a very understanding guy and is very competent in his diagnoses. Ive always felt supported and that he had my cats best interest in mind. He also is very willing to give me the test results, such as X-rays, ultrasound findings, blood tests, and urinalyses. Also the substitute vets in the past were pretty impressive folks. Two were people that have been vets for the Feral Cat Coalition from way way back. Very great reputations. I know my three cats are in good hands with the Pet Hospital of North Park.

I took my Border Collie into this office because the breeder I bought him from had a 1 year health guarantee, so I told her I would take the dog to her vet and she would help pay for some of it. Well THANK GOD she did! If you care about your animal I suggest going somewhere else. I was told to show up almost half an hour earlier than any employee, I was not happy about this either, and when they did show up it was the least organized clinic I have EVER been too. People who showed up 45 minutes after me were getting seen first. LAST AND CERTAINLY NOT LEAST- when the vet went to remove the testicle from my dogs abdomen she cut into his lymph nodes because she "thought it was the testicle"- Are you freaking kidding me? Youre a vet and you dont know where a dogs lymph nodes are? Ohh yeah and when they spayed him and stitched him up, they did it in a way so that my dogs dick is crooked and hangs to the left. This place is a SCAM. If you care about your animal as if it was your son like I do then you wont give this place a second of your time. I strongly considered going back in and raising hell. ohh yeah theyre not very friendly either.

Dr. Osawa did cut a deal with a puppy store (Pupparazzi) and I had to bring my dog here to comply with the puppies purchase contract. The female doctor who works here is very professional and knowledgeable. However, Mr Osawa is very focused on SALES and not the health of the animal itself. Today I brought my dog in for a general check up and he was trying to sell me on an X-Ray for the puppies hips for $160 plus anastesia for $75. My puppy is only six month and waddles a bit, no reason for an X-Ray. In addition, he tried to sell me Ear-Solution, Eye Drops and a test to see whether my dog has Dry-Eye for $100. Please, remember my dog was just taken in for a general check up. I feel that this clinic always tries to take advantage of you and sell you on something. I belive that they probably have cut some deals with pharmaceutical companies and try to reach their quotas. Anyways..I will no longer come here.

Horrible experience. They need to tend to the whining dogs in the back. While this was happening there was about 5 employees joking and hanging around near the front desk. Fix the air conditioning. Yes it was a very hot day but I shouldnt be sweating inside the office, makes me wonder how comfortable the dogs were. Then while talking to the vet I felt like he was a salesman, he mentioned so much b.s. I needed I almost started to laugh. Initially they told me to bring my dogs records.. once there, they started to say all these tests I needed that were recently done but never asked for the records.. once I showed the records the response was "oh" I then was sent to the front desk to pay and make another appointment. once I paid there was no mention of making another appointment so I didnt mention it either, I just left

Service definatley NOT worth the price at all. Had a voucher from Pet Assistance for $25.00 off neutering for my kitten. They said neutering was $40.00, but what they dont say is that they literally mean for the act of snipping scissors and NOTHING else. Got there and they wanted to charge me $160.00 bucks!! They were trying to charge for things that the doctor admitted they do anyways like pulse monitoring...wtf. I ended up having to do away with fluids, and bloodwork because it was just to expensive and was way unprepared for what they threw at me last minute. The vet didnt even introduce himself or tell me his name. I just didnt feel like the doctor cared about my kitty very much, more wham bam thank you mam than TLC. Just go somewhere else...your pet probably deserves it.

Dr. Osawa and the rest of the group at Pet Hospital of North Park have been fabulous to me and my two 5lb. Yorkies. Lady Bug and Muggsy love him and his crew, who are caring and so wonderful with your animals. Anyone that says one bad word about Dr. Osawa and/or any of the good folks at the Pet Hospital of North Park, dont know good Vet care. And they are almost 1/3 less than I was paying for dog health care from a Vet in La Mesa. I was tied of paying for this Vets kids braces and found Dr. Osawa to be reasonable, AND a wonderful Vet. He will not over charge you for any "pretend," things like most Vets do. He is a great doctor. I would highly recommend him.

My dog was attacked by a pit - and this was the place that saved him. I went in there practically hysterical and it was all a blur. They handled the "emergency" quite well, especially for not being an actual E R. The doctor there was great, he has a positive attitude and was even willing to stay there after hours to do surgery on my dog. I was not "sent away" or referred to another hospital because it was near closing time. My dog stayed overnight and the next day when I picked him up he looked like a sewn up puppet - but he is ALIVE and I appreciate every one who works at this place who helped.
