My childhood friend died after struggling for 16 hours to breath, alone in a cold strange room away from home and family. He drowned due to "over aggressive treatment" for kidney problems. Rick, went into the clinic happy as can be, was put on a 4 day IV fluid infusion at 20ML/hr for a 9lb (4.5kg) cat. That is 480ml/day for a total of almost 2000mlL/2L or 4lbs of fluid in 4 days for a 9 lb cat. First 2 days my cat was ok and the 3rd day he started having substantial fluid in his lungs. In the end, my cat fought for 16 hours and drowned in the fluid that was pumped into him. My cat died both eyes open and struggling. This face was drenched in water. Water coming out of his nose and mouth. All the literature i have found including publications online by well know vets have recommended 1-2ml/hr / KG (my cat was 4.5KG) with CLOSE monitoring and NOT the 4mL/hr /kg (20ML/hr ) my cat was given. 4ML is 2x the upper limit. Every literature stated the side-effect of over-hydration is fluid collection in the lungs and eventual heart failure. Through out my conversation with the doctor, he stated he could not have foreseen these issues and circumstances stated that this was his regular treatment for kidney problem cats. He also stated my cat had a "weak" heart and that was unforeseen. At the rate of 500mls a day which my cat was receiving, it would be the equivalent of giving 3.6 gallons of water IV to a 150lb person which would result in HEART FAILURE in a health human. Even drinking 3.6 gallons of water a day would cause death let alone blasting it straight into the bloodstream. My cat has lived a long healthy life and did not deserve to drown slowly for 16 hours away from home and family. If he was weak, had heart issues or on the verge of death and in ill health, he would not have struggled for 16 hours. The doctor had a "this is how i do it approach. While i was back there visiting my dying cat, a brown wiener dog was crying for the 1 hour i was there in pain after a surgery. The staff was joking and laughing in the back room chatting it up while this dog cried and cried. Never was he touched or attended to. It is a sad sad place to bring your pet. Everyone reading this, try making your cat drink 500ML of fluid a day or you yourself drink 3.6 GALLONS of water a day.... now think of all that water directly into your blood stream. NO ONE could have survived. I am heart broken. My friend of 15 years FOUGHT and suffered for 16 hours before dying without me by his side. I have lost my chance to put my friend to sleep as I have always planned. He died slow, painful, alone, gasping for air in a dark cold strange room. I am left with the image of my cat Rick... pressing his face up against the plexi glass window of his cage waiting for that human touch. He knew he was going to die... i wish i did too. For the doctors there, your pet is $600 live or die. For you, they are your life, family, childhood friend.

We were given The Pets Place info by Ruff House when we asked if they knew of a good local vet and we were impressed. Our dog had a torn nail that was causing her pain, and they got us in quickly, were reasonably priced, and best of all, they were FANTASTIC with our dog! Very attentive staff who made her feel loved despite having her painful nail trimmed back and her foot wrapped. The vet was thorough, listening to all questions and concerns and never made me feel rushed despite fitting us into the schedule just before lunch, and did a great job wrapping her foot up. They also went the extra mile and called to personally check on how she was doing the next day, which a lot of vets just dont do anymore. Classy. She typically chews any wraps or bandages off, so he used a sour apple wrap on her to help deter her from that, and it definitely helped. We will be back, and highly recommend it! Other services offered include simple bathing and fancier "spa" services, boarding, training, vaccinations, etc. They also sell sweatshirts to help support abandoned animals.

I adopted my 10 month old pup from a shelter and about 3 days later had to take him to the emergency vet over the weekend. He kept coughing non stop. The emergency vet gave us antibiotics and cough suppressants to take home and told us it was most likely kennel cough. Needless to say the coughing only worsened and so did Brinkleys desire to eat or drink. He started having diarrhea so I took him to the Pets Place and saw Dr. Bashoven. Everyone there was fantastic! He told me that it was possible Brinkley had Distemper and if by any chance it attacks the nervous system then there is a low chance of recovery. My heart was broken because Distemper has no cure. They told me they would keep him for a minimum of 3 nights to give him IV antibiotics for the Pneumonia he also had and hope his immune system could fight off the virus on his own. 3 days later I took home a happy and healthy puppy! They saved his life and I am eternally grateful!

Excellent! I can not say enough about my experience at the Pet Place! I sent an appointment request late last night about 9pm because I was so worried there might be a foxtail in my dogs leg. - I didnt think I would hear back until the next morning, but I was surprised and thrilled to receive an email at 10pm that evening telling me to bring my baby in the morning. We were in and out in about an hour with a foxtail removed from my poor babys paw. (Something that was completely missed by another Vet in the area) The staff really seems to like animals and it shows in the way they handled my little guy. The price was very fair too. All in all a great experience. Nobody wants to HAVE to go to the vet... but when the time comes I HIGHLY suggest The pets place.

Plain and simple, the people who work here care about you and your furry friends. I recently had to put down my rat and I am very glad I came here to do so. The doctor I was lucky enough to get held my rat buddy with such kindness knowing she was sick and when the time came to let her go, I could see the genuine sympathy in the doctors eyes. if you want a clinic you can count on to care for your pets as much you do, please give these warm-hearted people your business. P.S. dear Pets place, thank you for the sympathy card you sent me after Anzais passing. Incredibly sweet and unexpected.

We absolutely love The Pets Place! Dr. B is our vet and our dogs love him and his staff. We had 2 of our dogs go to doggy heaven in the past couple of years and I cannot begin to tell you how gentle and concerned they were, not only about our dogs, but about us. When we travel we always have boarded our Nicky and Stella and will continue to do so. Stella is quite bashful and this past weekend I dropped them off and when they saw Teresa both Stella and Nicky went crazy...they were so happy to see her...now that is love! Thank you The Pets Place! The Mattson Household, Melinda and Dennis
