I will never take another animal here. After my dog received a infection from being spayed. When the woman took my dog back they drug her back by her leash she was coughing and chocking. I should of taken her and left. My mother went in and paid for the spay after paid the woman asked what kind of dog. She told her it was a pitbull. She said oh she could of qualified for a special program. She said to ask to be remeburised at the time of surgery. After picking my dog up, I asked I was told their financial advisor was not in but I would be remburised. Two weeks later I hear nothing I called and spoke to Arleen. She told me she would not reimburse me but 30 dollars not the full hundreds and change the gift certificate to 65. I explained I would not take another animal there. And I wanted to talk to someone higher. She told me to hold and she would transfer me to the director. She then came back and said she must of been at lunch but would call me back. Never received a call so I went down their in person. The director came out and said she would not remeburise me. I explained it was not my fault it was theres she understood and said it just a unfortunate event. But we wont reimburse you but 30 dollars. I told them I will be contacting the better business Bureau and the news. Im disgusted with their customer service and their service to animals. After reading reviews on them. They are suppose to help people on low income with animals. Well I just so happenend to of lost my job, and the money they SHOULD remburise me can go toward food and other things for her. Im in complete disgust. I do not recommend any animal going there. They had a line of 15 ppl to check in a 8 am. And then 2 pm is the pick up. They are not personal and caring. They are their for one thing one thing only is to make a profit. My other dog her surgery did not take 6 hours. And her healing was fast. Im very sad this is how they care for animals.

NEVER TAKE YOUR PRECIOUS PETS TO THESE BUTCHERS. THEY MAIM ANIMALS and possibly murder. My dog would have died as a result of their inexperienced vets had I listened to their horrible advice. My dog was neutered there Thursday 11/06/2014 and the swelling had not went down a week later it was getting worse. I called them and took him in for a recheck. They gave me an antibiotic (14 day) and what they said was an anti-inflammatory (but I later was told by a real vet that it was a pain pill) and told me to bring him back five days later for a recheck. I luckily took my dog to a real vet because I did not think just these pills for 14 days would help. Turns out he needed surgery immediately, the real vet said in his 40 years of being a vet he had never seen anything like it and whoever performed the surgery did not know what they were doing. He removed three cups of puss from my dog and says he will need to keep him and keep a drain in for at least four more days, he will need powerful antibiotic, etc. to get him through this and he thinks he will make it because he has absolutely no other health problems. No way would the medications Northwest Spay and Neuter gave him have helped and had I left him untreated any longer (as they told me to) he would have died. Also, the real vet’s fees came to nearly one thousand dollars to fix what they had botched. They are supposedly doing low cost spay and neuter to help animals and people without funds. However, as you can see they have cost me a lot and almost cost my dog his life. NEVER TAKE YOUR PRECIOUS PETS TO THESE BUTCHERS.

Came here to have my cat spayed. Parking is a bit of a mess when you come to drop off your furry friend, but thats because this non-profit handles a LOT of animals. Theyre a low-cost provider, and I was able to get my kitty spayed and her basic shots for less than $100. Intake was crowded but ran very smoothly. I got the required paperwork filled out and dropped off my kitty, and nervously left (first time leaving the kitty at the vet). I got a call about an hour and a half later saying that my cat was being too aggressive toward the staff for them to give her a full medical exam (she must have been SUPER stressed as normally shes a total sweety), and asking for my permission to give her her sedation without the full exam as long as I was pretty sure she didnt have any underlying health issues. This is evidently standard procedure, and it was nice that they called to at least let me know. Picking up my cat was a bit smoother as far as parking went since pickup happens before drop off for the next batch so finding parking was easy. The staff explains to each pet parent how their pets procedure went, after care instructions reminder (we all got an instruction sheet when we dropped off our pets), and instructions on when we should call back if anything comes up. My cat received a 72 hour pain medication and seemed a little out of it but VERY cuddly when she came home. Fast forward nearly a week and her healing looks great, not a single complication, and I am very happy to leave a great review for this organization!

Im not impressed. You truly get what you pay for. I brought my two female cats here last week to get spayed and they both developed infections. They only use surgical glue on the top layer of skin which does not seal long enough to keep the wound closed for healing. If I would have known this I would have NEVER taken my pets here. One of my cats is currently undergoing surgery to fix the under layer of muscle which was poorly sutured shut and to remove the infection cause by the wound being open. Both are on antibiotics. No one here seemed to be in a pleasant mood or even explain the process. It smelled so strongly of ammonia and cat urine even in the waiting lobby and whenever the door opened for the vet to bring the animals back the smell was even stronger. Im concerned about the sanitation and integrity of the individuals who work here and I was even shocked to see them not advising or even asking half of the clients picking up their animals to bring home an e collar to prevent licking of the wounds. I spend $180 at time of service and now have to spend an extra $250 to fix their mistakes when if I would have known better would have just taken my poor babies to a local vet. I also had to drive about 45 minutes and it definitely was not worth any bit of my time or money. i understand this institution receives a high volume of patients and aims to effective turn through them but it shouldnt be at the cost of the quality of car when performing services. I am truly unimpressed.

worst neutering ever in my life of owning dogs. Glue meant to keep suture covered, was already undone partially at pick up. Suture that was exposed was poorly done, along with the haphazard dash of a tattoo. Please look on yelp for pictures. When I voiced concerns that after care would be difficult due to my dog being a year old and very active, the response was Elizabethan collar, crate, or leash. No sedatives were permitted or offered, which for most cases may be recommended but I believe necessary when situation permits. Ive kept his Elizabethan collar on as instructed and activity to a minimum but this has not prevented his poor suture from being inflamed and has given him skin lesions for having the collar on for such a period of time. Even if I were to crate him, he would still need the collar as he would have access to his wound. Im very disappointed and ashamed I thought bringing him here was a smart decision. Please do the work and find a vet who would be willing to work with your financial concerns. This place is not worth the discount.
