I received the awful news today that my cat has something blocking her colon and may need to be put down. I had gone to an excellent vet with great reviews, who offered to give me the info for this emergency animal care to get a second opinion by having them just glance at her xray also. He said they are trusted with excellent doctors and for me to call them right away, and he would fax over the xray of my cat to them. He also advised that because I was literally just leaving their vet clinic and heading over, that this ER would probably give me a reduced "Re-Exam fee" because she had already had an exam, xray, enema, meds, etc, done that cost $300 and they would send all this info to them. He also handed me her records. I first called and a rude, young woman answered and before I could even finish my sentence, she cut me off and talked over me. ALL she would say over and over is "Your doctor needs to call us and actually refer you over, then we can set you up with radiology and discuss what needs to be done." I was only calling to first get a quote how much an ultrasound is, and what theyre surgeries can run around before setting something up. Unfortunately, I do not have a lot of funds to spare as this was unexpected. I know they can not tell me exactly, but I could get an educated estimate what they run around or at least the price of an ultrasound. They do not do payment plans at all either. I tried to also ask about CareCredit as it was recommended to me by the first vet, and as I was asking, she put me on hold without saying anything, then came back on and repeated her exact sentence again about having my doctor call them. I finally snapped at her and said "You cant even tell me if you accept CareCredit?!" She said "Uhh, yes we do." I said thank you and hung up. I called my original vet and told them what happened and even the woman who answered said "Youre kidding me?! Who did you talk to, do you remember her name?" Unfortunately I did not. So they swore again if I could get past the lady at the front desk, that the doctors are excellent. The ADVISED me to drive over to the ER and hand them my records and see if they could quote me anything. When I arrived, there were three women at the front. I spoke to a blonde woman and she said pretty much the same thing. I told her they were highly recommended and I just came out of the vets office, and he swore up and down that I could get a quote and they could do a quick 30 second look at my xray and give a second opinion about IF she needed surgery or should just be put down. She would not answer anything and said I would have to pay $95 for another full exam, no discount, and they could not even glance at my xray without paying them "for their time". What about the time I have taken to care for and nurture this animal for the last 9 years? What about the time and money I just spent at the vet I just came from 15 minutes ago that stated he works with you? What about the fact that my cat may or may not be dying and I want to make sure she is not being put down for the wrong reasons?? It is abundantly clear to me this "emergency animal care clinic" only CARES about money and not the care of the animals. I called and left another message with my vet and said I will not be using these people and if he could email my xray to a radiologist as the emergency clinic recommended. In other words, sending my problems and business away. This is hard enough as it is without having thoughtless, rude, condescending, greedy, one of them incapable of having an intelligent conversation, no customer service having, front desk "ladies" turning their back on an animal in need of a quick glance at her xray without dropping quite a bit more money. They never even consulted someone to see. It would take a minute of the doctors "time" to look. Not like they do not make enough money off of other people and animals pain already. And yes, I kept my cool with them and was never rude until this review.

Outstanding. Hands down the best experience Ive had with a vet/hospital, my wife and Is Brindal pitbull Cutie had unexpectedly given birth at 2:08 am to one miracle baby boy, she then stopped all signs of labor and had no signs of any more babies, well this can happen as it is called singleton, but this was not the case. After 12 hours cutie had not moved so we made the call to our normal vet who is also outstanding (spanaway veterinary clinic) they proceeded to schedule us for 2:30 pm on 9-4 ( the same day as the baby was born just 12-13 hours after) which was awesome, unfortunately we got a call back that we had been double booked but they didnt hesitate to give us two names. One was summit and one was blue something or another, we made a call to blue and one other first for no specific reason but had to check prices and details as we are low income and cant afford a whole ton. We were told no one would offer any financial help for this and this surgery would require a c section in which cost thousands of dollars on our babygirl. Well this as loving parents makes you instantly feel hopeless but pissed off. So We fought harder on the search and soon as we made the call to summit they instantly told us to bring her in and no matter what we would figure it out. Needless to say it was a expensive surgery but check this out.... We got quoted 4253$ and paid that down, it only came out to 4,053 and some odd cents! Make sure if you are struggling financially you explain your situation but express your love for you baby as well! Everything about this experience has been great we are still calling them for advice currently almost everyday in which they dont care they simply answer questions and help they are absolutely great. Never once did they allow for us to lose hope. Cutie ended up having 2 still borns in her belly higher up they tried enduring natural labor but after a hour and a half it didnt have a effect and they proceeded to surgery. My God is their surgeon amazing! Cutie doesnt even act as tho she had surgery and every multiple hours when I look at her laceration on her belly its seriously cleaner then I have seen on many many humans! I would trust this surgeon on myself yet alone my dog hahah... Kidding but its seriously an amazing job I hope they see this because their team on 9-4-16 made our family complete and while again and we couldnt of asked for anything better then what we received thanks again 9-4 crew

I am really impressed with SVRC. I had to take my dog there in an emergency and they treated me with utmost respect and care. They where so kind and patient to my baby. My dog is now scheduled for surgery and I have utmost confidence in Dr Murrey and her staff. They have explained the whole process, Dr Murrey answered every question I had in a kind and patient manner. She even made sure she understood exactly what I was asking, instead of going off in a different direction. They kept me posted the entire visit. Letting me know what they where doing, and why, then returned to tell me the outcome. I have no worries about leaving my baby there over night. The place is huge, clean warm and inviting. The waiting room is set up to allow privacy for communication, or just "leave me alone" moments. From the first step inside I felt like this was even better than a human hospital! Im really glad I have Summit Vet now in my bag, on my side, to go to whenever there is a need. The only downside and I hate to even say, but one person on the staff was not to enjoyable to deal with. I never say a bad thing about any one person. But this Janet in the front desk just stood out and so opposite of the feel and the rest of the kind staff at SVRC. As a person who has run a medical staff , front and back, Ive always said that no matter how good the doctor is if there is one negative thing from a member of the staff no matter what their position is, it can make or break a doctor. That is what will stand out. Maybe she had a bad day, I dont know, but she was unpleasant, cold to the point of being rude. She talked down to me, and when she gave me the total amount of the bill and I asked her a question whether I was being charged for a particular thing, she said she didnt know and repeated the amount and asked for my card. Right, like Im just going to hand over my card like that. Oh well. Otherwise what a wonderful place if you have the unfortunate need for vet services, they have everything! MRI machines Ct scans heart machine you name it I think theyve got it!!!! If I can figure out how to upload pictures I will. I hope you never have the need, but if you Do, please give them a try, itll be a good peace of mind
