Secret Shopper
"Buyer Beware and be prepared for Sticker Shock" - took my dogs there for vaccines and a well check. Sat in the waiting area for 20 minutes before being taken into an exam room. Waited an additional 20 minutes before being seen. The Vet seemed "frazzled" and in a hurry. She did not refer to my dogs by their names nor did she know my name. They failed from the front desk to vet techs to veterinarian in providing any semblance of personalized care. After an additional 20 minutes, the vet tech brought some medications but did not provide adequate "discharge instructions" and was not able to answer my questions. Upon check out I received a bill for over $350.00. They performed tests I did not ask for and without notifying me. They charged $59.99 for each dog to simply be seen and then charged additional fees for each vaccine (3 each) and the unnecessary "preventative" tests (feel free to do the math) When I protested about the tests that were done without my knowledge and permission, they refused to remove the fees from my bill. When I stated I wouldnt pay for the tests they threatened to send me to collections. Additionally, do not be bamboozled into purchasing the "Paw Pals Plan" - they charge a $49.99 non-refundable sign up fee and dependent upon the "wellness plan" it can run you between $450.00 to $750.00 (per dog). This "discount plan" does not cover meds and tests. They will highlight a couple of services but chances are you wont need or use them. They care more about $$ then they do about the families and pets. They are the pet equivalent of a "Doc in the Box" If you love your pets you shouldnt even consider taking your animals there. This place is shameful.

If I could rate with a negative 5 I would, but this system forces me to actually credit these jerks with a star!!!!!!!!! Absolutely appalling!!!!!!!!! These greedy people told us there would be no charge to check our dog after he was viciously attacked by pit bulls. So we took him in. They wanted to do EXPLORITORY SURGERY with an open end on the bottom line figure…..excuse me my dog has been through ENOUGH torment!!!!!!!! Just sew him up! They appeared to want to punish the owners of the Pitbulls through us. Even though we explained that we don’t want to make a hardship for the owners of these dogs…and so on and so forth. The Pitbulls are dead now…so it’s a moot point!!!! Anyway, after the issue with Chamber’s Creek, we took our dog to another vet for a second opinion. He didn’t need EXPORITORY SURGERY! This was simply a fancy name to give us the SHAFT….don’t bend over in this clinic…they’ll get you coming and going!!!!!!!!! They’ve been billing us for an office visit that was not authorized after being told there would be no charge…now they’re actually sending that illegitimate bill to collection. Let me tell you something…there is NO authorization on this bill and there are witnesses who heard that there would be no charge for the consult. They keep it up and I’ll see their backsides in court!!!!!!!!!! There are laws that govern this issue!!!!!!!! Be warned…this clinic will OVER VET to raise prices!!!!!! We received care for our attacked puppydog at 1/3 the cost and top notch service!!!!!!!!!!! Will NEVER go to this vet EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We used this vet just once. A vet at another clinic made a serious error in giving our cat medication which caused him to go into respiratory failure. We brought our cat to this clinic to be euthanized when there was no hope for recovery and he was in great pain. The vet was extremely compassionate, acknowledged our grief, gave us time to say our goodbyes and explained the procedure. For such a difficult time, we could not have asked for a better vet. We had two problems with this location. The first was that there were a number of children running around in the offices behind our exam room. They were making a lot of noise, and our cat, already in distress, was visibly upset by this. We did not know if this was a field trip in progress, or whether the children of employees had come after school to wait for parents; but it seemed very unprofessional. Secondly, there was a young girl who appeared to be no more than 11 or 12 years old who was allowed to come in with the vet techs when they prepped our cat. While we struggled with our grief, it seemed we had an audience of Looky Lous. One vet tech would have been fine. We could understand having one more in training. The third one just should not have been there. Whether it was Bring your Child to Work Day or whatever, we did not need a youngster in there to watch us cry. I know I should have addressed this issue at the time, but I could not deal with anything more right then.

Until today, I had been using this facility for over 10 years with various pets and have almost decided to go elsewhere because when I first called, I was told it was going to cost me $378 to take my 3 dogs in for "what was due." The reminder card stated only: Well Pet Exam and Lepto Vaccination. I called another vet and got a quote for $145.50 to treat all 3 dogs. After reviewing my bill from last years visit to Chambers which was $340 and change, I noticed it included fecal exams for all 3 dogs. Sure enough, when I called them back, even though my notice was about the Lepto and exams only, the quote on the phone included both a fecal exam and a bordetella vaccine, but the person I spoke with twice on the phone earlier did not clarify that. I called just back and asked. So in all fairness, the cost of the Lepto/Well-Pet exam is only $228.30. Still, that is over $80 difference between the 2 hospitals for the same service. There is no doubt that Chambers has top notch vets. But you also must be prepared to pay top dollar for their services and if you cant, they give you no payment options other than to take your business elsewhere. Being a long time client doesnt make any difference to them. So right now, for what it is worth, the jury is out. I am pondering if the $80 difference between the 2 facilities is worth it.

I have taken our cats & dogs to this vet clinic/hospital for years now. I have seen them increase their prices and increase the list of what should be done with your pet for his/her care. When you question the written estimate they give you, or tell them you cannot pay the $1,000, they will take the paper in the back again and again coming out with what you can pay. Or...they will tell you to fill out the paperwork for Care Credit so they can do more work ups. You have to be assertive and say you cannot pay that amount for blood work, for example, and believe me, they will then tell you 1/2 of it isnt really necessary. The Drs are very good and I wonder if its the vet owners idea to do this kind of money thing, and not all the other vets ideas. A few of the female techs are rude and curt, but the rest are nice and friendly. I feel my pets are in competent hands, but the constant money issue is very hard to accept. I have now taken my pets to Vets For Less in Federal Way for the same care only its 1/3 the cost (neutering, shots, basics). Bottom line...they will start at the highest amount, most labs and work ups, then will go down to what is really necessary once you question it.
