I have been going to SAGE when necessary for the last four or so years. They took care of my last cat until the night I had to bring her in late to euthanize her and I will say they did a wonderful job, were very sensitive and handled all of the cremation. Now my elderly calico is coming in after a stroke last July in which they did not give up on her and she has almost 100% recovered. She also has severe crippling arthritis she has been dealing with for years now. The arthritis has advanced immensely over the last few years, and I have tried many homeopathics -some of which have helped tremendously like Vetionx which is covered by insurance if you get a written prescription. San Mateo Sage moved to Redwood City and they just brought in an alternative veterinarian, Dr. Miller. My cat has a neurologist there, an orthopedic, an internist, physical therapist and now an alternative doctor! Everyone has been wonderful through the last cat and with this one! The only complaint, if I have one, is that its almost impossible to get in with the physical therapist although they are now bringing in a second person so that should alleviate the problem. After trying traditional medicines and pain medicines with orthopedic I was referred to the new alternative vet. My cat became so lame I didnt think she had much longer before she couldnt get up or walk anymore. As soon as it looked like I had exhausted all avenues here arrives Dr. Miller, and I have to give 1 million shout outs to her because after one single solitary cold plasma treatment I can state that I have my cat back! For how long I dont know but I see an unbelievably positive change overnight! She is walking much more, purring like crazy & rubbing me over and over and over like she is thanking me for this new found relief. I am looking forward to see what the future treatments bring. Everyone there are specialists- they are all amazing to me- please dont hesitate to bring your pets there!

Post Treatment Reaction : cat is in a state of comma. Has been sleeping for 24hrs. When stimulated hardly open eyes. No bowel movement. I am preparing for her funeral. Im completely demoralized. This was not a feline but more like a daughter, a friend. Btw, all of the ER treatment, described below cost a total of $279.00! PS: Thanks doctor Ricki Martin Lookalike. I hope you have fun and enjoy your weekend bacchanalia with all the other Ricky Martins et al. Please have a Gay time :) I rushed my cat to this place because our Vet was not available. They were very friendly and quick to get the paperwork out of the way. It is located in creepy heart of Little Cornelio Reyna Neighborhood or El Guatemalos, which is a horrible place to be driving at night. The Nurse was very amiable and quite gentle when performing the screening examining. The Vet (not a Doctor) a vet is NOT a doctor, look it up! Who was extremely friendly and professional. Asked me the same questions I had been asked. So it seem all my pet was suffering from was a head cold." So they administered: 10mgs maropitant citrate (anti-nausea); 0.7mls Azithromycin susp and like a gallon of subcutaneous H2O injection. Of course we will try to see Pets vet. Who works out of a Pet store, widely know for their accidental murdering of animals by their keepers... It makes you wonder where is Vito Corleone when you need to give someone a brand new pair of legs? God be with us in this cruel world!

We were referred to Dr. Sharon Ullman at Sage when our six week old terrier mix broke his front leg. Dr. Ullman and trusted assistant Rhea treated us like family from the minute we first met. They carefully and comprehensively explained their findings, and presented us with a range of options to address his injury. Dr. Ullman was sensitive to the cost of these options, and she took the time to explain what outcomes we could expect under each choice. She worked out a payment plan that allowed our puppy to be treated immediately but allowed us to pay over the time period he was under Sages care. Our puppys broken leg healed perfectly, and his recovery included physical therapy with specially trained canine therapist Jen. Also, On one of his post-surgery checkups, Dr. Ullman accurately diagnosed our puppys lack of energy as a potentially fatal liver shunt. This finding, based primarily upon her years of experience with complex cases, allowed our puppy to receive LIFE-SAVING liver surgery. It has been just under one year since his last post-op appointment with Sage, and our puppy is thriving, living well as an active and awesome member of our family. Thanks a million to Dr. Ullman, Rhea and the rest of Sages wonderful team.

PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!! They charged us over 1500 for medical procedures they deemed as necessary and like any other parent to a pet, you want the best, so we went ahead with the procedure and the outcome was my little dog died within a hour. Even when I first called for an appointment, they suggested a costly hospital stay. I have never been at a loss for words when I trusted these idiots to save my chihuahua, Stars life, by acting concerned only until they were paid! They took my money before they even treated my dog and made us feel like they just wanted our money. Following the procedure, Dr. Silverman told me Star only had hours to live!! Why did they talk us into a procedure that hurt her and left my little child bandaged and push her to death?!?!! Once the money was in their hand, the whole story changed and I saw how careless and evil this place is. Every time I drive by this place it hurts me to see unknowing clients coming into that place with their pets. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!! They do not know what they are doing and have NO compassion for loving pet owners, other than taking your money first and uncaring treatment later. I miss my Star!! STAY THE F**K AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

In the middle of the night last night, my very old dog went into distress. It was very upsetting. I thought he might be having a seizure or heart attack. I recalled that Sage had moved into RWC and quickly grabbed my dog and drove over there . I had the wonderful opportunity to see Dr Zachary Wilcox, the attending vet. He was kind, calm and reassuring and very knowledgeable. He has a wonderful style. He downplayed the episode and was thought it might just be pain and nothing more serious.. He told me I could take my dog home that night. Its not clear what happened or if he did have a stroke and could have another, but Dr Wilcox was so positive and didnt assume the worst, nor want to do a million procedures. (I have had too many negative experiences with vets who want to run every single test imaginable and then the dog doesnt make it anyway). He was the opposite. Also, Amber, a staff professional, was so kind and helpful. If you find yourself in a similar situation (never ideal), I encourage you to check out Sage and if youre lucky, youll get Dr Wilcox and Amber to help you.
