We took our hedgehog in as it was apparent the little guy was really sick. They treated him with a lot of care and consideration, which was nice considering some vets tend to treat small animals like theyre semi-disposable. They successfully diagnosed pneumonia, and treated him as best as they could. The vet did not lie to us about his chances, but clearly took the effort to explain what was wrong with the hedgehog, what we could do to help him, and steps to take if he got worse. The treatment actually cost below the quoted price which was nice (and did include several tests which the results were shown and explained to us, and several kinds of treatment). Our hedgehog died anyway, he did not have very good odds at recovering in the first place. But the standard of care he received and the level of respect he received at Spanaway Veterinary Clinic at least left us knowing we did the best we could for the little guy.

These Vets are great, my dog Tye had priviously lived with my husbands exwife and she let the neighbors tease him through a window until he jumped through it. She left him that way for a month until she asked my husband for money for the dog. I told him we should seed the dog and he agreed. When we saw Tye there was no fleash on the bone for about three inches of his forearm! Me and dog cryed the whole way to the Spanaway Vets. Doctor Wright was awesome we walked write into a room even though it was very busy and the good Doctor was weighting for us right in the room (the greeting staff ran and told her about Tye). She took exrays, and sanatized his arm and foot, even warned us about us maybe even having to remove the foot. It took three months for his foot to heal, and I took him in twice a week for bandage chages (when wounds flush they dont smell very nice). All the staff are exceptional!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE ! I was quoted for $132 out the door price to neuter my dog (65 lbs). I talked to Amanda she looked at my shot record and everything was good. he weighed 73.2lbs at drop off so total out the door price was $179.68 with pain meds. I was told they would call me after surgery and let me know how he was. I just called at 1 pm because they didnt call me. My bill is $190. 78 out the door now ! I talked to them and asked how in the hell its so much. well he didnt have a Kennel Cough vaccine, then the cone collar is not included, and tax for the pain meds. THEY WILL NICKLE AND DIME YOU ! THIS ALL HAPPENED ON 1/15/2015. AND I AM MILITARY !

Took my lizard in to get check out was told best option is to put him down so I did and was told I can take him home and dig a hole for him or I can creamated him so I pick to get him creamated during this I was very upset cause my pet lizard was family I sign paper work for creamated saying I wont get him back for doing a group one. Very sad they would not tell a person that while there and just hand paper work to people who are crying and upset. They also charge 40.00 to get him creamated and u still dont get ur pet back. To me its a way for them to scam people out of money in a hard time when dealing with a lost of a pet. To me that is not cool at all.

Bad customer service! They look for any symptom to treat for to get more money from you. Today, I took my dog in for a grooming... I expected to pay $35... Wound up paying $165 because of a mandatory check up. On top of that, they treat the symptom not the problem... so your pet only gets temporary relief. oh, one last thing... They were in such a rush to get to the next customer that they forgot to give me the dog medication. Therefore, I had to drive back out there once I got home and realized what happened. Save yourself the grief don't take your pets here. I just wish I had realized this 2 yrs ago.

After taking my dogs and cats there since they were in the "Old" office, like 15 years ago, we had a terrible experiance. Our lab (who had been seen there since he was 8 wks old), became paralized, the vet who showed me the xrays was very unsympathetic, and when i asked her about xrays THEY had taken 5 years earlier, she said they had thown them away!! WHAT??!! I BOUGHT those xrays! why would they throw them away? They dont return phone calls when it is very urgent, left us alone with a dying, in pain dog we loved....we were helpless. It was terrrible, and our entire family has switched vets.

Fabulous vet clinic. Thier practice was recommended to me by a vet tech I highly respect. I have been there several times and am always pleased with how well my pets and I are treated. They truly seem to care about my animals and are always willing to work with me on solutions that best fit us. Veterinary care is expensive but I find their costs to be reasonable and often less than other full service vets. My only complaint is that I wish they were closer to my house so I didnt have to drive 30 minutes with anxious animals, but they are worth it.

This office has treated all of my dogs a total of 4 over the last 15 years. I have received nothing but the best care from everyone in the office. If you want them to do a groom which they are excellent at, I have the biggest baby ever, you will have to show your dog has had their shots and if a current patient they have to be current with their annual exam. I appreciate this because I would not want my fur babies to be kenneled next to a sick critter. Great Vet!

If I could rate this 0/5 I would. Came in to get my rabbits teeth checked out and came out with a paralyzed rabbit. He weighed 4lbs...how hard is it to restrain an animal that small? They claim to be very experienced with rabbits, but obviously not. After being charged nearly half a grand they had the nerve to tell me it would not cost much to put him down. He only lived for a few days...he was my first pet, I wish I never took him here.

I have taken my dogs here for years and I absolutely love this place and the staff is amazing, kind and caring. Yesterday at work I had a small bird fly into the window at my work, he was still alive and I had no idea how to help him so I took him to here and though they couldnt save him, they put him to rest free of charge!! Great people doing great things here and I would recommend this place to anyone!! Thank you Spanaway Vet!!

if you think your Pet may need to be euthanized do not bring them to this clinic. They will not allow you to be with them - Pets familiars are not allowed in procedure rooms. Within 10 seconds of removing my Cat from my arms to be Euthanized they asked if i could step out to the counter and pay for the bill. (i had been crying hysterically through out this entire process and was clearly not ok/ready to go pay my bill)
