I took my animals here for a couple of years, not knowing any better, they were constantly pushing "teeth cleaning" and their pet insurance and shots galore. I had a 12 yr old altered male pom and a 10 year old chi that had numerous health problems. After two years they never got a handle on my chi epilepsy. He was on medication but the seizures never stopped. I had to go in every two months for testing on this medication at a cost of about 400.00. We most of the time saw Dr. Goozeman (sp) and I think he is mostly caring but has to follow Banfield protocol, i.e pushing teeth cleaning, pet insurance, an overkill of shots and boosters. They rest of the "Drs" there suck. I had one of the women doctors accuse me of being a breeder. Hmm? one altered dog and one that wasnt but was old, had epilepsy, a thyroid condition (undiagnosed at that time) and a perianal tumor. The wait time was absolutely crazy! I have had so many bad experiences there, too many to list. I will just give you two. One day the did a needle biopsy on my chi, he was bleeding profusely and scared out of his mind when they brought him to me. I had blood dripping all over me and him standing there in the reception area. I asked for something to help mop up the blood all over me and him, they gave me something and me and my husband stood there and waited until we could get the blood to stop. I didnt want to leave there, I was afraid the dog was going to bleed out right there in the store. They were busy calling people on the phone for not paying their insurance premiums and making appointments for teeth cleaning and shots. No one cared. Luckily the bleeding stopped after a half an hour with both me and my husband taking turns putting pressure on the site. My poor dog!! I had made an appointment for a surgery for my chi, they wanted pre surgery blood work done a week in advance. I was running out of one of his meds about eight days before the surgery, called and asked if they would give me a couple days worth of meds since I needed to do blood work for the meds and the surgery and thought I could combine the two. They told me NO, I had to go in and have blood work done so I could renew the prescription at a cost of 400.00 and then have it done again two days later for the surgery, otherwise they would not give me this prescription that if I was to take my dog off it would kill him. I told her that they had me by the balls and hung up and called RIDGETOP animal hospital. They got me in that afternoon. They did the blood work for the meds along with some other blood work at the price of around 150.00. She told me that the surgery was unnecessary and "IF" my dog would have made it through the surgery, which she seriously doubted, it would have let him completely incontinent. She also discovered he had a thyroid condition, amazing since Banfield was constantly checking all of this??? and after adjusting his meds and adding another one, his seizures stopped after three years of screwing around with Bandfield. We took our Pom to Summit in Tacoma to see a neurologist this past May. What a wonderful place if you really need a specialist. Anyway I got into a conversation with one of the Drs. there about Banfield and what they put me and my animals through and he said they are one the worst pet vets you can go. They shoot up all the animals with as many shots and boosters as they can. Its a huge money maker for them along with all the other shoddy practices they use. Im sad that I wasted so much time and money in that place. Im sad that my pets had terrible care there. They dont give a damn about your pet, its all about money for them. That may even be okay if they were good vets and honest but there really is not one good thing I have seen come out there, lots of clean teeth though! I feel like my animals were abused and so was I..................NO Thanks!

Banfield is horrible! Every time I go there, the front desk receptionist is always rude and short with her customers. One time I went home with my dog after an appointment, and they called me to tell me they gave me the wrong medicine for my dog so I had to drive back and pick up the new one. They also charged me for medicine that was not even prescribed to my dog and the front desk receptionist/nurse was extremely rude and told me her position doesnt require her to give refunds. They keep doing tests on my dogs and keep telling me that they cant find the root of her skin problem. More visits plus more money. They also called me to tell me they charged me extra for my sisters dog last year. So they wanted to give me my refund. But I checked my account and they only took the money for my dog. I was not going to take that money and have them tell me I owe them later. Because the plan was withdrawn for my dog only. I decided to call them anyways and they told me they had no idea what I was talking about! So I asked them, "Why did you call to tell me that you owe me money then?" And they said, "There must have been some mistake!" DO NOT go to BANFIELD in SILVERDALE:poor customer service, money takers, and overpriced for nothing.

My dog was sick- for a working bred German shepherd that was ball obsessed to not eat drink or play with his ball and just sleep for two days it was bad. I got him in as a walk in and the doctor was able to diagnose him from the environment information I was able to give. It was a good price for the services offered, the staff was all friendly and took my concerns seriously, and the upfront personnel were understanding. Dr. Crawford was great and explained everything for my husband (whom has not had veterinary training like me) to do when I wasnt home on my one night shift and it was an overall great experience. Even my dog liked it and thats saying something since he was feeing crummy! Thank you banefield!

I purchased pet coverage for 2 dogs as one is a senior. they were not very helpful in regard to offering an appt when one needed to be seen. Far to busy. Also the vet was not available to talk or go over what I wanted. I felt they tried to get me to do more than I perceived my pets needed. So for those reasons I do not recommend this particular banfield hospital. I have gone to others where I didnt have this experience. Beware unless they change their processes they just want your money instead of paying for services because they care for the pet.

I was very satisfied with our experience last night at the Banfield Silverdale clinic. The staff was very courteous, straight forward and very gentile and loving to my pet. They were able to see us without too long of a wait in an emergency. The doctor and the nurse were both very informative and seemed quite knowledgeable while explaining everything to me in terms I could understand. The fees seemed very reasonable (for vet bills!) and were explained to us before said services were preformed. I recommend Banfield and plan to go back there myself.
