Terrible. Ive only been here once and I will never be back, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone I know. The receptionist was the only person I encountered that was decently respectful. My pitbull is deaf and was given to me from a family friend when he was about 6 months old and I had only had him for about 2 weeks before I took him into this clinic. The main reason I took him here was to get him a rabies shot and discuss a possible neutering. Considering the fact that I just got my dog and barely knew anything about him, I wasnt adequately informed about exactly when and what age he was when he received his past vaccinations, all I was told was that he had all his vaccines besides rabies and since it was family friend telling me this, obviously I was going to trust them. The first thing I explained to the vet was that my dog was deaf, young and relatively new to me, but throughout the entire conversation I had with the doctor, he had basically been degrading me and my knowledge about my dog and his past medical history talking about how bad it was that I didnt know exactly when my dog got his past vaccinations. Since my dog is deaf and just a puppy he is very hyperactive and sensitive and easily startled to anyone touching him. And when the vet tried to examine him, he didnt even introduce himself to the dog and just started grabbing and pulling at him. Instinctively, my dogs first reaction was to pull away and become defensive. As if the way he handled my dog wasnt bad enough, it was then that the vet said how disobedient my dog was and that he needed training... I had just explained the entire situation I was in with my dog so I was completely shocked to hear this come out of the mouth of someone who claimed to be a professional. Everything that came out of this doctors mouth was incredibly rude and insulting. This place was not worth my time or money and I honestly just feel bad for my dog more than anything that I put him through this. Please, for the love of your animals, stay away from this place.

We had a terrible experience at Wildwood. We brought our 2 dogs in for the initial exam, one of whom is fearful of new situations. The technician was excellent. She sensed that our dog was afraid and worked with her to make her feel comfortable. When the vet came in he did not take the time to meet the dogs. With every previous vet and dog trainer that we have seen, it has been easy for the professionals to tell that she is fearful. This guy had no clue. He walked right up to her while she was backed into a corner and put the stethoscope on her chest. My dog was obviously terrified and overwhelmed. She nipped at the doctor which is something shes never done before. His anger with her was very clear. He stomped out of the room complaining loudly to his coworkers that he was nipped. When he came back with a muzzle, he asked if biting was an issue for her. When I calmly told him that this was the first time its happened and that she just needs people to be gentle with her, he said that if he is not a gentle enough vet for us then we should just leave. We left mid-appointment, unable to get the flea medication that my pets need. Its safe to say we do not recommend Wildwood.

Communication is critical beginning at the time the person answers the phone. This is the reason for 1 star, the fact that the staff doesnt understand that calling for an appointment doesnt mean NOT seeing the vet. You really need to trust who you take your furry family to since youre their advocate. This trust was lost when thus woman who is NOT A VET started diagnosing my dog, and recommending treatment. Im sorry, but dont you have to go to school for 8 years for that? I will make the drive to SW Portland to continue seeing Dr. Davis as his staff would NEVER make suggestions on treatment, thats not their job!

Wildwood Animal Hospital has been great to me and especially my little miniature schnauzer. Im from out of town but have been in the Portland area for work. They took care of all his dental issues and has been so kind to accommodate any changes because we travel often. ALL of the employees have been so caring and kind. Even when its a quick phone call to let them know or ask anything, they always answer with a kind voice and its so genuine. Doctor was extremely kind and explained everything that would happen with Jasper and after his dental surgery also. Giving guys 10

Wildwood Animal Hospitals overstaffed and myopic diagnosis of treating for fleas was less the helpful, The steroid shot did absolutely nothing but add to the cost of service and perpetuate the lie of his ability to be a conscientious Vet that actually cares. The doctors remedial suggestion to use a pesticide on my whole" yard was naive. I would not recommend Wildwoods as a Veterinarian. As a way to waste of your money, they do this well. Tim

I have been taking my furry buddies to Wildwood Animal Hospital for 10+ years. I have always gotten excellent care. Pat, Meghan and the entire staff couldnt be more compassionate and caring. I highly recommend them all the time. Dr Hougham is an exceptional vet and feel blessed to have found them. I moved 30 minutes away over 7 years ago and wouldnt think of going anywhere else, even if it is inconvenient. LOVE THEM!!

Dr. Paul has been seeing my dog for 9+ years, hes always been extremely concerned for her health and will followup with a personal call when shes ill. She recently went through a bout of pancritis over the holidays, and it was pretty touch and go for a while but shes on the mend and doing much better. He also offers laser services which is really helping her back and hip displaysia.

The veterinarian and staff absolutely love caring for animals. You can tell by the way they interact with the resident clinic animals as well as the patients. They are always friendly and cheerful. Dr. Paul is very knowledgable. He has taken extremely good care of our three indoor only cats who get themselves in all kinds of situations.

After bringing Pixie home from the pet rescue, we realized she had some pretty serious dental issues. This spring, I took my chihuahua to Dr. Paul to have her teeth cleaned. They did a great job!! I couldnt believe the difference in Pixie after taking care of her dental issues! She is one HAPPY dog! Thanks, Dr. Paul!!

Wildwood Animal Hospital is our new pet Doc. With his 35+ years of experience you cant beat that. We were looking for diagnosis and reasonable estimate of our dogs problem. Couldnt be more pleased and comforted by his expetis, and staff. If your not sure, and you want a second opinion, I recommend Wildwood.
