We have been at Smile Island for a few years now and we have been very happy! My kids LOVE going to the dentist. My son gets so excited and is jumping out of the car when we get there. For about a month after his last sppointment, he wanted us to clean his teeth "dentist style", meaning he wanted to lay down for us to brush his teeth! LOL This year my daughter moves to the teen program and she is so excited about it! The staff has always treated her so well It is so wonderful to have my kids so excited about going to the dentist. My husband and I got here too and it has been great. They are never pushy about services or anything and always explain what they are going to do before they do it. The only thing I have ever disagreed with them on is breatfeeding. Unfortunaley, like most dentists, they do not follow the AAP and/or the WHO guidleines on breatfeeding. I found the dentists here to be uneducated on the simple mechanics of how breasfeeding works. (Milk flow, suck reflex, let down, nipple position, etc.)Breatmilk does not "wash" over teeth or "pool" in the mouth the way liquid from a bottle or sippy cup does. In addition, brestfeeding actually strengthens the musclues in the mouth. If you are breatfeeding, please do your own research and make your own educated decision for your family through the information from the dentist and your own research. This topic aside, they are still great with babies and toddlers. :)

SMILE ISLAND = DISNEYLAND OF DENTAL OFFICES!!! I have medi-cal for my daughter (free dental) but I am a believer that you dont get quality for free and I wanted my daughter to have a good experience and quality care. I actually came across Smile Island during an interview to work for their company as a DA. They loved me and I loved them but was missing one certification to qualify for the position in which I was not interested in getting at the time. When it came time for my daughter to have her first dental visit, I remembered how breath taking and fun this place looked and how nice everyone was to me when I interviewed so I decided to take her there. We do not have insurance (but could get everything free from medi-cal) and ended up paying out of pocket because they were indeed the best around! The atmosphere is a blast for kids and the staff is as friendly as the staff at Disneyland! My daughter needed a lot of work done (2 grand worth) and it was a breeze. They know what they are doing and they are good at it. They know how to make it fun yet comfortable for the kiddos and the parents. I will continue to keep taking my kids there and am happy to tell friends about it. They truly care about their patients. I did feel like it was a bit expensive compared to other places but I was so happy with the results and our time spent there, it didnt matter.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this dental office! The entire staff is incredible with kids, showing enthusiasm and patience throughout your visit. My four year old used to be terrified of the dentist, and now she asks to go see her dentist friends! During our first visit to this office we learned that she had some undiscovered cavities which required major dental work, including two extractions and a baby root canal. I was so nervous that my daughter would be forever traumatized, but all three times she came out smiling! They truly are miracle workers. You will feel completely at ease the moment you walk in. From the friendly receptionists to the gentle hygenists and experienced doctors, this office will give you absolute peace of mind. A beach-themed environment offers surf board exam tables, a fun play section, video games for the youth, and televisions in the ceiling to captivate and entertain each patient. This office has been fabulous in working with our entire family, including my husband and myself, and I have been continually impressed with their professionalism and unique gift in working with children. If you need a dentist for your child, teen, or just yourself, look no further. I guarantee Smile Island will meet all your dental needs!

I LOVE Smile Island. I just moved to the area. I took my 18-month old daughter for her first appointment. They showed me how to brush her teeth, gave her gifts and helped her get used to the experience of someone messing around in her mouth. :) I didnt like that all of the kids are worked on in the same room. She kept looking over at the boy next to her that was screaming and it scared her. On the flip side, they had some toys there to distract her with and I was able to sit up on the surfboard table with her to soothe her. Also, I like that they treat both children and adults and the areas are separate. A week later, I had a chipped tooth. They got me right in at their sister office even as a new patient. Following that, I oddly received two more chipped teeth that month (I need to lay off chewing on ice). They were able to get me in on the same day I had scheduled a routine exam for the year. I also received my first crown there. I have TMJ and they took frequent breaks and allowed me a guard to hold my mouth open for me. I watched the TV on the ceiling and just relaxed. The doctor and assistants talked me through each step of the process and answered all of my questions. Great experience.

We just had our second appointment today. Still impressed.... we have 4 children 5 and under and each one cant wait to see the dentist. They have such a positive experience and the staff are extremely kind to each child and really care to make it a unique experience for them. Today my son Griffin wanted to swtich "tables" (which are super comfy surf boards) because the other one is BLUE, and BLUE means boy. So, she sanatized the other surf board while he stood there inspecting and he was the happiest little camper ever. They also have X-box and other console games set up in the neatest arrangement... there are toys and fun things everywhere. Less like a dentists office and more like a kid sanctuary. LOVE THIS PLACE..... you will not be dissppointed.

My family and I have been patients at smile island for a little over year now and they have completely changed my outlook on going to the dentist. I love this place! The staff is absolutely amazing, everyone is so nice and welcoming, always making sure that you enjoy your visit, or addressing any need you may have. They have some of the latest and greatest technology incorporated into the office, which makes it easier for me and you! Bluetooth headsets with voice recognition, wireless x-rays you name it they have it! They will set you up on a treatment plan, addressing high priority needs first but are always committed to giving you youre smile back. I cant say enough about this place, my entire family is a member, you should be as well.

I had a wonderful experience at Smile Island. I actually brought my children in for their first exams. I was embarrassed as I hadnt been to the dentist myself for several years. While my children were being examined, I talked to their very friendly front office staff and they were able to ease my concerns and squeezed me in for an exam. I saw Dr. Winger who was great. The office is decorated beautifully, with a fun side for children, and a more spa like side for the adults. The entire staff is very friendly and fun. My children loved their appointments, they were able to watch a movie above them while being examined. When my son was waiting for his sister, they had toys and even individual video game stations to keep him entertained.
