I dont even know where to begin. The whole experience for my poor daughter who went to this horrid place to have her baby was a total nightmare. First of all the rent a cop at the front desk was clueless. Then the nurse at the front desk of L&D was rude and asked my daughter what she needed, really? My daughter was obviously there to have a baby. Then she told her to have a seat in the main lobby, where she waited for at least 30 minutes, where a ghetto family with about a dozen annoying screaming kids were also waiting. When she was finally in triage, one of the nurses proceeded to draw blood and hurt my daughter so badly, she thought she was going to faint. Then my daughter felt a gush of fluid and told the same incompetent nurse who said it was probably just pee and didnt bother to check. They were actually going to send her home but my daughter and son-in-law smelled the fluid themselves and confirmed it was not urine. Up to this point the whole staff was rude and seemed to have no compassion. Once she was taken to her room, the two nurses she had, I have to say were both very nice. Unfortunately, after their shift was over, a new moron came on. After my daughter received an epidural, this idiot inserted a catheter because she said she had to empty her bladder. My daughter screamed in agony but she had no sympathy or compassion. What happened to bed pans? Apparently, there were a total of 4 urinary catheters that my daughter had inserted with in a 24 hour period, that we were not aware of. I even heard a couple of nurses tell my daughter throughout her stay that she was most definitely going to get a UTI. The nurse was very inconsiderate, giggled and made stupid comments about not being able to find the doctor, who by the way, when he did come, was the only competent and professional individual in the room. Unfortunately, after 25 hours of labor and an unsuccessful attempt to deliver the baby with the vacuum, Dr. Guile decided there was no other choice but to deliver the baby via C-section, which by the way, he did a fabulous job. He explained everything throughout the procedure, which put us at ease. During my daughters stay in the maternity unit, there were maybe 3 or 4 nurses who were excellent at their jobs. They were very caring, helpful and accommodating to the needs of my daughter and my grandson. However, I can only recall the name of two, Rosalie and Susan. The others were obviously there just to earn a pay check. Another annoying thing was when the housekeeper came in. We thought she was just going to empty the trash cans or restock the paper but she started moping the floors and practically our feet. The four days that my daughter spent there seemed more like an eternity. Over all the experience at Sutter Medical, with the exception of a handful of staff members, was a very disappointing one. I would never want any of my loved ones to ever be hospitalized there. It may look really fancy and modern but obviously looks are deceiving. By the way, two weeks after my daughter was home, she developed a fever and chills. It turned out she did develop a UTI. This is a never event, and I should have known better since I work in infection control. Why was she not prescribed antibiotics at the time of discharge if she had been guaranteed to get a UTI? I can only thank God for giving my daughter the strength to get through it and that she and my new grandson are home and healthy.

They hauled me in last year in August...one woman told me fill this up with blood or I mean piss or something, I was just thinking to myself, wow she lost her job...some stupid blonde; I filled the bucket all the way up to the top. They wouldnt tend to my wounds, instead, they just injected me with something in my left thigh not telling me what....didnt even try to tell me what they were injecting. And then, sat there for a whole day not knowing what was up, wouldnt even say - they just kept a close eye - someone at this hospital, or several, stole something I came in with, out of a bag, an Mp3 player, my amulet I bought when I was far away, was a carved jet crow with quartz on the bottom, very rare, but as they say what is lost comes back to you somehow. I wonder what befell the ppl who stole it, being that it was the last trip me and my mother took when she lived when I bought it; they stole my ray ban sunglasses too, bout 100 or so dollars right there, a cell phone whos number I had to shut down cuz of these bastages in this hospital. I would call them when I couldnt get around so easily, to get my stuff back, was having some pain after this, they kept beatin around the bush and wouldnt call me bout anything. I had to call many multitudes of times to this place. Eventually the one guy Steven told me hed give me some cash from the lost and found dept, just because he "felt sorry" for me..hah...considering he shoulda been more upfront to begin with, and paid up anyways, and for more than he "dealed" and "bargained" for, knowing all my possessions there were stolen anyways, they kept switching lines too, when Id call and ask - one operator hanged me up maybe twice, very cold ppl in there. Almost inhuman Id say. Id have to say maybe more than one person was involved, but they did very little to track my stuff down, and when it came to it, they only paid me 200$ when it shoulda been more like 500, and for what they stole, how rare it was and how precious it was to me, the time it took and everything else -- thousands. And the only reason this guy even bothered to give me any damn remuneration was because he "felt sorry" - disgusting ppl. They wouldnt do a damn thing either, tried to track it thru the ambulance, dont think they did though, that they have a lot of companies or some such thing that handles that, but they were not even involved most likely, doubt my stuff even was able to board that vehicle, what was in my bag. I still want all of that back, but some things are irreplaceable, and I doubt theyd pay me another 200 since thats what it really would have added up to at least. Leeching vulturistic kick-you-when-youre-down greedy uncompassionate indecent animal bastages. Youve read the reviews - go to Mercy San Juan, its the better hospital in Sacramento.

I went to the ER in bad pelvic pain. Dr. HASTINGS was unfortunately the doctor assigned to "assess" me. IT WASNT SO MUCH HIM ASSESSING ME AS IT WAS HIM JUST TELLING ME WHAT IM FEELING WITHOUT EVEN ASKING ME QUESTIONS. He must be quite the doctor if I just by looking at where pain is he is sure of a diagnosis! I have never met a more unprofessional and incorrect doctor! He walks in and asks me why I am there, I show him where the pain is: on the left side of my lower stomach to my pelvic bone and he tells me its probably menstrual cramps. (Really? Cause I didnt think of that when I drove all the way down to the hospital for pain I have once a month! Do all of us women get the same ridiculous diagnosis whenever we have pain in that area? Does it make a Drs job easier just to put the blame on Aunt Flow? Im sure if anyone is an expert on menstrual pain: it would be us!.) Then follows to say my vitals came back normal so its probably nothing and I should have went to see my doctor. I explain to him I know what cramps feels like and this was completely different, that its a stabbing pain on my side, not my uterus. He asks if I took medicine, I respond with "Yes I took ibuprofen that seemed to help" He says "Okay then...." and gives me a look of confusion. I explained to him that I do not want to take painkillers to mask this pain without knowing the underlining cause. (You think that would have been the doctors thoughts.) He says "Well theres nothing on that side of the body that can cause too much damage so I wouldnt worry." (Too much damage? Is this guy a joke...) He asks what my concern is and as I start to answer as his phone rings... he answers, walks out of the room and completely cuts me off. I waited 5 minutes for him to come back in or for someone to explain why he just walked out abruptly and nothing. I walk out of this hospital to go elsewhere. (PS it was a kidney stone) I hope this administration takes into account the complete ignorant people they have given the power to give diagnosis. Peoples health and bodies are not something that should be quickly "scanned" over in minutes so it makes this hospital or its doctors jobs "easier". So pleaseeeeeee take my advice and avoid this hospital if possible. Take your health (and money because we know it isnt cheap) some place where you can receive the correct diagnosis along with some respect.
