Looking for an eye care doctor? Want some nice new shades? Look no further. For me LNY Optometry was a one stop shop for profession eyecare. Whether I need prescription glasses, contact lenses, or just yearly eye exam check-up, LNY was it for me. Although they are located in Pacific Beach, which was all the way on the other side of San Diego for, the drive was worth the service. If you are like me, you get nervous when someone is looking and possibly touching something as sensitive and delicate as your eyes. Before I would tense up at the thought of getting my eyes checked. However, Dr. Yonemasu patience, knowledge, and eagerness to answer all my questions made the experience very calming and reassuring for me. I am extremely grateful for all the tips that he and Dr. Pham (who is often mistaken as the receptionist) gave me after my Lasik treatment. Funny thing is that they spent more time discussing my post Lasik care with me than the office that did my actual Lasik. It is hard to find caring eye doctor in San Diego who are not corporate own; therefore it irritates me when I read bad reviews written by people who lacks the basis to provide meaning feedback. I say this because I recently visited LNY Optometry when my husband was due for his annual eye exam, and during said visit, I witnessed a nonsensical incident that makes me roll my eye balls to the back of my head. I am writing this review to call out that individual who came into LNY optometry and threatened to leave the business with negative review when Dr. Pham wanted to charge him for the service that he was requesting. How dare Dr. Pham try to run a business and charge for her service right?!? He came in without an appointment. He wanted a FREE nose pad replacement on his glasses because he lost his, and he wanted a fitting adjustment on his glasses. Wait for the shocker. He wanted this service done for FREE. He is not a current patient or customer. He did not bought his glasses from LNY optometry. He came on a busy time when there are patients with appointment waiting to see the doctor. When Dr. Pham explained to him that it would cost $10 and suggest that he come back in an hour, because she had other patients with appointment to assist first. He flipped out and complained that it should not take that long and the material cost for the nose pad is so minimal that he should get it for FREE. He complained that $10 is so minimal that she should just do it for FREE. If $10 is so minimal then why bother complaining about it and just pay the office the minimal fee for their service. This is a small a business with operating cost and scheduled patients to attend to. They are not running a charity! If he wanted it done for free, then he should issue them a tax receipt so they can write off the FREE service that he rudely demanded as a deduction. It boils my blood when people just expect services for FREE because they think the cost is "minimal" and that Costco or some other large corporate owned business does it for FREE so small local businesses should do it for FREE to. Needless to say he left threatening to leave a bad review (because he did not get FREE services). Bottom line is if you want professional eye care services then LNY Optometry is your place. If you want FREE services then go find a non-profit optometry office!

I have been to many different optometry places, but once I tried LnY optometry, I haven’t been to anywhere else for the last 6 or 7 years. I come here once a year and each time their service is exceptional. Dr. Yosuke is always going above and beyond to show great concern for his patient well-being. During the exam, Dr. Yosuke make sure his patient fully understands the process and explain in great length any concerns. He is willing to take his time with his patient unlike some of the optometrists I have been to that always trying to end the exam, so they can see the next patient. Regarding their prices for glasses and contacts are definitely competitive with other places. Dr. Pham in the front desk always fully explained to me my insurance coverage and different options/price for either glasses or contacts that I choose. During all my time coming to LnY optometry, I never felt they are trying to take advantage or trying to rip me off. Their services, prices and caring not only got my business, but my wife and brother also come here to see them as well. I would definitely recommend LnY optometry to my families and coworkers.

Our family has been coming to LNY Optometry since they opened. We receive excellent care. You really feel like part of a family. My daughter feels safe and confortable getting her yearly check up with Dr. Y. He does a great job making the exam fun for her. Dr. Pham makes sure the glasses she picks are a good fit and we are very satisfy with their services and glasses. A few years ago Dr. Y detected nystagmus in our daughters eyes. According to the doctor it may be serious. They were very professional and caring in handling the newly discovered nystagmus and made recommendations to follow up. Through their advises the stressful situation was minimal. They even made after hour calls to follow up with us. We are so thankful for them being there for us. We live all the way in north county and the drive isnt close but it is well worth it. We have confident placing our vision care at LNY Optometry. Thank you ahaon LNY Optometry for all your dedications in providing excellent vision care. The Pham family.

We we first contacted Pham, I gave her all my insurance info. She contacted my insurance to make sure I was covered, we next let her know our concerns glasses for my wife, and contacts for myself. Set the appointment, no worries. Wife was first, no problems except for the lack of customer service on helping her. Now my turn.... All along I was wanting contacts, they knew that. I did there little checks in the waiting room, then moved into the other exam room. When I was all done being checked for glasses, really???? I was told that I can have the basic exam for contacts. I will not get me a prescription to order, for that will cost an additional $79.95. Really??? I was told in the beginning of everything that my insurance covered this... So I left, went home, called my insurance to reconfirm coverage. Called another optometrist explained everything to them, and what do you know... Im covered, and no out of pocket! THIS PLACE IS TRYING TO SCAM YOU OUT OF MONEY.... DONT GO

Its always nice to find highly competent, professional, and personable optometrists. Drs. Yonemasu and Pham are definitely those. Dr. Yonemasu has been my optometrist since I moved to San Diego in 2010. Hes always very friendly, and definitely takes pride in his work. One year, he caught something he thought was suspicious, so he referred me to a specialist. Everything turned out to be fine, but the specialist remarked that hes surprised that my optometrist caught that on a routine examine - most wouldnt. Ive been so pleased with my experiences with them that Ive referred friends and co-workers to them. Keep up the good work!
