My main reason for choosing Del Mar Eyecare initially was the absolutely cutting edge equipment. I love high tech diagnostic equipment and most places dont make the big investment needed for those expensive machines. Their comprehensive eye exam is the most thorough exam I have ever had. Scanned images of everything you can imagine, your retina, your optical nerve, all tiny blood vessels is only one part of the high tech testing they do. All without any discomfort like those eye drops that make your vision blurry for hours. Most importantly the thorough exam allows for exact prescriptions. Before I went to Dr. Chan I just couldnt get that first pair of glasses right. My vision just felt slightly off when wearing them. The testing Dr. Chan did was 3 times as thorough with much more variety than just swapping a few lenses until a letter looks ok. Dr Chan takes the time to go through every detail with you and patiently answers all your questions. The staff is very polite and professional. Overall better than any optometrist Ive ever been to. I recommend Del Mar Eyecare and Dr. Chan without hesitation.

I have only been a patient of Dr. Chans since January 2015, but since that time he has been an incredible help to not just myself buy my family as well. I am not an easy patient because I ask a million questions and want to know why my eyes work or dont work. Dr. Chan didnt just answer questions about myself, but also went above and beyond to help my mom with her eye troubles and she isnt even a patient of Del Mar Eyecare. My mom has suffered for the last 50 years from painful dry eyes with pain and vision troubles that her current doctor had been unable to solve. Dr. Chan put her on the dry eye regimen and she could not be happier. She said for the first time in her life her eyes dont hurt all the time and the light sensitivity that caused so many issues is going away. My only wish is that we had found Dr. Chan sooner.
