This is a counter review to “cheese head”. As the mother and step-father of the patient mentioned by “cheese head”, we are extremely happy with Dr. Steve’s work. We are the ones who have met him several times and paid for his work. Dr. Steve is a psychologist rather than a psychiatrist and has never prescribed any medication to our daughter. He is extremely supportive of our daughter and has helped her through a variety of issues. Our daughter feels very safe with Dr. Steve and has even requested extra meetings with him when she is struggling. We are very lucky for her to have such a positive influence in her life. While she did have a rough first semester of college, she takes full responsibility for that and does not blame her therapist. Dr. Steve has actually been a great asset to help get her back on course and moving forward while maintaining a positive attitude. We would highly recommend Dr. Steve to any parents who may need his assistance.

My teenage son did not come home one night from school and I was very worried and upset. I had an appointment set up with Steven Lazarus (at 6:30pm) and I had to call him to let him know that we were not going to be able to make it and to let him know what is going on and thought maybe he could give me some ideas of what I should do. Well that is not what happened. He said "Well he is most likely at a friends house playing video game and so I guess I get to go home early" Who says that to a mother that can not find her child. So then I thought I was under a lot of stress so I should let that comment go and move on. Well I was checking my bank account on-line and found out he charged me for an appointment that I did NOT make it to because my son was missing. I think that should fit in to the Emergency category. I will never go back and I would not recommend him to anyone.

Our family met with Dr. Steve Lazarus over a five year period in family counseling sessions with our teenage son. Our son was in high school at the time and was troubled and having difficulty in finding his way. Through Steves ongoing help and direction our son was able to ultimately successfully graduate from high school and has now gone on to finish college and enter the workforce as an adult. I never remember leaving a session with Steve in which we did not have ideas and a direction to work on and incorporate into our family life. Steve was actually our guiding light through a very difficult time in both ours and our sons life. We found the relationship with Steve and our family to be one of cooperation and mutual respect. I would highly recommend Dr. Steve Lazarus as a child and family psychologist.
