Its unfortunate there is not a 0 star area that would allow me to check, its deserved. While I appreciate this places ability (and all vets) to cure an animals health they do a horrible job at quoting the job which as we all know is an important part hence finding a vet you can trust. Not once but numerous times I have visited them and told one price only to find out at checkout it was very much different than I was told. In speaking with numerous people throughout the town the consensus was a vast majority also experienced the same issues at one point. Given there are not to many vet options in Glastonbury, many people like myself choose to not make a change until recently. The tipping point was this: At the very least I have tried to save some money by ordering my pet medication online this year to absorb some of my surprise vet costs which this same establishment had written the same prescription not even 10 months ago for. In trying to save $50+ on the cost for a few pills, when you order a pet script online the check with your local vet for approval. Needless to say it was denied two times. They asked that my pet come back in for the same cost it was last year, for a check up plus the cost of the meds. Needless to say there is not much effort what so ever to help retain there local customer base or simply apologize for all the situations that occur. You would think that the vets, assistants & front desk staff would be well trained in simple pricing and customer service & loyalty. Instead its occurred to me there a place that simply plays fast money given were a society that will do anything for our pets. You should have better luck the next town or two over.

My dogs have been going there for quite a while and every time we have tried to give them more chances they fail to improve. Our last visit was when I finally decided we have had enough. They tell you one price at the beginning and it ends up being a completely different one when you pull out your card at the end of the visit. Our last visit we were told 300 and it came out to 600. That is a big difference and was not the first time. I also tried to refill my dogs allergy medicine because the season is back and they told me he needed to be reevaluated in order to receive it again (probably to get another 600 dollars out of us) I am now on a search for a new vet and am more than happy to take him to get evaluated there because I refuse to take him back to this place. Completely unsatisfied and I do not recommend this place to anyone. Also the front desk have no clue what they are doing and are completely rude as well. Not caring and need to get their pricing correct as well.

I have been going to Glastonbury Animal Hospital for 28 years. It has always been great, but ever since Dr. Cottahus has taken over the care and service you receive is second to none. Pricing is fair and even if it wasnt the care and service is worth every penny. I would never price shop nor go anywhere else. When my dog had to have ACL surgery a few years back they said to check around on pricing elsewhere if I would like, my only question was how soon could they do the surgery, not would it be cheaper somewhere else. Everyone there is fantastic to deal with and would recommend them to everyone who truly cares about their pet.

We did not have the best experience, the doctor tried charging us for a checkup in addition to the money for the shot after we had already been approved for a shot-only appointment. Once we explained this to the lady at the front desk she treated us with very poor customer service and kept arguing that every time an animal comes in the owners are always charged with a checkup (even though we had paperwork that the doctor had waved the fee at home). We will not be attending the place again because the lady who checked us out was very poorly mannered and clearly does not know how to deal with people-get over yourself.

Took me 4 phone calls with their staff to get my order of Heartguard for my dog put through. Constant phone calls trying to get me to purchase it through them after asking politely for them to stop selling me on it. Also everytime I go in Im concerned for what they are going to charge me, my first visit they offered to clip his nails while doing a routine check up. It seemed polite enough and I was appreciative, then they charged me $40 for the 2 minutes of work that it sounded like they were politely offering to do for free.

We have been using the Glastonbury animal hospital for many years. It is always a very pleasant and professional experience. Everybody that we have dealt with is extremely nice, knowledgeable, and willing to go out of their way to ensure the health of our animals. We have had some significant health problems with our dogs and they have always been there for us. I would recommend the Glastonbury animal hospital to anyone who is looking for competent and compassionate care for their pets.

After moving here two years ago, our "senior" dogs developed serious issues and both were dealt with extremely professionally. One had irreversible heart and other issues and Drs. Kirk and Marsh guided us and our pet through the end-of-life experience without a lot of doubt and unnecessary expense/suffering; and the other appeared to be on deaths doorstep but Dr. Cotthaus developed a hypothesis about how to rejuvenate her that proved spot-on!

I have been bringing my now 13 year old Yorkie Here since he was a puppy. They have always treated me and my dog as part of their family. I cant say enough good things about the friendly staff and doctors! We mostly see Dr Rob Cotthaus who has been a pleasure and is so good at making us feel comfortable always in a friendly and informative way. I would recommend this practice to anyone who is looking for top notch care for their pet!

I have been going to Glastonbury Animal Hospital with my pets for over 20 years. They are always polite and helpful at the front desk...even on the busiest of days. The veterinarians and Vet Techs are all extremely competent. They truly care about the animals. Questions are always answered, help is always given. Thank you Dr. Cotthaus and staff!

I switch from a vet in middletown where the staff was afraid of my dog. At GAH they are friendly and made my dog feel very safe and welcome, couldnt be happier.
