Recently brought my 9 yr old samoyed to this vet hospital, he was really sick, stopped eating, couldnt walk, we took him to 2 other vets before coming here, my dog hadnt been himself the past few months & i took him in to another vet about a month ago, when his symptoms were just mild crankyness & not wanting to do much lately, they couldnt find anything to suggest he was as sick as he was, the vet we took him to after he got really sick over the weekend didnt do anything for him , we had to bring my beautiful Mellow to him in a wheel barrel & the dr sent us home without doing any diagnostic work & told us to keep giving him the antibiotics he was taking before he went off his food. I even asked the dr to give him iv fluids or steroids or even a shot of vitamins just something to make him more comfortable, but he got nothing! This VCA hospital did everything they could for him, the initial estimate was around $1,000, they did xrays & blood work & iv fluids & when the tests started to show he had pancreatic cancer & was dying, we had to make the difficult decision to let him go, they only charged us around 500 for everything including euthanasia . Ive owned animals all of my life & ive been to atleast a dozen different veterinary hospitals, this one was by far the most compassionate, considerate, and affordable hospital for the care they provide. Even when i had to let him go, they were very kind about it. They didnt judge me for being young or treat me like i couldnt pay the bill like many other vets have, they even did an autopsy for no charge to give me some peace of mind that the cancer was too far progressed to save him, as the primary tumor had died & started rotting & had spread to the neighboring organs. It was my first visit with this hospital, we are new to the area and we had 4 dogs (3 now) Ive gone to multiple area vets for various reasons since moving out here and none of them are as equipped or efficient or effective or affordable as this hospital is. Much of the diagnostic equipment is on site, so the testing wasnt as expensive as a hospital that outsources the diagnostic lab work. Please, if you have a real problem with your pet, bring them here first, i wish i did. They are a good, well equipped hospital that seems to know what they are doing. I know they would of been the hospital to save him if he had a chance to live. Miss my big fluffy hero so much, i love you Mellow, 9 years was too short for a great soul like yours.

My 10 lb. Jack Russel Terrier was sick for about 6 weeks. We brought her to two different vets before being referred to VCA Valley Animal Hospital. Neither of the other two vets even suggested xrays for her, but VCA Valley did. They found that she had something (turned out to be a piece of a rope toy) lodged in her small intestine. They were able to do emergency surgery and remove it. They saved her life. I have had 2 follow-up visits with them and have been extremely impressed with everyone on their staff from the Doctors to the Technicians to the Front Desk help. Theyve called daily to check on how she is doing and they actually make me feel like they care! I would recommend this vet to EVERYONE! I will be moving all of my other pets over to them, as well. We have seen Dr. Jacobsen (AMAZING!!!!) and Dr. Funaro (Shes good, but seems a little new - but again she did a great job too - she left me a very detailed message and then fully explained everything to me again when I called her back). They are very easy to talk to about payment options, and if there is something that they can waive for you, they do! I dont normally give out 5 stars, but theyre very deserving of it, I wish I could give them 6!

I was nervous about visiting the hospital mostly because of the price but I was able to download a coupon online since I was a new customer. The front desk staff could have been a little cheerful but it was 7 at night so I let it slide. My chihuahua Belli CONSTANTLY has a skin infection so I am accustomed to going to the vet at least once a month. The vet (Dr. Jodi) was superb! I am absolutely happy that I finally went. She was not into just giving my dog some steroids and an antibiotic. She explained her reasoning and did not make me feel uncomfortable about pricing or what items I could and could not afford. I was able to take a few items off. The doctors visit was pricier than what I am accustomed to ($61 compared to $21) but it was worth it. She flooded me with knowledge and was very into our conversation. I visited a previous vet and I felt like I was being rushed and he did nothing in regards of explaining his decision for treatment or the products he insisted I purchased. I would recommend this place to any of my other animal lovers. AND the vet techs were nice as well. The location was constantly being swept and was very clean.

I love VCA Valley in South Windsor. I have always taken my pets there. I currently have a 15 year old Shih Tzu who is suffering from atypical Cushings. Very difficult to treat. She has constant recurring skin infections. Dr Jodi Willis has been wonderful. She is very knowledgeable and spends lots of time with me discussing the condition and possible treatment options. She is sympathetic to the high cost of treatments and tries to find ways to save a little (like larger pills to cut into parts- cheaper than getting smaller dose pills). It is obvious that she loves animals and always has their best interests at heart. I would not want to go to any other vet, especially for such a difficult continuous problem that constantly needs checking and treatment revision and adaptation. Dr Willis is never too busy or impatient. Shes the BEST.

We brought our black lab there after a minor accident in the snow, in the middle of the storm. They were the only place open in the morning, and the job they did bandaging Shadys paw was top-notch. Repeat visit was a little busy, because its snowing again! The price was about 1/3 less than what I expected, and it actually was lower than the estimate that they provided to us upon diagnosis. The follow-up was at 7pm - very convenient hours for us. They have cookies for the dogs everywhere! Its comforting to know that they have many in-house emergency services available. We really love our regular vet, but we are probably going to change vets because of the positive experience we had at VCA.

I have a ferret and the closest vca that dealt with exotic pets was in South Hadley Ma which at the time was a 40 minute drive for me. I recently moved to Connecticut and sawe there were a few vcas closer to me so I sent this office a few emails just simply asking if they treat ferrets. I never received a response. I hate using phones, I prefer emails so its how I do things. The South Hadley office, I wasnt impressed with at all, very unorganized and the staff were rude so I really wanted to find a new vca. Personally, all vcas should treat all the same animals, not just one or 2 in every state. Ridiculous
