I went to Rathjens Vision Care last year for the first time after I noticed things getting a little blurry while trying to read. I hadnt had my eyes checked since 9th grade and sure enough my vision wasnt what it used to be. Turns out I had astigmatism, at 43 it shouldnt have been too shocking. Dr. Rathjens and his staff tested my eyes and made sure I understood exactly what was happening with my vision. Yesterday i had my second annual exam and Dr. Rathjens gently broke the news to me that I will in fact need bifocals or reading glasses in the future, though not quite yet. Other doctors may have pushed a new pair of glasses on me but Dr. Rathjens was honest and realistic about how much my vision had changed, how much a new prescription would actually help and let me make the choice on whether or not to get a new pair of glasses. Im sure a new pair will be in order for me at next years exam and I think Ill go with the progressive lens they described to me. I highly recommend Rathjens Vision Care. I was a little embarassed after not having my eyes checked in so long but they made me feel comfortable right away. I highly recommend them!

I recently went to Rathjens Vision Care for a routine eye exam and to be fitted for contacts and I cannot say enough good things about this practice!! From the moment I walked in the doors, to the moment I walked out, the entire staff was amazing! Not only was my wait time less than five minutes, but I also witnessed the staff sanitize all the equipment before it was my turn to use it. I saw Dr. Rossi, who has to be the sweetest doctor Ive ever met. Not only was Dr. Rossi cheerful and patient, but she also willingly answered all of my questions without making me feel like a bother. In addition, when it came time to be fitted for my contacts and learn how to insert and remove them, the technician who assisted me, was helpful, professional, and most importantly, patient. Thus, I HIGHLY recommend Rathjens Vision Care for anyone looking for an optometrist!

This office literally has the worst service that I have ever received in my life. I got stuck with them to get fitted for contacts and then entered a vortex of chaos, confusion, and rudeness. I couldnt fit my contacts in right after my eye exam so I made an appointment a week out. I came back a week later only to get turned away. Apparently nobody had ordered my trials. They said they would order them and call me when they came in. A week later they call me. Apparently, my contacts were there all along. Wait, why didnt you call me earlier? I figured I would be able to come in right away. No, sorry, we are all booked. Well, I guess I will just have to wait until the end of the summer, since I am going away. I should have gone with Hamden Eye from the beginning, but now I am stuck. Dont make the same mistake I did.

Out of the people at the front desk making the appoinments there was one who was so rude, and had an attitude, for no reason...Listen, if you are going to work in that spot, you need to be more people friendly and when reporting to work leave your attitude at home. After the horrible mistreatment, I decided to not make an appointment there, and find some other vision center with a much better staff...Luckily the one in the bottom floor near target, had excellent customer service.

I was there on 7/25 for a routine eye exam. Besides having to fill out a lot of forms, which is the case with every medical office, my visit was wonderful. I had Dr Dina Rossi. She explained every single detail about my eye exam, results and future treatment. I am very happy with the decision I made to choose her when I booked my online appointment. Check out with Kelly was very pleasant. There is such a great staff there.

I called today to make an appointment. I have been here before and the service with the Drs were great. I spoke to Christine this morning and she was very matter of fact and had no care about my needs. She turned out to be rude and I told her I changed my mind. I will find another provider whos front desk is so rude!

VERY DISRESPECTFUL EVERYTIME IVE CALLED OR HAVE HAD TO TALK TO SOMEONE A LINEN NAMED DANIELLE PICKS UP AND SHE IS THE MOST RUDE DISRESPECTFUL UNHELPFUL PERSON I HAVE EVER TALKED TO I SUGGEST TO GO TO A DIFFERENT EYES CARE PLACE IF ONE OF THEM IS NASTY THENTHEY PROBABLY ALL ARE... DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.

This place is very poorly run. They overbook and you are guaranteed to wait an hour to see someone with an appointment. They charged me for a contacts lens fitting that wasnt completed. Stay away and get better service elsewhere.
