He is a scam artist! My husband was brought in for FOUR doctors visits in the time span of 4 months. He called before his physical to ask if he should get blood work first, and was told no; he should come in first (that was billed to insurance). Then he was sent for blood work, where apparently the doctor orders every test possible- fifteen different tests were ordered for a healthy male in his 40s, when all of this blood work was done the year before). The recommendation as per the state of Illinois Department of Health (I cant find anything on Connecticuts site) is that blood work be done every 2 years, so I am not sure why all those tests were ordered for a healthy individual every year. He was then brought back for a visit to review the results (billed again to the insurance). Then he was brought in for ANOTHER visit, within two weeks for an unnecessary abdominal ultrasound (the recommendation is that this be done for males between the ages of 65 and 75, if you are a smoker... neither of which apply to my husband). When called to complain about this, we were informed that we shouldnt have been charged for that. However, if we didnt complain, we would have paid the bill and never would have been the wiser! Furthermore, at this visit, he was offered some type of "health counseling" (which should have been conducted at the initial physical, if it is to happen- or at the patients request). I am of the opinion this was done, once again, for the profit of the practice, not the well-being of the patient. (when I called about this, I was then told he was brought back in to follow up on the Lyme (not the health counseling I was originally told) he had tested positive for, however, I still dont understand why this was done BEFORE the follow up blood work was performed to see if the antibiotics were effective. When this point was raised, I was then told, oh we check to see how the patient is feeling (as if this couldnt be done with a simple phone call). Follow up blood work was done after this unnecessary appointment, and an additional visit, rather than a simple call, was required to let my husband know his results were back to normal. Furthermore, when my husband went in for this last visit, he asked if he was getting charged for the appointment, and was given the flip response from one of the receptionists, "What do you care? Your insurance is paying for this." You can see from the attached spreadsheet how much this doctor is billing insurance due to unnecessary appointments and tests! Needless to say, my husband is changing doctors and I am filing a complaint with the state health department. It is more than a shame that someone you are supposed to trust isnt looking out for your best interest. Healthcare in this country is a trainwreck, and overbilling doctors are part of the problem. While one may not pay directly at times for this, with insurance, ultimately, every does pay in their premiums etc!

Love DR. T Hes great and staff but the front desk lady needs to be alittle more professional instead of having an attitude problem and blaming the patient for being wrong. Kind of upsetting, she is very rude.
