I took my daughter for a follow up appointment today and the doctor was an hour behind seeing us. Three different staff members told me it was because the doctor had just returned from vacation and she was backed up. When the doctor finally came and got us I mentioned that she might consider lightening her case load on days when she is just back from vacation to avoid this and she looked at me funny. She said it had nothing to do with her vacation and that it was because she saw "10 emergency cases". I was shocked that her several of her staff could say something that she immediately told me wasnt true. The doctor’s response was that the staff is “only high school educated" and sometimes dont deal with people well and dont do what they are asked. I then asked her that since she was not “only high school educated” then at emergency case 6 or 7 why she didnt instruct her staff to start rescheduling patients so as to not waste our time. This resulted in a lecture about how I was being rude to her in front of my daughter. Great. I am made to wait and told untruths by her staff and I am the one being rude? I am the one she is going to lecture about how to raise kids? Mind you, there was absolutely no shouting or cursing..I just didnt take the multitude of excuses the doctor was giving me at face value and that was considered "rude." The kicker at the end was that as I was checking out they asked me for a balance due of $120. At this point I didn’t trust myself restraint anymore and just walked out before I could say anything offensive. Even my 6 year old daughter said she didn’t like the way we were treated on the way home. Bottom line: Go here if you want some to lecture you on parenting, not if you want to deal with people that value YOUR time. Also, if you want to work at a place where apparently you dont have to do what your boss tells you and get to say what you want ask for a job application! (But not if you have higher than a “high school education.”)

I will give the benefit of the doubt with two stars. Wife and child went to the office and met with Dr. Densel. Lazy eye was a diagnosis from my daughters elementary. The Dr did tests and determined that she needed glasses. My wife was not happy and asked if alternatives existed and was told no, no other options. My wife decided to take prescription for glasses and diagnosis for school with her. She informed the doctor she would look for a second opinion . Had a second opinion by a well regarded Ophthalmologist in the Stamford area I have used and was recommended by people in the area for children also. His analysis was the eyes are close enough that he does not see further issues developing and that glasses would be like a pane of glass for her and would be tossed quickly. Reading the above, looks like just a difference of opinion. Where things become strange is the school form that needed to be filled out looks completely different from the two doctors. One filled in exactly what the school wrote for the eye issues in both the near and far areas. The other filled in the information from the diagnosis. Want to take a guess which did which? Should note her near vision is perfect and doctor just put the bad diagnosis for far in both fields. There were also additional charges for other services, but my wife was informed they wouldnt be covered by insurance. The difference between the two appointments, cost wise, was significant.

I would 10/10 recommend Greenwich Ophthalmology. Their offices are well-kept and staff approachable and friendly. I made an emergency appointment for a general examination. They were able to fit me in at a days notice! Dr. Donna Densel was a dream! A true professional in the field, she was thoughtful and listened to my concerns before she proceeded with a very well explained process of examinations that identified almost immediately the issue with my eyes. She put me at ease by explaining the diagnosis and mapping out a simple treatment schedule for the issue. I was in and out within 30 minutes! As a new patient to Greenwich Ophthalmology, I can highly recommend their practice and Dr. Densel! I will be a patient for life, thank you Dr. Densel!

I have been going to Greenwich Ophthalmology since I was a small child and I absolutely love the group. Dr. Densel has been my primary eye doctor for years and she is kind and gentle, always putting me at ease while sitting in her chair. Last week I had LASIK eye surgery with Dr. Mandava- phenomenal!!! The next day I was seeing better than 20/20. Not only was the procedure quick (less than 15 minutes in the procedure room) but almost completely pain free! And Dr. Mandava was one of the best doctors I have ever encountered. He was unbelievably calming and answered every question I had as a nervous patient. I have always had a pleasant experience with the staff and I would highly recommend the group as a whole. Thank you so much!

I started using Greenwich Opthalmology Associates in 2014. Dr. Tsong is my doctor in the group. Hes very nice, professional and has a very caring persona about him. Extremely knowledgeable in his field and I feel confident knowing that Im seeing an expert in the field of Opthalmology. I would highly recommend Dr. Tsong, if youre looking for an eye doctor. The reception staff is wonderful, very friendly and professional. The office is beautiful, too. Also, the department where you select your eye glass frames (optional, but so convenient to order right there) has a wonderful selection of eye glass frames and the staff are extremely helpful.

I accompanied my mom to her annual eye exam. Although we have both been patients of Greenwich Ophthalmology for years, it was her first appointment with Dr. Conway. This was one of the few times we were seen promptly. He was kind, patient, and took the time to explain the results of the exam. Much of the exam was spent with Amanda, his assistant, who was superb! She was extremely personable, kind, sweet, very knowledgeable, patient, caring, and understanding. She obviously loves what she does. In all the years we have been to Greenwich Ophthalmology, we have never had such an extraordinary assistant!

BEWARE. Rude doctors, rude staff, terrible service. Their business model is performing unnecessary $$$ tests which are not covered by any insurance company. They dont explain that the tests wont be covered and dont allow you to opt out of them. Total lack of communication. Appears to be intentional dishonesty. Do not trust them. The billing manager told me they have received so many complaints they have posted framed warning signs in their lobby to try and avoid liability for all the extra tests they perform without asking you or explaining the tests. Very disappointing experience. AVOID and BEWARE.

I was very happy with my visit with Dr. Tsong today as well as all the staff. I only waited a few minutes and the staff was efficient and friendly. This is probably the most efficiently run doctors office I have ever been in. I love the fact that they text you twice. First as a reminder of your appointment, which is approximately a week before the appointment and then again a few days prior and you can text back whether or not you can make the appointment. Excellent idea it was.
