The doctors were all nice, but the front desk is horrible, they answer the phone very rude, they will answer back to you rude. They are full of mistakes and are horrible to deal with. If you are looking for professional customer service and want answers and normal tasks done by the front desk, this is not the place for you. I went there to get an exam. I wanted to know how much this process would cost me in the end without contacts. They told me that I would owe $100.00 when I asked them after insurance, I was then hit with another $120.00 bill a month later. I called to ask them about it and they told me that is just a regular charge that they did not need to inform me about b/c it is standard. This was a major mistake. Its like taking your car to the mechanic, you bring it to fix the steering. They tell you it is $200.00, you pay and leave with the fixed car. Then a month later you get the bill for another $100.00. You call and they said that is a standard fee for the hoses, clamps, wiring and fluid. You then have to pay up. Remember, the front desk represents the Doctors and should be professional. If I knew, I wouldve picked another eye center. I just happened to pick this one out of the yellowpages. Do yourself a favor and go to another place.

I have used Vision Care for at least 20 years. My last visit was 11 months ago. The positives: I have never had any problem with the front desk staff - theyre busy, but pleasant. I particularly like Seth who works on the glasses fitting end. Dr Chin is great (I have never used Dr Maiolo, and I believe Dr DeCarlo is now retired). Excellent selection of frames. Comfortable waiting room with bathroom and good magazines. The negatives: Has become a lot less customer service friendly. Atmosphere is more manic, seems more profit driven. Prices have increased by 50% in the past 6 years. On my last visit, in the process of being examined and fitted for new glasses, my current pair were badly scratched, making them useless as a backup pair. I wasnt offered anything off of the $930 I was paying for my new glasses. Disappointing - after all these years, wont be going back.

Used Stamford Vision Care for couple of years. Very helpful, friendly staff. It gets busy with phones and appointments so you have to understand that they are trying to be helpful but also need to be quick as they have many clients to take care of. I have always been taken care of nicely in there myself. As far as Dr. DeCarlo he has always been great, always very informative and shared plenty of info while taking his time with me. Trust them with my eyes. As far as the glass salesman they have always been friendly, never pushy, listen to what you say and are patient. Theyll answer questions and have been helpful in my experiences.

I called to get a first appointment and I was able to get one for my husband and me within a week. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful. The doctor was professional and thorough. Good selection of frames. Prices were clearly presented and options were reviewed before deciding on a final choice. The only criticism I have is that they said the glasses would be ready in two weeks. Two weeks went by without a call. I called them three weeks later and the glasses were there waiting for us. They should have called us when they came in and not have us wait and call them. I would recommend Stamford Vision Care.

I have been coming to Stamford Vision Care for over twenty years! The office is aways professional and friendly and the Doctors are awesome! For the last few years I have been seeing Dr. Maiolo. He is wonderful! A few years back I contracted a very bad eye infection and he helped me through it and I will always be grateful to him! The office has a great selection of eye glasses, which I appreciate. I never feel like I have to wait a long time when I am there. I have referred this office to many friends and coworkers. I think this is a great office and wont consider going anywhere else!

Dr. Maiolo is an extremely intelligent, approachable, friendly doctor. He listened to me carefully and answered all of my questions patiently. He worked with me through insurance questions and gave me a discount on the exam and eyewear to give me the best deal possible. My glasses were ready for pickup the SAME day, and the entire staff was very helpful. When I had a billing issue with my insurance, they emailed me a full description of the services & billing to help me through. I would recommend them to anyone who needs an eye exam or new glasses. Great frame selection, too!

Contrary to the other review written here, I didnt have any issues with the front desk being rude. They were slightly incompetent and didnt tell me about a charge I incurred at the time of the contact lens fitting until I called back later to order contacts. My $85 contact lens fitting also came with a $45 retinal image. However this being said the eye doctor was very nice (Jessie Chin) and helpful answering my questions. Their prices for services are a bit on the high side but thats what insurance is for.

Dr Maiolo is an amazing diagnostician. I went to 3 different doctors because I couldnt get a good RX for contact lenses. In a couple of minutes he diagnosed that I was actually wearing my one lens in the wrong eye! Since then I have abandoned contacts and wear glasses. I would NEVER go to anyone else, and I travel from White Plains. He follows up and always takes an interest in his patients. The staff is also great! I would recommend him to the moon and back!

For the first time in my life (45 years!) I was finally able to actually SEE! Dr. Maiolo was wonderful in explaining the issues I have with my eyes, why I have never been able to see well and finally working with me to find the correct style of contact and prescription to allow me to see clearer than I ever have. I am so thankful to him and his staff, who have all been extremely pleasant. I definitely would refer him!

Called to get prices for contact fittings, without buying lenses there. Was told it was "$85 and up", I asked up to what she said she had no idea, and it could be $500. Talk about a scam, when I asked what it was without getting lenses from them, just the fitting I was called "belligerent" by the extremely rude staff. A true example of people who shouldnt breed. I will be spreading the word to everyone I know or meet.

Dr Maiolo took me without an appointment last Saturday. I had a torn contact lens stuck under my lid. He removed it and made an adjustment to my contact lens which made them even better. I am a first time feared and have been doing two week trials. Dr Maiolo has taken the time to make sure that I am perfectly comfortable and have the best results. Thank you.
