Wolcott Vet killed my cat. I brought my cat to Wolcott Vet because she was constipated and lethargic. Doctor Maria Miller could not determine what was wrong with my cat, and recommended that she be kept overnight for an enema and observation. My cat was an indoor cat who had most of her teeth removed a few years ago. Doctor Maria Miller noted that my cat needed an updated rabies shot. Believing that she is a veterinary professional, I consented despite my own personal misgivings at giving a sick animal a vaccine. This morning I received a call from Doctor Maria Miller informing me that my cat had passed away overnight. After the initial shock passed, I googled "Should you give a rabies vaccine to a sick animal?" Immediately, many results were returned indicating that a sick animal should NEVER be given a vaccine. 14 states have laws against vaccinating sick animals. The manufacturers of the vaccines have warnings against vaccinating a sick animal. When I called her back to discuss this, she brushed off my concerns and said Oh, All the vaccines say that!" My beloved cat is dead because Doctor Maria Miller was more concerned with being able to bill me for the vaccine than with paying attention to the warning labels. Her excuse was that it is the law to vaccinate a cat, and expressed concern that my gentle, near toothless indoor Maine Coon cat could bite one of her staff or another animal and pass on a disease she did not have. She indicated that possibly something else was going on with my cat and that she was sicker than we first thought. In that case, I feel she should NOT have been vaccinated to add to the cats stress, and also as I spent much of the morning with the animal, I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was not near-death. Constipated, and slightly lethargic yes, but in no way near-death. Once again, Wolcott Veterinary Clinic PC on Center Street in Wolcott, CT KILLED MY CAT. She did not deserve to die.

I got my first cat when I was around the age of 7 and I have been going to the wolcott vet clinic ever since then....I am 42 now. I find them all to be outstanding. They are top notch in my book. Dr. Miller and the rest of the Wolcott Vet Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and very professional. I would never bring my animals anywhere else! Dr Jeff Miller is the type of person and professional you just dont find anymore, One who truly loves his profession and his clients. He is just not the average 9 top 5 doctor who tells you sorry we are closed, comeback tomorrow. He and his stafff trully care. I clearly remember the day Dr. Miller came into the clinic on a Sunday afternoon to help me with a sick rabbit. He didnt have to, but he knew it was the right thing to do. He has also helped me on more than one occasion with animals in need of medical attention that where strays and I did not own. Things like help checking out a litter of kittens I found in New Britian, or the 6 week old stray puppy we recently found. During more stressful time his compassionate and professional mannerisms have helped me through the deaths of many of my pets. Whether they passed from old age or unexpectedly he and his staff were always available to help us through those times. No one at the Wolcott has ever ignored me my thoughts and concerns or my animals in anyway. At the end of the day Dr Miller and his staff are not just at the top of their game in their profession but as human beings. The rest of us should take example from them, I believe they make this world a better place for more than just the pets they treat. If you are looking for a place to have your pets truly taken care of in every sense of the word, The Wolcott Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Jeff Miller and his entire staff, is the place you need to go.

We had just moved to Wolcott CT and one of my 2 dogs had hurt her leg, i have no complaints about the treatment given to help her leg, however since they were going to be our new vet, they checked out both our dogs to start the relationship. They called the next day and said both our dogs had lyme disease and we needed to get them on medication immediately. Our dogs had been to the vet 2 months before we moved and were given a clean bill of health so i brought them to another vet and did not mention the lyme disease i wanted them to tell me they had it, all tests came back negative, i have since had them tested 2 more times and they do not have Lyme, i believe the this Vet saw an opportunity to get money from us every month and tried to take it. I dont feel any respectable person would use a pet to try and extort money, i will never walk in the door of the Wolcott Vet again

Dont go to Wolcott vet. They dont care about your dog. Our dog died of cancer, wow maybe 5 years ago now? She was clearly declining for a few months prior to her passing. We voiced concerns on multiple occasions and every time she was given a clean bill of health. The day of her passing, its suddenly "she has a very large tumor, were going to have to put her down". Maybe in 5 years theyve changed but I wouldnt go there again if it was the last vet on this earth. Not animal lovers, just worried about another dollar. Check the reviews. Recently they look good but until a few years ago theres similar cases as ours, where they clearly missed major signs of illness, or mishandled treatment

We have brought our 5 cats for care at The Wolcott Veterinary Clinic for over 20 years. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. Dr. Miller is not only an outstanding DVM but a great person as well. We would trust them with the lives of our pets without hesitation. There have been times when the dedication of these fine people goes above and beyond that of an ordinary Veterinary clinic. It can be difficult diagnosing animals because they just cant tell us whats wrong. I cant imagine anyone doing much better than this staff. Highly recommended!

I have received excellent care for all of my animals at this clinic! The doctors and all staff are friendly and truly care about the patients. They understand that veterinary care is expensive, and while they are straightforward about clients options they do not put pressure on you to spend too much. Not only the doctors, but the entire staff is very passionate about their work. Wolcott Vet was great about caring for my cat, who has had some medical problems but is now being treated and looking very healthy and happy! :)

I could never thank the entire Wolcott Vet Clinic for all they have done for Patima. They treat her as if she was their own (dog) little girl. They had also treated our other dog until she was so sick at 16 yrs old. Thank you Dr. Merza, the other doctors, techs, and Beth for clipping Patimas nails. lol Debby, George & Patima
