I wish I could give zero stars. This place is absolutely horrible!! First off, its called a FloridaWild Veterinary Hospital yet theres only ONE WILDLIFE VET. I took dying ducks here and they didnt appreciate that I called to check up on them. I dont care that theyre wild. I obviously care if I called animal control to bring them in. The third day, when I asked for the vet taking care of them, one of the assistants told me she didnt want to speak to me because I “called too many times” when I only called once each day, this being the third time because it’s the third day. How unprofessional and childish. So anyway, 3 ducks were brought in (including one that I personally raised). They put one to sleep even after I told them not to. I especially made it clear not to do anything to the one I personally raised, well, because they knew I would raise hell. So let me tell you what was wrong with the ducks. 5 all at once were limping on one leg. All of them couldn’t use ONE LEG. Strange, huh? What does the vet say? SHE SAID THEY WERE LIKE THAT CAUSE THEY WERE OBESE. REALLY?! ALL 5 DUCKS AT ONCE SUDDENLY BECAME OBESE WHEN THEYRE ALL DIFFERENT AGES AND SIZES?! I told them, if they’re obese, don’t you think they would also have a vitamin deficiency? They didn’t know what to say but then told me “We can’t give vitamins to these animals” Are you kidding me? You’re willing to just let them die??? You obviously know nothing. It’s disgusting how little they cared for them just because they’re wild ducks. They don’t truly care for animals. Most of the good reviews are for dogs. But HELLO, you’re a wildlife vet!!!! START CARING. So when they brought the ducks back to their habitat, they were EVEN WORSE. They told us that they would never be the same ever again and told us not to do anything about it. Thank God we didn’t listen. If we did, they would be dead. My mom and I took it upon ourselves to self-medicate them. They are now MUCH better and act as if nothing happened because WE DID IT OURSELVES. Want proof? Search the hashtags #Fortheloveofmuscovyducks #Fortheloveofducks#Justiceforchi #Justiceforchiandhisfriends So many of our friends reposted and I am thankful. I didn’t get to say anything about this disgusting vet yet though. But I realize now that if I finally share which vet I took them to, we could possibly be saving the lives of other ducks or other wildlife animals. That’s all that matters to me. I just wish we never brought the ducks here because they not only took a life for nothing, they also wasted the other ducks’ time and they almost died because of it. Take your wildlife animals elsewhere for the sake of their precious lives.

I would recommend Florida Wild to anyone who has a pet, I wish I had found them sooner! We LOVE You Florida Wild!!! <3 This is Jacks story: Being a full time elementary school teacher you can imagine the shock I was in when I heard that my beloved cocker spaniel, Jack, would need spinal surgery for a pinched nerve that ultimately crippled his hind quarters, leaving him in pain and without any feeling in his back legs and feet. My former vet referred me to a specialist whos only recommendation was surgery that wasnt guaranteed to work and would require me to bring Jack frequently for physical therapy for months afterwards. Knowing that I couldnt afford a bill of well over $6,000 for the surgery alone I decided to search for an alternative to my vets suggestion. Words cannot express how thankful Jack and I are to have found Dr. Mason and Dr. Humbert at Florida Wild! Their recommendation for Jack was acupuncture therapy along with underwater treadmill therapy. Within weeks we were seeing a difference in Jacks mobility! Where Jack was once dragging both his hind legs behind him with no function, he now is walking on his own again with minimal assistance needed. We are now using their FREE at home resources to do specific exersizes to continue his progress. The friendly staff and homey atmosphere also make Florida Wild one of a kind! Jack has always felt comfortable there and the staffs true love for the animals shines through when we all sit together in the therapy rooms. When Dr. Mason comes in to greet her patients she sits with them on the carpet and interacts with them in a gentle and loving way. A calming lavender aroma also fills the air and eases Jacks worry. I would recommend Florida Wild to anyone who has a pet, I wish I had found them sooner! We LOVE You Florida Wild!!! <3 Love, Jack and Jill

We have been very happy and satisfied clients at Florida Wild Veterinary Hospital since its opening many years ago.In addition to being a first rate, up to date and immaculate veterinary facility, what we most greatly appreciate about Florida Wild is the outstanding professionalism and compassion with which Dr. Holder, Dr Mason, the vet techs and the support staff treat patient but also their excellent personal communication with clients makes them an exemplary team. We are owned by 2 wonderful Oriental Shorthair kitties. One is Aki, a kitten and the other is our geriatric cat, Sir Hubble Pinkerton who is a special needs kitty who often requires a great deal care. We also have a mixed breed kitty, Edgar Allen Poe. I must add that Dr. Holder is extremely patient and she has been extremely compassionate and helpful to us, especially when Sir Hubble has been very sick. She has always been there for us during those times when his condition warranted extra attention. Not only do we love this practice, our kitties can feel the love these two wonderful docs have for all animals, and they adore cats and know how to handle them. Florida Wild Veterinary staffs deep concern and extraordinary patience has been invaluble to us and also our kitties. So if you are looking for both a veterinary practice that not only knows how to relate with animals, but also knows precisely how to communicate and comfort their their human clients, Florida Wild Veterinary Hospital in Deland is truly a blessing.

I have a Dalmatian, which is a rescue through the Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay. As a transport volunteer for Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay, it was my responsibility to pick up, and transport Lucy the Dalmatian. Well, I retrieved Lucy, but she never reached the planned destination, because I fell in love with this sweet, and funny little girl, my Lucy. Many rescued animals have emotional issues from years of neglect, and abuse. Lucy is no exception. She has a bone chilling fright of any veterinarian office. She weighs 60 pounds, and uses every pound to fight anyone who touches her during a vet visit. She doesnt give up. Along with the struggle, she screams. I had transferred to Florida Wild with Lucy, hoping for understanding and patience on the part of Dr. Holder, and the staff. I am so pleased with the warmth, patience, and knowledge of the staff, and Dr. Holder. Dr. Holder knows that she needs a few extra minutes to get Lucy to know that she is there to help her, and I appreciate that extra effort. It means everything to me to know that I am not just considered a nuisance by bringing my wild dog for veterinary care, and that she is getting top notch care, and consideration. This is a great relief for me. Along with everything else, Dr. Holder not only uses conventional methods of veterinary care, but also incorporates a holistic approach, when needed. It works. I am grateful, and look forward to future care for Lucy at Florida Wild.
