I became aware of Angel Kids Pediatrics when both my OB/GYN and a personal friend recommended them. After considering about 6 other options in the area, there are four primary reasons we selected (and have been delighted with our experience at) Angel Kids Pediatrics: 1) excellent breastfeeding & newborn support, 2) convenient hours & locations, 3) knowledgeable and responsive providers and staff, and 4) Bartram office environment and amenities. 1) Excellent breastfeeding & newborn support -- Rhonda Thomason dos Santos, the lactation consultant at Angel Kids Pediatrics Bartram location, is one of the primary reasons we selected Angel Kids. Not only did she make an excellent first impression upon leading my initial tour of the practice, she returned an email the same day that I sent her a question prior to my daughter being born, and she also came and sat with me for a nursing session during our very first office visit with our daughter. You can tell Rhonda really cares for her patients because she makes sure you know you can call her with any questions at any time! While she is very knowledgeable and passionate, she is also very approachable and encouraging. I also like the fact that the Bartram location has a room you can nurse in. 2) Convenient hours & locations -- Another primary reason we selected Angel Kids is because they are open late on the weekdays and also have Saturday and Sunday hours. I really appreciate this because I believe it will help us save money by preventing unnecessary emergency room visits just because we have an "after-hours" concern. Even once they are closed, they have phone and email options available. Bartram is also a location that is very convenient for us. 3) Knowledgeable and responsive providers and staff: We saw Dr. Affan for our very first appointment for our firstborn. It was like drinking from a fire-hose because he gave us so much valuable information in that one session! I really appreciated everything he shared and especially how he addressed my husband and emphasized the important role he has in her care. We saw Dr. Mercado for a follow up visit and she was also excellent. In addition, the office got back to us very quickly on a question my husband and I called in with one day. We appreciated the quick turnaround. 4) Bartram office environment and amenities. Parents will appreciate the on-site store stocked with lots of things that they may not want to make an extra stop for, as well as the on-site nursing room. They also have well and sick waiting rooms and all of the exam rooms have colorful murals and themes that show they are focused on creating a positive experience for their patients.

Worst experience I have ever had at a doctors office in my life. Id give it a 0 if I could. My appointment was at 4pm, I, as a time conscientious person always arrive a little early so I was there at 3:50. Rude woman at the front had me go to the waiting room, around 4:30 I go to the front and ask how much longer I was going to have to wait because I am seeing parents and their kids who have come in after me going back before me. She says oh not much longer. Around 4:45 I hear the rude woman and some other woman say my daughters name (who keep in mind has been waiting in this waiting room for the last hour and isnt too happy) so I listen in, I hear them say who is going to tell her then laughing. I dont want to assume so I wait, at 5 I see the original rude woman who sat me walk to the back and another woman call me up there she proceeds to tell me they dont accept my issuance (which I called up to see who they accept because I knew they no longer accepted it before, the woman who scheduled my apnt said oh we will be accepting after July 1st so we will do an apt for after the 1st.) I explained this to the woman she then told me 30 minutes ago they got an email saying they wouldnt be able to accept that insurance. Being as though I came in 30 minutes before the email was sent why am I to be penalized and wasted over an hour of my daughters and my day. I am not happy with this service and they fact they thought it was funny and wasted another 15 minutes trying to find out "who was going to tell me" this was unacceptable. I dont ever complain but I will be doing all I can to express my feelings about this "facility".

Upon my first call to them before I gave birth to my daughter they were terrible. They immediately put me on hold for an hour. They are always insanely busy with no time to even examine your child. One time the doctor came in, after I had waited OVER AN HOUR for the doctor, looked at my child for LITERALLY 5 seconds, and said she had a diaper rash. I later took her to another doctor to find out she had a yeast rash pretty bad. Could they not spare more than 5 seconds to examine my child after I had been waiting over an hour??? Next the doctor prescribed me a medication I KNEW my daughter was allergic to and on TWO SEPARATE occasions I told the doctor and nurses and had them put it into my daughters file. Well they NEVER put it in her file, kept mixing her file up and had her listed as a BOY instead of a girl, and prescribed me this medication for each time she had the same symptoms. So I had to go back AGAIN (3 times) pay the copays for that, pay for the medication yet again, and delay my childs healing due to their inability to just believe me and put it in her file that she was allergic. The nurses are great but the doctors are so overworked and understaffed that they barley spend anytime talking to you. Dont be deceived by the first new born visit. They are GREAT on that first visit! Then all the others they treat you like crap.

Organization, Cleanliness, and Knowledge are missing from this establishment. From the beginning my appointment was confirmed at two different times. The place looks like it has never seen a magic eraser or disinfectant since opening. There were used disposable attachments on the floor that I had imagined were in some childs ear at some point in time. The doctor talked and never really examined my children. He gave me negative results for a hearing test that he interrupted multiple times. How does that make any sense? I will not return. I was ordered lab work that the doctor quoted to be under 100.00. I arrived at thye lab today. Guess what? 478.00 was the actual price. I do not recommend this office to anyone. I am not comfortable taking my children there and anyone who truly values their childs health would not either. Hope my bad experiences can save someone else the aggrivation.

As brand new parents, we looked at a few different pediatric offices. One visit to angel kids and we knew it was the right place for our little angel. The office is clean and staff is always friendly. We love the extended hours and that they are open on Saturdays at the beach location. I loved the fact that they have two waiting areas, one for sick kids and one for well kids. The doctors and nurses are awesome and take so much time with us answering questions and calming our "new parent" nerves. I struggled with nursing in the beginning and was so impressed with, Rhonda, their on staff lactation consultant. I was blown away that she gave me her cell phone number and said to call any time with questions. She is quick to respond to my texts and helped me through the first few months of nursing that were really hard. I recommend this location to all of my friends! A++
