Visited the office a couple of times but only saw the doctor on my first appointment. They kept changing my treatment and medication multiple times, still no improvement on my acne. The PA kept pushing the Accutane even though I explained, on multiple times, that I couldnt take that medication. The PA couldnt even think of another medication and the alternative was to prescribe something similar to Accutane. I stopped going to the office since it didnt seem like it was helping me at all and every time I went there the costs changed. After a couple of months, received in the mail bills for different services that were not even fully explained on the letters. When I called the office, the girls there couldnt explain anything to me aside from what was already in the bill. They had no clue about the charges and they kept telling me "we are going to look into it, call us back tomorrow". Nothing got fixed and I ended paying all that extra money, just to stop the calls and letters. Very disappointed with everything about this place. Unless you like fancy and expensive for minimal procedures, this is the place.

Bad business practices. Watch your back with these people. I will say that the staff is top notch and provides outstanding professional services. HOWEVER, they have terrible pricing practices. Quote one rate, after they check with your insurance carrier, and then hit you with additional rates because of one reason or another. They quoted me one rate for a particular service, and later quoted my wife a rate that was nearly half off. This has happened with my wife as well as myself, and so if this is how they are with the two of us, it cant be just random bad luck. When shopping for procedure costs, they seem to quote low in order to get you in the door, and then they nail you with the actual bill once youve had the work. After verifying her rate several times, we had her procedure done - only to receive another bill for the other half of the actual rate a few weeks later. Lame excuses about the quote being an "estimate" and then more excuses about how the cost of supplies had increased. I call this GARBAGE, and will not be going back.

I have spent most of my life enjoying the sunshine here in Florida. I never realized the damage that the sun was causing until I developed a black mole and it was melanoma. I recently had a full body check with Theresa, one of the Physician Assistants at Sand Lake Dermatology and she went over each spot of concern with me and gave it a name so I could understand what it was and if I should be concerned or not. She put me at ease and gave me a clean bill of health. She also recommended several sun screens, which I use and I know now how to protect my skin, keep it healthy and still go out and enjoy my sporting activities in the sun. I have found a great group of people to keep me in check and I will continue to have my skin checked by a group of Doctors and Physicians that put the well being of me first.....thank you Sand Lake Dermatology from a cancer survivor!!!!

I have been wanting to switch dermatologists for a long time. I had something on my face that started bleeding and was extremely worried. My other dermatologist couldnt get me in, so I called Sand Lake Dermatology. They bent over backwards to get me in. I walked in and was greeted by the front desk. Its a very clean office. Then I was called back 10 minutes before my appointment started! I left the office 15 minutes after my appointment! This never happens at any doctors offices! I saw Dr. Jena. She was very kind and helpful. Her bedside manner was wonderful, too. She was very thorough. Overall, if you like a clean environment, a fast appointment, friendly staff, and a thorough and kind dermatologist, go visit this place!

I went for my first visitations for really mild acne, some blemishes a couple red spots on my face....i told the doctor that I have very sensitive skin. She give a prescription for 2 oitments which they gave me a really bad reaction. my face got really red, itchy, and hot I called the office and told them about it and they just told me to let be for the weekend, I told them that I work with public and my face was getting really bad. They still said just to let it be...that same day I had to go to the urgent care because the reaction in my face was getting worse within hours. I just think it was really unprofessional they way they treated the situation specially when it comes to having a bad reaction with medication.

My experience with Sand Lake Dermatology has been nothing but wonderful. The office is very clean and welcoming. From check-in to check-out, every staff members and physicians are very professional, kind, and helpful. One of the best thing I love about this place is that you will get called in right at the time of your appointment, no delays. The nurse will assist you immediately, and the physician will be with you within minutes; I never have to wait more than 5 minutes. They will help you understand the condition you’re going through, truly want you to get better, and do their best to help you find a solution. I am very pleased with Sand Lake Dermatology and would highly recommend it!

I met with PA Lauren yesterday on my first visit to the office and she was great. I made the appt for a full body mole check but while I was there asked about some acne issues too. She was happy to discuss with me and gave me several options for me to choose from. She was professional, thorough, and friendly and Ill definitely be returning. The office staff (desk and nurse) were both professional and friendly as well, and I was called back to the room less than 5 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and didnt need to wait long to see the PA after the nurse collected all my info.

My wife and I had an excellent experience! From setting up the initial appointment to receiving a skin diagnosis to writing proper prescriptions, everything was professional and ran smoothly! Ms. Helsel did tremendous work with my wife to carefully analyze her skin and give prescriptions that were necessary, beneficial, and affordable. She took the time to personally explain her diagnosis and how the treatment should help my wifes skin. We scheduled a follow-up appointment and we are already starting to see positive results! Would certainly recommend Sand Lake to anyone in the area!

Overall, I have received good service from SLD. My sole complaint is that I always feel as if like they are selling me something. I have yet to leave their office without them recommending that I purchase a product - which not surprisingly - they sell at the office. Most recently, I was told that SLDs price was equal to or cheaper than retail, so made the purchase. Later, I found the moisturizer I paid $12 for, sells for $7 in most places. Im not worried about the $5, but what does bother me is - feeling like they are more interested in profits than in my well-being.

I just started going to this dermatology center about a month ago, but I really liked it. The office is in a nice area and the people are very nice. Ive struggled with moderate acne for my whole life, been to many different dermatologists, but this place is the only place that got it right. They put me on a great program that really treats acne from the inside out and I have not have any serious breakouts since I went for my first visit a month ago. The staff is very nice and helpful and they have a ton of products to choose from. Overall it was a great experience!
