First impressions Today I walked into the center for the first time since my Prestige assigned me to the clinic. It was around 12:30 pm. I walked in to inquire about a visit today since my son was sick and I was told over the phone that I would be seen as long as I came in before 3:00 pm. the receptionist who greeted me told to come back at 1:00 because everyone was at lunch. she stated could not guarantee that I would be seen because I was a walk in and the doctors had a meeting at 3:00 pm. I left the office but stayed in the parking lot to wait my time. Other cars kept arriving yet they were entering the office and not asked to leave. that was observation number one. Since I noticed that other families were being help before 1:00 I went back into the office. I gave them my documentation as a new patient and was asked to wait in the sick area lobby. after waiting about 10-15 minutes I was told that I was not able to be seen because my primary insurance Tri-care was showing up on the Prestige documents. I told the receptionist that the military insurance is not active and that I called Prestige earlier that morning and they confirmed that it was no longer on file. She told me that she could not take my son until the tri-care is removed from the documents. Seriously, my son is sick...you cant schedule illness it just happens and his secondary insurance was active. Regardless the office was going to get paid if the primary was not active the secondary insurance would have kicked in... If this clinic was not so worried about payment and the true focus was the well being of the children my child would have been seen. she could have gone a step further called prestige to confirm my story, ask me to use there phone to call, ask me to pay cash or arrange payments, get billed she did nothing but deny service. What ever happened to the doctors oath. Needless to say I will not be using this office and I will not recommend it to anyone. Unfortunately the well disguised organization that in the eyes of the community is about the children is a lie... they are about payment period! Dr. Ever Rivera and all of the other doctors should be ashamed of yourselves allowing your receptionist to deny services to a sick child. Unfortunately In order to post this I had to rate it... I would not have given it any stars.
