To Whom It May Concern: With great confidence, I am proud to recommend to you, Dr. Pedro Troya. After suffering for years in relentless pain and hopelessness, I was lucky enough to have been referred to Dr. Troya by my internal medicine doctor. During my first visit, Dr. Troya had assessed my medical record and with his first examination, came up with a preliminary diagnosis of Acromegaly. Dr. Troya took the time to examine my entire history of ailments and complaints. His thorough examination and attention to detail found, what countless others could not. Dr. Troya took the time to edify and ease my fears as we faced the challenge of stopping additional damage. My first visit with Dr. Troya was in October of 2009 and we had the tumor removed in February of 2010. When complications forced me back into the ICU, Dr. Troya ensured that the care I was receiving met with the challenges that I faced. He coordinated with the Neuro-Surgeon, the staff at Tampa General Hospital, and USF Medical. Dr. Troya was there when I was fearful and unsure of my recovery. Dr. Troya follows up with his patients in a way few other doctors do today. He truly cares. As a person, Dr. Troya is more than just my endocrinologist. He is a trusted doctor and friend that I can call on when medical issues cause me concern. There is no one I trust more than Dr. Troya. Respectfully, Warren Merkle Jr.

If I could give this office below than zero stars I would! Incompetent, uneducated receptions makes this office the worst I have ever been to. The "receptionists" are horrible at their jobs. I had to get paperwork sent to two different hospitals by fax and it was like pulling teeth to get them to fax paperwork. After two days and still no received paperwork I had to personal go down to Bay Area endocrinology and pick up the paperwork they were supposed to send days ago. The receptionist are incredible rude and It shows. One of the receptionist had an attitude because she had to take my vitals guess she forgot that was part of her job. Also, I called the doctors office on a Friday asking for the doctor to prescribe me medicine for my goiter which was very painful. I called twice once at 2:00pm telling them I was in pain and called them again at 4:30 to make sure my request was sent so I wouldnt suffer the weekend without any relief. The receptionist got an attitude because I called again and hung up in my face. Couple hours later no medicine was put in the pharmacy. I had to suffer the whole weekend with no relief. The doctor doesnt care and definitely not the receptionists. Tried to give this place numerous chances to regain my trust but I cant be neglected anymore when it comes to my health. Absolutely the worst experience I had with a specialist

I cannot begin to express my satisfaction with the staff at Bay Area Endocrinologist. From the front desk to the nurses to the doctor, each and every one of them has always been courteous, professional, and they make my visit as comfortable as they possibly could. Everyone is very nice, and it is nice to be treated well since you are the patient in need of help. Caring, smiling and laughing is good atmosphere for patients. Coming here is like dealing with trusted family. Would not consider changing doctors. Dr. Troya has been a great help to me over the years with my diabetic control. I trust Dr. Troya’s opinion and suggestions always when deciding what I feel is right for me. Dr. Troya always has time to talk about my issues in depth and is open to looking at new ways of dealing with them. I can’t speak highly enough of the support that my doctor has given me. Dr. Troya always treats me with tender loving care. Because he really does cares. I must mention that Joy and Heather are very knowledgeable of the medical field and always professional. Kudos to Dr. Troya, Heather and Joy. Domingo Fiallo-Folch

After being wrongly diagnosed by my previous primary physician I was a little skeptical about going to a new doctor. My collegues kept recommending Dr. Troya, and after seeing his bed side manner and how efficiently he treated his patients at the veteran hospital, I decided to make an appointment with him at his private office. He has always sat and listened to my concerns never rushing me, goes in depth over my labs, and best of all figured out what was wrong with me from the beginning after countless doctors kept misdiagnosing me. His recommendations have help me extensively with my medical issues and concerns. Because of his knowledge I have gained the necessary tools to better take care of my health. The staff at Bay Area Endocrinology has always been courteous and pleasant, I have been a patient for almost 3 years.

My experience with Dr Fumero its been life changing for me, he is an amazing and caring doctor, I have suffer from Hypoparathyiroidism for years, due to Thyroid cancer and my parathyroid glands were removed, causing very unpleasant symptoms like cramps, palpitations for having low blood calcium and no other doctor could stabilized me, until I met Dr Fumero and his concerned for my condition, a brand new medication was approved by the FDA called NATPARA, which is the hormone that I was lacking since surgery, he and his staff , specially GISELLE went to great lengths and my medication was approved by my insurance, been on it for 5 months and never felt better, its the old me again :) a thank you would not be enough to express my gratitude.. :) Would highly recommend him :)

Dr. Troya is great! Ive been a patient of his for 4 years. His staff is also wonderful. Everyone is friendly, efficient and helpful. Dr. Troya takes the time to answer all of my questions and if I have one after I leave his office, he always returns my calls. He really cares about his patients. I also love that he doesnt rush through appointments like other offices do. He takes his time and makes sure you understand and are comfortable before you leave. It is definitely a 5 star office.

Dr Troya and his staff are professional but also very warm and friendly. I have been a patient for over 5 years and with my Type 2 diabetes and thyroid issues, Dr Troya has given me excellent care and kept me on track during this time. It is imperative if you are diabetic that you have a great endocrinologist and Dr Troya definitely fills the bill. Chuck

The wait time here is anywhere from 1-1/2 to 3 hours past your appointment time. The lady processing the appointments has a horrible attitude and could care less how long you wait. She will simply ask you if you want to reschedule. Total lack of respect for someones time. I would look for a different facility.
