I scheduled an appointment to be seen for the first time and misplaced the card with the appointment date and time on it. I called in to request my appointment time and was told by the receptionist that I wasnt "in the system". I told her that I had scheduled the appointment a month and a half ago. She immediately told me that I missed my appointment and that was why I wasnt in the system. I mentioned that I had never received a call to remind me of my appointment and she rudely insisted that they had called me. She wouldnt tell me what number they had on file and insisted I tell her what my phone number is (Im guessing that makes it easier to claim that they had the correct number on file?). All this time I am dealing with an excruciatingly painful broken molar and a rude receptionist that clearly cares more about being right than helping me. Finally she asks me "Did you call me up to start an argument or to schedule an appointment?" That was the final straw. I have heard wonderful things about the doctors here but frankly, if I have to be treated like thay by their schedulers in order to have my teeth cared for I would rather go somewhere else. You should hire new office people before these ones sully your good reputation!

Great staff! Dr. Jose Avila is the best dentist Ive ever had in my life. He is personable, professional and caring! I am typically very anxious about going to the dentist. Dr Avila put me at ease immediately. He assured me he wasnt going to "hurt" me and indeed he kept his word. The entire staff at Coast Dental Tarpon Springs were helpful and informative. Who doesnt like to walk in to a place where people work and find them with smiles on their faces and in their voices! Every visit to Coast Dental Tarpon Springs has been a pleasure from the time I walked through their door. If there was one thing Id change it would be to get them to play Country Music instead of the easy listening stuff they have on now! Such nice folks who obviously like their jobs - they made what I expected to be a dreary scary experience...a very pleasant one. Dr. Avila sets the example. What a great dentist!

This is the most incompetent, dishonest facility ever! I scheduled my appointment 6 weeks ago, provided all my information, including insurance information. The day before my appointment they call claiming I never returned their calls with my insurance information. I NEVER received any calls from them! I had zero missed calls from them, zero voice mails, and zero visual voice mails. The lady insisted she called me twice 2 days ago. When I stated she was lying and that I have 3 forms of documentation proving she did NOT call her whole attitude changed - then she wanted to be nice and help me. If this is how you treat people PRIOR to their appointment - what makes you think I want your incompetent staff working in my mouth? Sad, pathetic, lying, deceitful people.

I have been to a lot of dentists over the years and I have to say this one is the best! I went for my first appointment and all the staff was great! The lady that did my x-rays was awesome and so nice even though they were short staffed that day and she was running around trying to fill in. The other staff was great doing my initial exam and explaining what I needed done and my options. I never felt pressured to do anything. The Doctor was great! He was very pleasant and had a great attitude and a sense of humor! The whole experience was pleasant. The office was very clean and decorated nicely. I will be returning for all my dental needs.

Wow! What an experience I had today on the telephone I have previously been seen by this Dennis office so Im not new I had a filling .The tooth in front of the filling broke off yesterday I called today today this morning and the staff was so rude they did not want to listen to me all they want to do is tell me is that they had an appointment that was two weeks away and the appointment would just be for them to look at it not to pull it Im just asking them to pull it and they said two weeks just to look at it wow! So Rude! Dont go here. I guess if you can get past the staff the actual dentist is a good guy !

My experience at coastal with Dr. Avila and his assistant Nelly was the best. They both were very pleasant,courteous and caring of my situation; to have six teeth pulled is not easy but they inspired confidence and trust. The procedure was painless and had no complaints. I would truly recommend Dr. Avila to my friends and family. All the staff and Nelly are especially nice and efficient and professional as well as helpful. They are Awesome. Thank you Dr. Avila And Nelly May God always bless you. Doc you have great hands never did i feel any discomfort thanks being that im diabetic

The Staff are excellent and will go over and beyond to help you. Dr. Avila is an Amazing doctor and explains in detail everything and is very patient. Amanda is great person and very sweet and above all very knowledgeable and professional. As for Miriam, my god, what an example of such amazing human being. At all times, helpful, lovable, has an incredible patience with customers, will go over and beyond to assist you and get it done. Coast Dental made an excellent choice in choosing the right people. Would recommend anytime this Dentist Facility!

I felt comfortable with Dr. Avila and staff before the procedure and especially after. Dr. Avila s confidence is reassuring and his sense of humor made the "ride" alot more pleasant. They extraction was quick and almost painless. It is so important to have confidence and positive thoughts about your dentist and the staff. I am glad I had a good experience under such "scarey" circumstances and would definitely recommend Coast Dental of Tarpon Springs to anyone who needs to get to the dentist!

Went for a cleaning and it turned into a extensive cleaning. My insurance only covered a cleaning. So that visit was a waste of time for me. I loved when I told her sorry... I have no money at the time for the cleaning. The dental assistant got nasty with me for declining the service. I also loved the high school mentality the office upholds. While in the waiting room, I overheard office workers mocking customers. I guess this office only likes cash up front paying customers. Never again!!!

My girlfriend was first given the wrong scripts, then was told to deal with the pain of an exposed nerve, decaying wisdoms and an infection. She could not take the medication Dr. Avila was wanting to prescribe her. Even after our pharmacist spoke to him personally explaining that she couldnt take the medication due to medical issues, he denied her pain relief. He told our pharmacist to tell her to "suck it up & take tylenol over the counter." Then he hung up on our pharmacist.
