Ive been with BAH since we moved here in 1998 and fired Dr. Ramirez after my dog passed away this time last year. This was the one big emergency we had over the years and we were completely let down. Still no ultrasound equipment of their own a year later and still giving out referrals out to Blue Pearl (now owned by a big corporation MARS. ) Kick backs??? Blue Pearl is a disgrace to the medical field. At both practices my dog sat in a kennel for an entire day with time stacked against her. No call backs when promised, no direction and both places were sadly understaffed. We almost lost our other dog around the same time. Both dogs were older 11 and 13 and became extremely ill after being vaccinated. Both dogs had life threatening side effects. As a pet owner we owe it to our pets to fully research every drug being administered and make sure they dont give anything to your pet without your full consent. Blue Pearl gave my little dog Fentanyl after her surgery and she passed away immediately in the ICU. This drug is 10x stronger than morphine. They also had her on Methadone. You cannot mix these two drugs together. It is a deadly mix. These types of drugs were given without my consent. When I went to see Dr. Ramirez a week later to follow up at BAH he had the nerve to tell me (and these were his exact words). " YOU KILLED YOUR DOG". Very juivenile behavior for an adult and very unprofessional for a DVM. We had been with BAH for over 15 years. I am sorry, I can no longer recommend them to anyone.

Dr. Buck killed my cat. He had a urinary blockage and I took him in to see what needed to be done to save him. I had no idea that would be the last time I would see my baby. I should have known not to let him work on my baby when his hands were uncontrollably shaky. I was just distressed and scared and didnt process that someone whos hands are shaking either have a nerve disorder like Parkinsons are the shakes from drinking alcohol. Either way I look back now and should have said no. He told me my cat needed surgery so I agreed. Before I even got back home I got a phone call that my cat had died. When I went to call back they informed me Dr. Buck was on his lunch break. How did my cat die so quickly? It seems like all he was concerned about was getting his lunch break. I just feel like something like this could have been easily avoided. If you cant keep your hands still you shouldnt be performing surgery. This is a job to you but to me this was my baby and I will miss him forever. ** Apparently theres a new owner here and he keeps calling my phone asking me to take this review down because it could hurt his business? Im sorry, I dont know how to delete it. I only have an option to edit.. if dr. Buck is retired then thats a good thing. Maybe change the name of the business so people dont associate the two. I cant speak for the current owner, only dr. Buck who committed medical malpractice with my cat.

We took our cat to another highly rated vet in the area only to wait an hour and a half in an uncomfortable waiting room and then be charged $200 for a two minute exam. Two weeks later, our poor cat was sick. We called BAH and the staff worked us into the schedule the same day. Even so, we waited less than 10 minutes to be seen. Dr. Duvall is patient and understanding and she was able to care for our cranky elderly cat in such a way that the cat let it happen (which is much more impressive than it sounds). She and the staff at BAH took their time to get to the problem and clearly laid out options and recommendations. It is so nice to go somewhere that truly cares about the health and wellbeing of your furry family more than they care about making a buck. They called the next day to see how our cat was doing to determine the next step in her care, and the experience was just as good at the follow up appointment. We trust Dr. Duvall with our furbabies and we will be going to BAH from now on. Thank you Dr. Duvall!

My 17 year old cat had an abscess that came out of nowhere saw Dr. Ramirez he says let it pop and sends me home with 7 days of antibiotic. After it pops her eye on the side it popped gets droopy and her pupils are different sizes go to see Dr. Buck on a Friday he gives her a $50 antibiotic shot and says it is just a bad infection should be OK. My husband asks him will she loose eyesight in that eye? He assures us that she wont and we are on our way feeling good. Monday only 3 days after this her eye is cloudy and greenish goop in it. We rush he back and he says oh well not only has she lost sight in it she needs it out or you need to put her down. How much will that cost? $880 (Plus the cost of your recheck today). Are you kidding me? Needless to say we wont be going back! I hope he reads this thanks for costing Maddie her eye you quack!! Wish I could post pictures you would be horrified how bad it was.

I will NEVER take another animal to the groomer or the vet at Bloomingdale Animal Hospital. Customer service is terrible. They dont act like they care about the animal, or their clients. I took my dog to be groomed, and was told I could not pick him up before 5:30 pm. Was delayed at work, but called to say I was on the way, only to find their phone was already switched over to the emergency after-hours service. The service attempted to call the back line, but noone answered the phone. When I got to the clinic a few minutes after 6pm, I saw wet floors and a dripping mop out back, so I know they had just left. But there was no way to reach anyone!!! Ive been a customer for over two years, but they locked up my dog overnight in the back and left the premises, without so much as a phone call to me. I cried for three hours. I will never forgive their unkindness.

Maybe you should be more responsible when picking your pet up. I take my dog there all the time and you can pick them up way before 5:30. Just because you are irresponsible, dont take it out on the Vet. I have taken all of my animals to this vet for over 3 years and I have been very happy with all of their services. The prices are the same at any reputable vet, most people just want to be cheap with their animals though....you get what you pay for. For what it is worth, I will continue to use this Vet for all my pets. I just cant stand idiots leaving negative feedback because they are irresponsible.

We have been clients of Bloomingdale Animal Hospital for more than ten years. Dr. Ramirez and his staff are kind, compassionate and provide excellent veterinary care for our dogs. He always offers advice that is practical and realistic, instead of recommending expensive procedures that are not really necessary. I trust him completely. I highly recommend them. Every experience with Dr. Ramirez and his staff has shown me that they are genuinely good people with great hearts.
