Money hungry and inept. Once you get past how nice everyone is (which they should be) and get down to the type of care provided you can really see the issues. I brought my cat in as he had gotten into a scrap with a neighbor cat and received a wound on his side which become infected. Upon having the exam, I was advised the only option to treat my pet was surgery. Very important, immediate, necessary and, you guessed it, expensive! Of course, I started to consider his recommendations as anyone would when consulting a professional. Then he said something which took me back. I asked if an antibiotic might have an impact. He said no, not an option as the wound doesnt have blood vessels in it and the medicine wouldnt reach the affected area. Now, I dont know much about medicine, but I do know white blood cells fight infections and to tell me that an infection inside the body cant be fought off because blood vessels dont reach it sounds like an attempt at misinformation to sway my decision. Either way, after quite a bit of reluctance the Dr. agreed to administer the medicine in lieu of surgery. ($550.00 less than surgery) Sure enough within 24hrs my cat was fully healed with no signs of infection and was back to running and terrorizing my other, older cat, as per usual. Granted, I understand pushing the $600.00 surgery option vs. the $50 antibiotic from a business perspective as you need to make money, but if its come to the point where youre making decisions based on business and not the care of your patients then you made some bad decisions along the way and need to close your doors. I find this to be morally reprehensible. Just think of the pain and suffering I saved my pet because I DIDNT listen to the Dr...

While the veterinary clinic is dedicated to the care of all personal pets, it is not the only service of the clinic. The primary mission of the vet clinic is to provide complete medical care for our pets. I am not happy with the treatment of my dog. at this practice. I left feeling very uncomfortable and disappointed. This is the second time he came back from boarding with cuts and scrapes, as well as a missing fang. Its not surprising why dogs develop a fear of visits to the veterinary clinic. I dont believe my dog social and physical needs were met while in the care at animal medical diagnostic center. I believe he probably spent overnight and most of the day locked up. Was there anyone at the clinic doing after hours monitoring? The staff did not exercise the same degree of humane care, skill and deligence in trearting my dog as is ordinarily used in the same or similiar circumstances by members of the veterinary medical profession. I have decided after 12 years of being a good member of the clinic to move on. i hope everyone reads this letter so they understand how poorly this clinic treated a memeber of my family.

I dont leave reviews but this needs to be said. We are new to the area and needed a new vet for our 4 dogs and saw this place had good reviews. They never told me which tests they were doing beforehand or the cost of anything. It did not matter if I took 1, 2 or all 4 of my dogs at one time I was always charged a minimum of $300 with no real break down of the actual charges. One of my dogs, has allergies according to my old vet, and they kept giving us medication that would kind of work while he was taking it but didnt solve the itchiness entirely. They just suggested we clean him off everytime he comes in from outside, we have a fenced in yard with a dog door and we both work full time, so its not feasible to do this. He still itches. The staff was nice but never very informative on what they were doing or why. It even took me several trips to get an actual price list from them. They do seem to try to care for the animals but they really seem to only care about money. I wont go back just to be changed another $300 for no reason.

I can not speak highly enough about my vets office and veterinarian Dr. Jim Antunano, here in Valrico Florida. His office, Animal Medical Center, is the best veterinary clinic in the Brandon or Valrico area I have ever found. I work in voluntary animal rescue, so I have visited many Vets Offices and Animal Hospitals here in Eastern Hillsborough County. Most importantly, Dr. Antunano is a master animal surgeon and diagnostician. My own and my rescue dogs are very relaxed in his presence, and Dr. A is an extremely thorough Vet. He can figure out and "see" quickly, what most other veterinarians can not. He saved my boxers life, and had I not found his Valrico Animal Clinic, my dog would not be alive. Dr. A gives his cell phone number to his clients, and is truly a 24/7 Veterinarian . I am so pleased with his care of my dogs.

After a long time of searching for a good Veterinarian after my move to Florida I found Dr. Antunanos Animal Medical Clinic in Valrico. This is my Veterinarian for the past 14 years. Having more than one animal, they come up with many different problems, but Dr. Antunano with his great knowledge always finds the necessary treatment. Like one of my cats leg was so badly infected I was told it might have to be amputated but under Dr. As care everything turned out like there never was a problem. My cat healed well, fast, and is completely normal with no side effects or issues. When I go to Dr. As clinic he and his staff always makes me feel like I am their only client in his busy clinic. I would recommend the Animal Medical Clinic in Valrico to anyone who like myself was looking for a good Veterinarian. Linde Cameron

When I first got my two Yorkies in New York, I had a professional and personal relationship with my Veterinarian whose practice was AAHA Accredited. I saw first-hand how important that accreditation was. When I moved to Florida, I looked for a Vets office close to my new home that was AAHA Accredited and Animal Medical Center had this. I have been very happy with their service over the last 1.5 years. My dogs enjoy their visits and I use Animal Medical Center for all my Dogs medical needs plus regular grooming and boarding! I wouldnt go anywhere else!

We were looking for a veterinarian near us in Valrico Florida to get our Cat spayed. We asked our friends and neighbors what veterinarian they would recommend. One of our friends operates a Boxer Dog Rescue out of her home in Riverview, so we asked her what veterinarian she would go to, and she told us about this place. We have been very happy with all their veterinary services. You can tell their entire office staff love animals, and our Cat really "took" to Dr Jim the veterinarian/owner of this animal hospital.

After first moving to Valrico our dog, Roxy, had an emergency and we needed to find an animal hospital. Our neighbor told us about Dr. Antunano and we rushed Roxy to their office. They got us right in without hesitation and made sure everything was okay with her. They kept us informed the entire time and answered any questions we had, during such a stressful time they kept us calm. Roxy is fine thanks to Dr. Antunano and his staff and now she loves coming in for her check ups.
