DR. BIRSBOIS IS TOO ROUGH AND DOES NOT HANDLE ANIMALS CORRECTLY. I brought my two sugar gliders to Claws and Paws twice, the first time they had their nails clipped by doctor Kue, and the second time we saw Dr. Birsbois. Dr. Kue was happy to be doing his job, calm and knowledgeable and I felt very comfortable with him clipping their nails because he allowed us to stay in a front room with him while he did it. Dr. Jennifer Birsbois, the owner of Claws and Paws, was the worst veterinarian I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. After I had been lead around the office multiple times with my sugar gliders crawling all over me jumping anxiously, waited in three seperate rooms, and dealt with three different clueless doctors (I couldnt even tell who was a trained professional everyone seemed so disorganized), Dr. Birsbois came in to the room to tell me that she wanted to take each one of them back individually to cut their nails. Now, there was no reason for her to do this as it was just a routine nail clipping, and I have to make sure that they are not cutting the nail bed (even while I was in the room last time, one of their nails was cut and bleeding). No doubt she wanted them without me in the back because she wanted to rush and not have me ask her to be more gentle, as we had already kept them open until 5:15 and they had been scheduled to close at 5:00. My assumptions that she was rushing the sugar gliders appointment to get her staff off the clock were only proven further when she irritatedly tried to pull one of them off my shirt. John first made a noise of extreme distrust, and then a different noise pure pain, the first one I hadnt heard since we first adopted them and they were scared in a new home, and the second noise I had NEVER heard from either of them. I pulled away and let her know that you cannot pull them off of fabric like that because their nails will be torn out. One of Johns nails had been pulled out by getting caught in fabric a few months prior and the only reason he didnt lose his whole paw was because we got him antibiotics in time. When I told her this, that she was being too rough, she asked me if I, "Was ever going to get them to cooperate myself". At this point I just left and told her that I would get them to cooperate myself at another doctor. Even after I have taken a few hours to cool down from this afternoons appointment with Doctor Jennifer Birsbois, I am disgusted by the way she allowed her impatience and anger to affect her hands while handling animals so small that they are literally weighed in grams. I was SHOCKED by her indignant reaction to being asked to be more gentle with animals that were smaller than the palm of her hand. Frankly, I am sick at the prospect of someone so rough, angry and rude being in charge of keeping animals healthy. I do not support Claws and Paws because I do not believe that any kind of good can happen in a place where the doctors start to get rough with animals the minute it is time to be off the clock. It was a mistake that I ever brought my babies here and I strongly encourage any other customers to have the same realization.

Ive taken several of my pets and family pets here for years. Two have come in with serious medical issues that the Doctors here have taken personal interests into: One, My German Shepard, somehow acquired a rare worm that is typically only found in cats that dewormers for dogs couldnt kill. The Doctors went above and beyond to research and find the issue that ailed her, and remove it. The worm was over a foot long upon its death. Two, My Mothers Australian Shepard, became deathly ill due to an unknown ingested substance. She was crippled, became deaf, and was in liver failure. The doctors personally cooked rice and chicken and hand fed her for days, walked her with a sling until she was healthy enough to come home. The Doctors then performed acupuncture on her, and she slowly regained her hearing and use of her back legs. I would never go to another vet. Their passion for animals is obvious, and goes above and beyond - caring for these animals as if they were children.

Today I saw Dr. B in regards to a bearded dragon I acquired in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart. The bearded dragon was definitely sick but I tried for months to care for her on my own. She became the first pet I have truly loved and I knew I needed to find her a vet. As a 19 year old working in retail, I make very little money and after the bills are paid I dont have much left. I told Dr. B I had a small budget and she was so kind with working with me to get my bearded dragon everything she needed. She took her time and explained her diagnosis to me and made sure I understood how to administer the medication. In the end I didnt "break my bank" and within a few hours my pet is looking better. I cant even begin to express how thankful I am to Dr. B. I am completely overwhelmed with gratitude! I firmly believe she saved my bearded dragons life. My heart is so full right now, Thank you Dr. B!

I actually have NO experience with them only by phone. I called and there was a vet tech I spoke to and they told me to call back on a specific day so I did just that to make an appointment and THEY decided when my appointment was. I called to confirm my appointment that was made from the week PRIOR since I called them the week before with the appointment.. They took it upon themselves to make the appointment on the same day I had to see a doctor, I said no that I had called the week before to make the appointment and they confirmed it for me. Long story short, if you like to run around on the phone with them then go ahead and see this vet, I have no experience with them in person but Im almost glad I do NOT because of how much of a run around they gave me ON THE PHONE. PURE chaos.

I have been going to Dr. B for more than 10 years. I have never had anything but ethical and caring treatment over all of those years and with a number of different dogs.I have recommended Dr. Brisbois and Dr. Kue to dozens of students and friends and have never known anyone who was not extremely pleased with them. I dont know if they are more or less expensive than others. I would never go anywhere else. If you find them too expensive; shop around. See if you find veterinarians who take your pets home to recover from serious illness of surgery. Shop around for vets who stay until 7 p.m. or later if you need them. Shop around for a veterinarian who has such extensive diagnostic knowledge that clients come from hours away to consult with her. Good luck with that. K. Fornes

Do not waste your time with going to this vet! Every time I have been there, I had to wait over a hour to be seen by the vet. This padt visit will be my last! I brought my dog in to be treated for his allergies, Dr. B wanted to test him for unnecessary conditions, if she would have read his chart, she would have seen that he has very bad allergies. She refused to give him the treatment that always works for him. She was extremely rude and very disrespectful. I have never in my life been talked down on with such disrespect. I was never rude or nasty with her or the staff to be talked to this way. If you are looking for a veteran, do not go here!! Pleas save your time and money from this awful place.
